    Graduation Is Near

Thank you, and I hope you continue to enjoy this story.
  2. This is the perfect time to have 'cider' as the word of the day, since the fall is generally considered prime cider time, and don't forget about 'hard cider'. There's nothing better than having a good cider and donuts/doughnuts for a fall break or on Halloween. It helps to remind me of my childhood, many eons ago.
  3. I wasn't referring to a soothsayer using the entrails of an animal to make a prediction. I was saying that stabbing yourself with an awl was awl-ful.
  4. That's awl-ful.
  5. Paraphrasing a line from a Beatles song: Will you still need me, will you still read me, now I'm seventy-four.

    Chapter 23 S1

Ste, I saw that you were reacting to each chapter as you read them and I'm glad to finally hear from you. I'm glad you are enjoying this story and I hope you continue to enjoy it. The chapters at the reservation should prove very interesting. Thank you for your support.
  7. I believe Myr wishes I wasn't bedeviled by so many things.

    Chapter 23 S1

Sure, if they knew where they were staying and what they'd have to work with. I think you'll see when they get to the reservation why that wouldn't work out.

    Chapter 5 - Patrick

Read on, McDuff, and all will become clear.

    Chapter 23 S1

I didn't say they'd be eating all their meals off the reservation, but because the Navajo Nation is a poor nation, they don't want to take food that someone else could be eating. They be getting a good taste of the local cuisine.

    Chapter 23 S1

    Ah, sorry. I misunderstood.
  12. It could be better or it could get worse. Look at this comparison. When Lincoln gave the Gettysburg Address he spoke for 2 minutes, but he was preceded by Edward Everett, who spoke for 2 hours, which was typical for speakers at that time.

    Chapter 23 S1

Yes, we all have very high expectations of Mac, so we'll soon find out how he is doing. I think this is going to be the start of interesting and informative chapters for all.

    Chapter 23 S1

That's very true, but I'm being hopeful.
  15. Yes, that's very true. Since he's still single and doesn't have his own family, Robert is just a big kid at heart.

    Chapter 23 S1

I guess that is always a possibility, but be patient and you shall discovered what you seek.

    Chapter 23 S1

For those who don't get Danilo's first comment, it's from the Castaway Hotel. Mark Williams is the young man Josh helped out and is now taking care of all of the financial affairs of both the family and the charitable foundation they run to help others. Danilo, if you're suggesting a bank robbery, I don't believe Devin would do that. Remember, he has to use his ability to do good, not evil. And I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter.

    Chapter 23 S1

Yes, I'm sure they are all anxious to see a couple of things. The first is what the reservation is like, since Pops is the only one who's been there, and the second is for Mac to discover what his training will be like. Some of those questions will be answered in the next chapter.

    Chapter 23 S1

You'll see, but my guess is they'll be making quite a few trips off the reservation to get their meals.

    Chapter 23 S1

Yes, those statistics are accurate, but hopefully that won't happen, since they are guests of the shaman.

    Chapter 23 S1

Yes, Devin and Mac are doing very well at college, and some of that may be attributed to the fact that they developed some very good study skills in high school. After all, they didn't get to be valedictorians without having good study skills.
  22. Yes, they manage to do a lot of fun things together.
  23. Yes, Robert is the only one who's single and doesn't have a family to worry about, so he can be the happy-go-lucky uncle that all of the kids like. Yes, I'm sure you are sad when you have to leave your daughters because of your job, but hopefully it isn't for extended periods of time.

    Chapter 23 S1

The grandfathers have never mentioned anything to explain why they have such good hearing, so I can't give you an answer, but since they don't age as rapidly as the rest of us, it may be that they've always had good hearing. As far as Devin's A minus in Personal Finance, that was merely the elective he chose to fulfill one of the Core Curriculum requirements that everyone has to take, but he never explained why he only got an A minus in it. Since it was an elective, it's possible he didn't worry as much about that course as those in his majors and merely overlooked something during his studies.
  25. Chapter 23 – Another Sendoff After we had supper with his parents, Devin made a comment to his dad. “I hope you don’t mind, but we want to go to Raskin’s Café so we can check our grades before we leave in the morning. We’ll have to order something because that’s the way we pay for them letting us use their Wi-Fi, so we’ll just have dessert.” “Ok, but let me give you some money to cover the tab.” “Thanks, Dad,” Devin said as he took the bills. Yeah, thanks, Mr. McCaskill.
