Thanks, Butch, (and I hope you don't mind me shortening Butcher). Yes, Adam runs into things nearly everyplace he goes, but if you think about it, haven't you run into many similar situations where you wished you could have done something to help? There will be more of these situation in his future too, so he will he deal with each one?

    Building Confidence

You're right, Butch. Adam has to find a way to reinforce his suggestions so they last longer. But how will he do it? Thanks for the feedback.
  4. Happy Birthday, Myr! The big 4-0, huh big guy? Who'd have thunk all those years ago that we'd still be doing this? I wish you all the best on your special day! And I hope you have a great one and may you enjoy many, many more.
  5. Yes, Butch, that would be the trick. Avoiding the temptation to use it to benefit yourself, rather than doing something good for others. Thanks for the feedback.

    A Change of Heart

Thanks, Stix. Ryan is an interesting character and we'll see how he continues to grow.
  13. The next week started off fairly uneventful, but that all changed on Thursday morning when I went to wake Ryan. As soon as he opened his eyes, an expression of horror crossed his face. "What's wrong?" I asked, wondering what caused his reaction. Ryan's face started to turn red, so I had a feeling that whatever the problem, it was at least mildly embarrassing for him. I waited for a response, and after several seconds he finally spoke. "I think I wet the bed, but I haven't don

  19. Once Dad arrived home, things were even less hectic for us, because he'd taken over many of the duties we'd assumed after he left for Georgia. This gave each of us more time to spend with our sons, even though we tried to help Dad as much as we could so he didn't have to do all the work. On Saturday, we kept our promise and took the boys swimming again, but this time Dad joined us too. When we went into the locker room to change, Ryan undressed and nonchalantly put his clothes in the loc

    An Unusual Week

Thanks, Stix, but it's still early to be choosing a favorite chapter. I agree, though, that it's nice to see Ryan adapting to being part of the family.
