Chapter 01 – Heading Back to CSU Devin and I slept until 9:30, and when we woke up we went down to the kitchen to see what there was to eat. As soon as my mom saw us, she asked a question. “Are you ready for breakfast?” “Yeah, we are,” I answered. “Would you like scrambled eggs, sausages, and toast or waffles and sausages?” “Can we have the scrambled eggs, sausages, and toast with a waffle on the side?” “Certainly, I’ll get right on it. Your father and I ha

Michael (Mac) and Devin are now sophomores (2nd year) at college, and Michael is looking at things with different eyes, since he is also a skinwalker now. This doesn’t merely mean through the eyes of the animals and others he transitions into, but in general he now looks at situations differently, since he has this new ability, but will it change him?

Of course it would be from Australia. Isn't that where 80% of the spider's live? At least 80% of the poisonous spiders.

Happy New Year to the GA family, and I think you'll find that 2024 will be just as exciting and entertaining as 2023 and previous years.

The casing that were used for sausages were originally the small intestines of animals, but in recent decades artificial casing are used. -

I remember being given a liverwusrt sandwich when I was a kid. but it wasn't a sausage. It was a pinkish paste my grandmother had spread on bread, topped with mustard and a slice of swiss cheese, and I didn't think it was bad at all. -
So, age didn't matter, as long as they were ginger-haired and virgins? Maybe the blacksmith kept a bevy of them handy for the purpose. And I'll bet some of the younger ones asked if masturbation made them ineligible to donate. 😁

Another wonderful chapter in which you tied up a lot of loose ends. Michael got to meet all of the people connected to the shop he'd be working at, Charlie got Joe to help him convince Gramps about restoring the mini, and Stacy pulled off the surprise birthday party for Michael and Charlie with the help of a lot of others. A very upbeat read.

Is that semi-circular structure a fort? And if so, was it constructed for the Revolutionary War or the Civil War?

In Middle English there was no s and the word was either spelled ile or yle. The word, however, is probably derived from the Latin word insula (island). Possibly also borrowed from the Old French, ille.
-
The British are fond of using this term (Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, etc.), but there is no clear distinction between an isle and an island.

The Hebrew equivalent to the Greek letter iota is yodh (the smallest letter in the Hebrew alphabet). Therefore, do you think the Hebrew letter yodh was the inspiration for the name Yoda, the smallest Jedi in Star Wars (whom some opponents might consider insignificant)?
-
IOTA is also the name of a company that designs and manufactures state-of-the-art emergency lighting equipment for commercial use.
-
In math, iota is used to represent an imaginary number, such as the square root of negative one. Therefore, iota to the fourth power is equal to one.

After I checked the furnace filter tonight, to see if it needed to be changed, I stood up into a spider web. The sticky web was stuck to my head and face, and when I tried to wipe it off, it merely got stuck to my hand. I was wearing a hooded sweatshirt at the time, with the hood down, so I was hoping the spider didn't drop into there. No matter what I did from that point on, it seemed as if I could still feel the web on my head and neck and it gave me the creeps.

Pustules may form when your skin becomes inflamed due to allergic reactions to food or insect bites.
-
Pustule (Middle English) comes from the Latin word pustula.
-
From my research, postule means to claim or propose something is true without providing evidence or proof, as is postulate. pustule, however, is a bulging patch of skin full of yellowish fluid called pus.
-
Luscious basically means something that is appealing and incredibly pleasing to the senses, and this can range from a delicious looking piece of chocolate cake, the aroma of your favorite meal, or an incredibly good looking person.
-
Luscious may have derived from the Middle English word lusch, which meant soft or tender.

poinsettia - Word of the Day - Mon Dec 25, 2023
Bill W commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
If cared for properly, a poinsettia can last the owner two to three months. The most common cause for a poinsettia to die before then is root rot, from over watering. -

Contrary to popular belief, the poinsettia is not poisonous. Research has shown that a child would have to eat more than 500 leaves from the poinsettia plant to experience any really serious effects. -

The Aztec used the poinsettia to make a red dye, and they used its sap to control fevers. -
