Even though some views are changing overall, there will always be groups that won't grow and change with the times and will continue to cling stubbornly to the past.

AC, thanks for the feedback and kind review. There is still a lot to be accomplished in the LGBT community, and unfortunately the transgendered is the group that's lagging farthest behind. Let's hope that situation improves quickly, otherwise a bunch of young kids will be dealing with situations that even people far older would find difficult to deal with.

Were they at the wrong place (Amber vs Ember)? Where was the other couple? Was this an early Halloween story? Inquisitive minds want to know. lol I certainly won't be visiting any elegant, old hotels in the near future. Definitely short, to the point and no mistaking the mood.

Thanks, craftingmom. I'm hoping this might help one or more of the young transgendered kids out there who are suffering from a lack of understanding from those around them. Maybe someone will read this and finally come to the realization of what they're going through. Thanks for the feedback.

Good job with a tricky subject. I would like to find out more about Ryan, but I'd like to know how Neil made out too. There are some good people out there that try to help, but unfortunately there are probably more than that willing to turn their back on someone in need or heap more grief upon them. Take a bow.

When I first saw the title, I thought you had misspelled Tale as Tail... how silly of me. Wayne, are you a descendant of the Brothers Grimm? Nice story and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even though I suspected Marc's rescuer was an offspring of Poseidon (Neptune) from the first description, the story was interesting enough and well written, so I couldn't stop reading. Another intriguing theme and I hope you expand it. There is a lot more I'd like to know about Marc and Triton's relationship. A job well done!

Thanks again, Wayne. A word of advice to the younger members of GA. Getting old is handled best by the brave, but if you can't be brave, at least be graceful about entering the fall and winter of your lives.

Thanks, Wayne, and you hit the nail on the head. It's so hard for most people to understand what it's like being gay or that we didn't make the choice. Too many times, even the gay community isn't as sympathetic to the plight of the transgendered, who have an even worse situation. How do you deal with the fact that who your are physically doesn't match with who you are in your mind and in your heart? I hope that in some small way this story might help at least a few of them.

Unfortunately, that seems to be what it's all coming down to. Let's hope Pope Francis' fresh approach to the poor and the environment has an impact on those who can do something about it.

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts completely. The father's control over everyone, whether they were his family or his employees, put everyone else in a very uncomfortable situation. Wayne, you always seem to come up with some unusual stories and this one totally fascinated me. Not only was the topic different, but it was handled with a great deal of sensitivity and painted a beautiful picture. I would like to know how Jimmy made out though, and I'd also like to know if Gabe ever had his run-in with the Fallen. If so, how did he make out? Thanks for sharing this marvelous story with us.

Thanks for the feedback, Val. This was very difficult for me to write, since I have no experience with this topic, but recent events and stories I've read about young people going through this made me do some research and attempt to broach a topic I was unfamiliar with. I hope it comes across as being sincere, and not preachy or just being politically correct.

Thanks for the feedback, Wayne. I merely used history as my guide when writing this, along with the realization that some people will not stop until they get their way. When they have money and power it's difficult to stop them, but we can't give up!

Val, thank you for another intriguing story. Like the others commenting above, I too was sad that everyone turned against Nick, but it only proves that bad things happen when you attempt to go against nature. Just like the old saying that 'you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear', you also can't turn a gay guy straight. There may be a temporary effect where he may be able to overcome his natural instincts or possibly even fool them by envisioning something else taking place, but in the long run the truth will win. Thanks for sharing.

Val, a very lovely piece. Being my age, I always think about what it will be like when that time comes. Will I be reunited with family and friends, including old lovers? Will I be able to reclaim some of my youth or will I be stuck in this old shell for eternity? Even though you may not have any direct knowledge of how it works, your story gave me some hope. Let's pray that this is the way it ends. Thanks for the touching story.

Thanks, Val. Even though I wrote this several weeks ago, I think recent events are proving my point. Some of the same strategies and tactics are being resurrected from the fight against civil rights.

Stanollie, thanks for the feedback. I think the intentional dumbing down of society is a goal of some, so the majority never figures out they're being swindled and taken advantage of.
