    Chapter 27 S2

Devin wasn't as reckless as you imagine. With a big male alligator being below them, it was a dangerous situation anyway, because that's how the gators like to attack - from below. By giving it a good smack on the snout rattled it enough that it decided to look for another target. It may have saved one of them a series injury, if not worse.

  3. Chapter 27 – A Boat, Gators, and Sunshine Seeing Devin and I had gone to bed early the previous night, it didn’t bother us when we heard Grandma and Grandpa moving around in the kitchen the next morning. That’s because we had to sleep in the living room last night, since my grandparents’ house only had one extra bedroom, which my parents were using. Devin and I could smell the pot of coffee that Grandpa was brewing, while Grandma was bustling around the kitchen getting things ready

This story starts out with a young man finding himself in the hospital after an accident. I think we all know how difficult, and even traumatic that can be, but what we can never know is what goes through a patient's mind while he's there. This story takes us on a unique and imaginative journey with the patient and gives us an interesting look at what he's experiencing as he recovers. If you like stories that aren't the run of the mill variety, this one is for you.

    Chapter 1

As I was reading this story, I kept thinking of Mark Twain's "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court", except instead of finding himself in Camelot, Nick/Nico was trapped in a world located somewhere between Narnia and Middle Earth, with an angel tossed in for good measure. The story was different, but I found it captivating as I attempted to figure out if the situation was real or if he was dreaming, like Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz", due to her bump on the head. Like @drsawzall, I too feel that this story should be continued so we can see how Nico makes out and if he and Malcomb are reunited in a healthy and loving relationship.
  6. I hope you've got a film of that, because I just have to see it to believe it.
  7. Ecdysiast has a mixed origin. It comes from the Greek word ekdusis (shedding) and the English word enthusiast.

    Hide and Seek

Don't allow the talk about the hospital trauma center and patients they've had there throw you off. And don't stop reading because of the introduction of Noah and his story about a dominant/submissive relationship that had temporarily gone sour, because you'll regret it. This story is about a friendship that allowed Noah to gain confidence, grow, and find out things about himself as he and Kaira play hide-and-seek with Noah's dominant husband on a coast-to-coast-to-coast trip that will leave you smiling and laughing. If you're looking for something to relieve the tension from a tough day or just looking for a little humor, this story would be a great choice. I highly recommend it and kudos to the Secret Author.

  9. Have you ever gone to school or worked with someone and never really paid much attention to them, and then in another environment you run across them and hit it off? That's how this story begins and it turns out to become a love story. I'll warn you that it's not the typical love story that you'd find here on Gay Authors, but it's enchanting and very touching. I would strong suggested it to all readers, especially those looking for a good romance.

    Chapter 1

As I started reading, I wasn't sure what to expect. The talk of what happened at the hospital and then the sudden appearance of Noah had me wondering where the story was going. Then with the mention of Liam and his Dom/Sub relationship with Noah I was even more confused, probably because I don't understand those types of relationships. However, once Kaira and Noah started out on their trip playing hide-and-seek with Liam, I have to admit that I haven't laughed and smiled so much while reading a story, at least not in many years. Their stops at roadside attractions reminded me of vacations I went on when I was younger and I didn't realize so many of those types of attractions were still around. I cringed a little when they ran into Liam in Arizona, although he didn't recognize them at the time, or did he? Had he also recognize them when they were having dinner while listening to that country band? I was able to closely identify with some of the places they stopped at along the way, since I'd been there as well, and when they got to the B&B and were told that another guest had booked the Carriage House, I immediately suspected it might be Liam. Oh, and I'm still trying to figure out who Byron is. Anyway, the story ended up on a happy note when Noah and Liam were reunited, and I'm hoping it remains that happy. In the epilogue, I found it interesting how Noah had written messages to Liam on the postcards he'd purchased at the different locations they'd stopped at. It showed how deeply he loved Liam, even after Liam's unforgiveable breech of trust in their relationship. It was a great and fun story and the Secret Author is to be commended.

    Chapter 1

@Mancunian and @chris191070, you two may be right about the deed being in the envelope, but it leaves me with one question. Why was Koa holding the envelope and asking Bea's parents if they thought Blue and Bea would love it? Didn't the house belong to Bea's mother? This was a wonderful love story, just not the typical story you'd find on this site. I'm just wondering why there's a solid brink wall around the house and gardens that's eight feet tall, and it only had one opening? Was that to protect/shield Bea's grandmother from others? It's not like the Secret Garden where only the garden was walled in. This time the house and garden were all walled in. Even though I had a few questions, I found this a lovely story. Well done, Secret Author!
  13. Yclept, or ycleped, is an archaic word from Old English (gecleopod). It is the past participle of the equally archaic word cleopian (call). The Germans and Dutch still use a form of the word gecleopod.

    Nox or Not?

This story is an easy read and packs a lot of emotion from beginning to end. Some of the emotions are sad and some are comical, but most are touching and involve all forms of love. In addition to the two main characters, Maison and Evan, there's a cast of others, including a lot of kittens and a few cats. I think you'll find it well worth the time it takes to read it.

    Chapter 1

It's always sad to read a story where a child is thrown out of the house because he/she is LGBTQ+, but it's even sadder when we realized that it happens in real life as well. I just hope everyone who experiences something like that has a best friend like Evan. I'm also hoping that Evan and Maison end up going to the same college together. Maybe they can even work it so that they're roommates and they can bring the kitten with them, although it will probably have grown into a cat by then. At the start of this story, I thought it was only Nox that was hidden and couldn't be found, but then I discovered Evan was hiding his feelings of love for Maison, so the author gave us two different takes on the theme. It was a wonderful and enchanting story. Well done.
  16. If a vessel is described as 'yarest', it means that it responds quickly to the helm and is easily handled.
  17. A short, light-hearted, and enjoyable read, with a little humor and a little mystery involved. The characters are compelling, with each having their own unique quirks, and the story ends on a happy and upbeat note.

    Chapter 1

An easy and enjoyable read with a little humor and a little mystery involved. it turns out the Max was more than just a bodyguard, he was a fan as well, but now there is the possibility of a deeper relationship as well. I enjoyed this story, but I've no idea who the author might be.
  19. This term first appeared in the late 1900s and can be attributed to Pinkerton Detective Agency, which was known for tracking down funds stolen from county Post Offices. The term "Yegg". or "Yegg man" is most likely derived from John Yegg, the alias of a bank robber who was active during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The term yeggman was first used by the Golden Valley Chronicle in the early 20th century to refer a criminal, usually a burglar or a safecracker. In Scotland a safe cracker was called a Peterman, a term which was believed to have arisen from Peterhead, a jail in Aberdeenshire that housed many different safe-burglars during its time in use.
  20. I like the fact that you're only going to post one story per day. When you post the anthologies, there are so many interesting stories that I dive in and keep reading until I finish them all, and I put all my other work on the back burner. This will make it so I'm not tempted to do that this time. @Cia Thank you for all of your hard work in putting this together. I'm sure there will be many fascinating stories to captivate us.

    Chapter 26 S2

Acturally, Ben was put in an awkward position, sharing a room with a gay couple, but instead of making an issue of it, he decided to take advantage of the situation. He wasn't willing to reciprocate yet, but who knows what might happen on a future vacation. Yes, the situation caused some tension between Mac and Devin, but hopefully they'll work through it. You're not the only one who has mentioned how commercialized those places are getting. It's kind of taking the joy out of going there and experiencing it, like it used to be. There are still the rides, however. And if you drank your way around the world, I hope you had a designated driver or sober pilot to take you wherever you were going afterward.
