  1. I have many different habiliments as an author. When writing a mystery story I wear a deerslayer hat, when writing my Halloween stories I put on a mask, when writing my Christmas stories I dress like Santa Claus, and when writing the love scenes - well, I wear nothing. 😈

Yes, Daddyd, I agree it's reasonable, but it may not be exactly what it seems.

@Foggybear I'm curious as to why you left the angry emoji at the end of this chapter. I'd appreciate an explanation so I'd know what I did to upset you.

    Chapter 1 S1

First of all, Don't assume too much about Devin too quickly. The difference between Mickey and Mikey is basically a preference of the individual and/or his parents. Both are acceptable nicknames for Michael. As far as Mc and Mac, Mc is the start of Irish surnames, such as McCarthy, McCann. and McNally. as well as Scottish surnames, such as McDonald, McKeller, and McPhee. Mac is the start of Irish surnames such as MacCormack, MacDermot, and MacNamara, as well as Scottish surnames such as MacAllister, MacGregor and MacNeil. Therefore, you can see that Mc and Mac are used in both Celtic and Gaelic names, so you can't make generalities about a person's origin by merely categorizing the Mc as Irish and Mac as Scottish. You have to look at and compare the surnames to determine their origin. I hope this helps.
  12. Chris, I'm glad this excites you. I hope that feeling continues as the story progresses.
  13. Chapter 1 – How It All Began I was thinking back on how I’d first met Devin. It happened when I was riding the school bus as we made our way to the first day of kindergarten. Oh, I’d seen him playing outside his house before while I was with my parents in the car, because his family lived next door to us. Well, his house wasn’t exactly next door, because our houses were approximately 250 yards (228.6 m) apart, but the properties abutted one another, so that was close enough. We li
  14. Michael MacPherson and Devin McCaskill are neighbors, but they don’t meet until they start kindergarten. They immediately become fast friends and inseparable, but it’s becoming clear that something isn’t as it seems. After an incident happens, Devin’s family suddenly moves away. Michael is devastated when he loses contact with his best friend. A few years later, after Michael graduates from high school and is preparing to enter college, Devin suddenly reappears. Is it too late or will the boys be able to rekindle their friendship – or possibly more?
  15. When I was younger, there were women who were named Blithe or Blythe, which meant carefree or cheerful. I suppose there are women that still have that name, but I'm just not familiar with them.

  21. And authors are often very persnickety when crafting a story. Editors might also be persnickety about punctuation.

  24. Well, English has an Anglo-Saxon connection, so it shouldn't be too weird. In fact, the British Royal family was somewhat proud of their German ancestry. Don't forget that Queen Victoria's husband, Prince Albert, came from that region, although it wasn't Germany yet, as did George I.
