If you enjoy poetry, then you won't want to miss reading these two beautiful poems. The first is a tribute to the author's mother and he provides details that leave you feeling as if you almost knew her. It provides descriptions that gives you a brief glimpse of how she may have appeared on a given day, as well as a tribute to the fact that she would bend, but never break, and was always there for him. In the second poem, the author pays a heartfelt homage to the moon. He is deeply in touch with its phases and relates to how it affects his life. I believe too many of us simply ignore the moon or just take it for granted, but it has a much deeper meaning for the author.

Please accept my belated response, but I found these two poems to be beautifully written, Gary. The tribute to your mother is stunning and almost makes me feel as if I knew your mother. At least I got a brief glimpse of her from the descriptions you provided. The second poem wonderful and heartfelt homage to the moon, something which I think all too many of us simply ignore or just take for granted. Well done.

An enjoyable look at how a gay man navigates his life, managing the demands of his job and family, while also worrying about the dogs that he may encounter as he walks from the bus stop to his front door. The story is very detailed and includes many details that you will find interesting, and if you're like me, after reading it you will be left wanting more. For me, that's the only reason I gave it four-stars instead of five, because I thought the story could have included much more.

Carl, I know I'm late to this party, but I want to thank you for this sweet story, I just wish there was more of it. You had me scared for a brief time, since I thought Bob was going to discover the fire was his house going up in flames and I was worried about his hubby and the kids. I was also disappointed in Rene, although that's the attitude of many Catholics. However, I was encouraged that Denny invited Bob and Chris to his house for the Fourth of July outing and his sister has a wife and her brother-in-law has a husband. It was nice that Bob and Chris had two kids, even though their daughter was still a foster child. I would have liked to find out how the Fourth of July went, and I'd also like to find out what happened to Jamie's parents. I know, I'm one of those demanding readers that always wants more. Anyways, I still enjoyed the story.

I've faced several days like that: one with my grandmother, one with my grandfather, one with my father-inl-law, one with my mother-in-law, and one with my mom. I'm glad yours had a better ending, and I hope all future bouts turn out as well. I wasn't that fortunate and this poem brought back many dark memories, but I enjoyed it just the same. Well done.
