  1. Thank you, Dan. I'm glad you enjoyed this story. It is one of my earliest stories, but it still draws a lot of readers, and I'm glad you were one of them.
  2. And don't forget the progression of razors for the straight razor, to the Gillett Safety Razor, razors that used single-edge or double edge blades, to the disposable razors, and today razors with all types of disposable blades. And then there are a variety of electric razors and even razor scooters. It's no longer as simple as it was for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
  3. I'm glad you said nose. I thought you might suggest another appendage.
  4. @wildone said, "you all are invited . You can all crash on my new couch " Hmmm, that should be cozy and interesting! 😈
  5. Culinary, a word that is dear to my heart, palate, stomach, and expanding waistline.
  6. It doesn't say where Spike is currently residing, but with that feather coat I hope it's somewhere cool. I take it Spike is a juvenile, because otherwise he would have lost the feathers already.
  7. In other words, when we say bicuspids we mean the molars or wisdom teeth, however for some people they don't give them too much wisdom.
  8. And sometimes the herd seems to be headed toward a cliff.
  9. Having grown up on a farm, I'm very familiar with the word bovine, but the political arena has given it an entirely new meaning for me, as Myr and Raven have pointed out. .
  10. I wonder if he got the dual meaning his sign had? It's obvious this place isn't in the Bible Belt or he offend to many people and would probably be picketed by the local churches. And the minnow shot? A drink with a live minnow swimming around in it? I guess to each their own.

    Chapter 4 S1

Yes, there is still on long, long way to go on this story. I'm glad you're enjoying it.
  12. Yes, I see that as being very auspicious as well.
  13. Yes, I know that, but why can't there be a Lassie and Laddie together. lol
  14. And my family had a collie named Laddie when I was growing up. I guess they gave it that name hoping it would become as famous as Lassie.
  15. Yes, the average height during the middle ages was around 5 feet (152 cm), so imagine was it was like during Biblical times. Goliath may have been considered a giant if he was 6 feet (183 cm) or more.
  16. I'm not sure about that, but I'd be careful about the water on the Gulf Coast.
  17. And quite often I have to draw upon memories from when I was a wee little lad.

I hate to contradict you, but read my response to Danilo.

    Chapter 7 S1

I believe a game similar to bocce originated in Egypt and was later picked up by the Greeks and Romans. I'm sure it was soon absorbed by others in the Roman Empire or those captured by Alexander the Great, so I'm sure there are many different versions of the game being played now. Sorry to make you wait a week to see how this situation turns out, but...

Your second comment is correct, so just use a pair of gloves to protect those fingernails. I hope you don't mind chewing on cotton or leather until then.

    Chapter 7 S1

There are many ways this situation might end, so just keep hoping for the best. Devin has an advantage that the guy doesn't know about, so let's hope the guy doesn't have an advantage that Devin doesn't know about - like a weapon.

    Chapter 7 S1

Yes, following a nice family celebration, the boys head of to college and things suddenly heat up. It will definitely be interesting if these joint celebrations continue, to make it easier on the boys, but first they'll have to get past this little situation. I hope you can hold out a week to discover how it turns out.
