I wanted to bolt out of the hohrahn to greet them, but the shaman told me to wait until they came inside. Chris, I was afraid of that. It's too bad that Chuck didn't arrange for someone to take over the site after him and operate it in his memory. Chuck will be deeply missed, but at least he is no longer suffering.

If you like mysteries with interesting, yet flawed characters, this is a story you'll want to read. Krista sets up a compelling, yet heartbreaking, situation where everyone pulls the short straw, but it doesn't end there. She then takes you on a roller coaster ride as Jace, the main character, tries to run and hide, while at the same time trying to deal with what happened. Her descriptions of what's going on makes you feel as if you are going through it and experiencing everything for yourself. You'll be doing yourself a disservice if you don't take time to read this evocative and riveting story.

A compelling and riveting tale, but it screams for a follow up. Did Jace's mom get convicted or did enough people wake up and admit to what a bastard her husband was. I'm sure many of them felt his inhumanity and harsh superiority at one time or another, so maybe they broke and 'fessed up. What happened to Jace after Ty let him go? Did he end up getting lost in a cave or fall into a sinkhole, or did he escape the long arm of the law? And did Jace and Ty hook up again in the future, or did Ty get in trouble when Jace got caught later, after others saw the marks on Jace's wrists and knew he had been handcuffed at some point? You need to write a follow up and answer all of those questions. Now that you've taken my order, I want to go back and discuss something from the early part of the story. After Jace killed his dad, he went up to the bathroom vomited and washed his hands, and at one point he looked in the mirror and noticed his face was splattered with blood. His clothes must have been splattered with blood as well, after swinging the bloody bat around, but yet that's the way he ran away with his mother. Wasn't he thinking clearly enough to know that if someone had seen him that way they'd be curious about where all that blood came from? Wouldn't they have notified the police about what they saw and indicate they wondered what he might have done to get that bloody? That bugged me for a long time, at least until he took a shower in the ranger station and washed it off his body, but there were still the bloody clothes. Sorry, some things just stand out to me and I can't get them out of my head, but it was a terrific story and I couldn't stop reading. Thanks for sharing, Krista.

According to the definition I learned, marmots are large ground squirrel in the genus Marmota. The yellow-bellied marmot lives in the western US, and the hoary marmots are found from Idaho to Alaska. That genus also includes ground hogs, woodchucks, and prairie dogs, because they are all considered to be large ground squirrels. Many in this group are noted for standing upright and whistling when there is danger.

This was the go to word my cousins and I would use when we couldn't come to an agreement on what we wanted to do that afternoon, that day, or that weekend. We all lived fairly close to one another and spent plenty of time together, but we could seldom agree on anything, so there was always a spoilsport or two during every discussion.

Talk about your boyfriend from hell! I thought Pieter wanting to carry Rowen over the threshold was sweet, although I thought he was being to forceful when he grabbed Rowen so forcefully and left marks on his arm, but now it all makes sense I also thought it strange that a botanist who had his own garden wanted meat on his pizza and 'none of that green stuff', but it all became clear later when I discovered he was the on of the Green Man. Thanks for this intriguing and fanciful story. It was just sad to see Rowen lose his father and fiance at the same time.

Some people get peevish over how others drive. The extreme example of this is road rage.

A well written 'coming out story', although this time with an older character. Zane is an accountant who's questioning whether he's attracted to men, so he decides to go a location where he might be able to find the answer to this question. It's there that he meets another man, who in some respects is his complete opposite, yet in other ways they have much in common. They strike up a conversation and each one ends up telling the other his story, but is it enough to strike a romantic spark between them that will lead to something more? I suggest you read this story to find out.

Adi, A very enjoyable story and I could relate to both Zane and FeniX. With some thing, I'm like Zane and plan out every contingency, and other times I'm like Fenix and just do whatever feels right at the time. However, in this case it seems as if the two sides of my personality, in the persona of Zane and Fenix, will mesh together nicely. Well done.

I'm sure that many of you have gotten to the point where you no longer enjoy your job and would like to quit, but then what would you do? What if fate gave you an option after you were caught up in an unexpected event? Not only that, but you might have even found someone who might end your loneliness of having no one special in your life. Well, that's what happens in this story, and even though I've given away some highlights of this story, it's the details that you'll find enjoyable. It's well worth the read!

If you're looking for a cute coming of age story, this might be what you're looking for. Jamison is a 14-year-old closeted gay boy that's taking his first trip without his parents, so he's already excited as he sets off to visit his brother, who's in college. While waiting at the bus station for the bus that will take him there, he has one of those heart pounding encounters, but it doesn't end there. If this intrigues you, then read this story to find out what happened next.

I know it took a while for me to get to this, but it was worth the wait. I could relate to everything that Jamison was going through and feeling, because I've been there and done that as well. Like some of the others, I was hoping they'd be a little quicker at getting in touch again - a phone call, a text, or even an email - but not just a long, uneasy silence, but ho well. I guess that will leave you with a starting point for another anthology. Thanks, Comsie, great story!

And I have use shellac many, many times over the years and never realized that it's source was a small, Asiatic insect. I always thought it was something a scientist had created in a lab. Of course, it took someone to figure out that if they scraped the dried off residue and dissolved it in alcohol that it would make a varnish that could be used to form a protective coating on furniture and paintings, but it still all began with an insect.
