I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter and I envy you. I would love to make a trip there so I could get to see the reservation and those who live there while learning about their culture. Researching those things online isn't nearly as stimulating or enjoyable.

It is egregious when people can see wrong being done and will either ignore it or find a way to justify it. It is what happened with the Nazi party in the 1930s and 40s, and there are many other examples of the same thing happening at other times. -
However, speaking with candor about how workers are being treated by their employers has increased with the revival of labor unions.

I'm amazed that governments are suddenly interested in returning or going to the moon. It has been 50 years since the last US mission there and it is said the Chinese have run missions on the dark side of the moon, and the US also seems to be interested in returning to the moon. Have these governments, including the UK, discovered or suspect something more about the moon that wasn't know previously?

I'm glad you enjoyed the background story, even though it might not have been what you were expecting or what you'd heard previously about skinwalkers. I hope I don't disappoint your high expectations as the story progresses.

Yes, I'm sure many people who used the outhouses had many stories to tell. We had indoor plumbing when I was growing up, but I worked for a farmer that still used the outhouse, so I did too, at least while I was working. Those were the days, just not the good ol' days.

Speaking of spiders, I've known since I moved to Georgia that there are Brown Recluse spiders here, but yesterday my neighbor informed me that there was a Black Widow spider and her egg sac just outside my door. He borrowed my Raid to spray it and the egg sac, and then he used a stick to dispose of it, but now I'm constantly looking around the house for more Black Widow spiders, along with any Brown Recluse spiders that might happen to be inside as well.

There was a great deal in that chapter. and as to how much any of the others know about the shaman and how involved he was in Isaac's transformation, that will come up in a later chapter, although I'm not saying how soon it will appear. An encounter with an evil skinwalker is a possibility, since they're close to where they have been spotted, but I'm not going to say if it will happen or not. If I were to confirm or deny each of your guesses/assumptions, then what incentive would any of you have to keep reading?

That's an interesting question, but I won't answer it now, because it may com e up in one of the upcoming chapters. And yes, the Haatali and his son are doing similar things that Isaac and Jacob are doing when moving from one life to the next. After all, there are only so many choices that they have to hide what they're doing.

I cannot tell you how shocked I was when I saw that @Myr had selected this word as the Word of the Day, since I was certain that the majority of English speaking people already knew what it meant in common usage. Thankfully, I've discovered that this word has a meaning different from the common street usage of the word. Nice sleight of hand, Myr.

That is very true. The immature mind may take to living in a fantasy world to help him/her forget about the abuse, or they may develop an alternative personality to deal with the things it doesn't want to or is unable of dealing with. With the trafficking problem that exists, are new victims being created every day, week, or month that we may have to deal with in the future?

Weinerdog, as far as the other Diné are aware, all skinwalkers are evil and hideous, but if they discovered that Isaac was a skinwalker and not hideous, they may just assume that the evil skinwalkers have found a way to take on a normal appearance, rather than that he's a good skinwalker.
