They won't go that small, because the smaller you go, the more predators, or threats, you have.
  3. The word remedial come from the Latin remedium/remedialis, meaning a cure or medicine.
  4. I believe some remedial action is needed in Congress to make it functional again.

I agree with you. The problem right now is that humans are busy hunting all of the predators and throwing the ecology out of balance. Humans are hunting wolves, coyotes, bears, big cats, and even some large birds and throwing their numbers into extinction level status, thus leaving all the prey they would control to over populate. Humans no longer value beaver pelts, so they aren't hunting the beavers, which leave other problems.

Not you in particular, but I thought someone might think of the cartoon versions.

I suppose that might be a possibility and I'm sure the forest service is keeping on eye on that situation.

Thanks, Al. Yes, beavers can make valuable contributions, but they can also do great harm. I'm not sure if one outweighs the other. Thanks for your response.
  10. Chapter 34 – A Greater Understanding I could hardly sleep that night, because I was eager to learn how the shaman was going to answer my question. I was quite restless and couldn’t stop thinking about it, so it took a while before I finally drifted off to sleep. When I did, I dreamed about different ways the shaman might answer my question. When I awoke the next morning, I quickly devoured my breakfast, but the others didn’t seem to be in as big a hurry to find out what the shaman
  11. Amethyst is the birthstone for February, and due to its purple color it is often associated with royalty. Remember, in the U.S. Presidents George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Ronald Reagan all had February birthdates.
  12. Quartz is also refined to yield silicon, which is used in computers and other modern technology.
  13. When I was a teenager, I remember one of the biggest selling points in watches were the ones with quartz crystals. It was something new, and of course a big deal.

    Chapter 30 S1

You're wrong about one thing, when you say he transitioned into something he'd never seen before. If you remember back to his freshman year in college when they were trying to figure out a way to cope with their noisy neighbors. He went with Devin to follow them out to a remote location where Devin transitioned into Bigfoot so they could film them. He even gave Mac a demonstration about what he'd transitioned into, as well as being able to see the videos that their neighbors took of Bigfoot. However, I agree, he's proved to be very talented so far.

  17. Clever, Steve. I love how you put your lyrics about the anthology to the Sinatra hit, New York, New York! 👍
  18. And don't confuse quaff with coif. Even though they sound similar, coif means to style hair.
  19. Quaff reminds me of college frat parties.

Cliffhangers make sure you keep coming back for more. 😈 And as far as if this is an evil skinwalker, it's a valid assumption, and so is the idea that the shaman is testing them, but you'll have to read the next chapter to find out for sure.

All of Andy Weir's books are interesting. The Martian, Project Hail Mary, and Artemis. Each one different, but each one is five-star plus two.

    Chapter 1

Knowing he had a limited amount of time to find his old man, since he'd combined his sick leave and personal time together, it was an odd choice to take this adventure in the first place. However, it proved to be an interesting story, especially the dream sequence, but you left me hanging. I need a conclusion. I have to know if Harlon found his father, if his father could understand the message, and if the old man had a response for Harlon's mother. Then, I'd want to know about Harlon's trip back home and how his mother reacted to what had happened, if she was still alive. So, Carl, after your operation, and I wish you all on the best during that period, but Carl, you've got some 'splainin' and writin' to do after you recover.
  23. If you enjoy Science Fiction, and especially if you've read and enjoyed Andy Weir's book Project Hail Mary, then this is a must read for you. Aaron Stone has opened us up to a fantastical universe of different creatures, and although I was skeptical at first that he was going to be able to pull it off, he did an outstanding job of making me believe in everything he presented. This is a truly wondrous journey and you won't want to miss reading this intriguing short story.

A truly fascinating story and you successfully brought all of the races to life. The interaction between Rohm and Aeri reminded me of Andy Weir's book Project Hail Mary where he had a human interact with a totally different and unusual species. A job well done. Kudos!
