  1. It's great to see kids supporting someone with a disability, rather than making fun of him. I am very moved right now.
  2. Welcome, MGK! You'll find out this is a fun and welcoming community.
  3. Happy Birthday, Slytherin!
  4. Happy Belated Birthday, W_L! I hope it was a truly great one and I apologize that this was tardy! I'd also like to wish you many, many more!
  5. It's a wonderful and historic day, but don't expect the battle to be over. Just like with the issue of Civil Rights and abortion, the battle goes on long after the politicians and courts have spoken. Just rejoice and celebrate this momentous occasion, but be prepared for the next attack to come.
  6. I loved that show. RIP Patrick Macnee and thanks for all the wonderful memories.
  7. An interesting and very sad article I found. How many of you were aware of this? http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/06/25/1396297/-Forty-Two-Years-Ago-Today-The-Worst-Mass-Murder-Of-Gay-People-In-US-History?detail=email
  8. Happy Birthday, Stellar! I hope it's a truly great one and wish you many, many more!
  9. Kieren and the others continued to angle across the mountain slope for quite some time, but the going was slow and arduous. For this reason, they hadn’t put a great deal of distance between themselves and their attackers. Alairic was beginning to worry the snow apes might be following and possibly catching up to them, so he looked over his shoulder to see what the creatures were doing. He was relieved when he spotted their furry, white coats still lingering on the valley floor below, but it w
  10. Happy Birthday, CM!
  11. I find it slightly ironic that the father supposedly did this to protect them, but then he allowed them to watch over 10,000 movies. He protected them from the real world by allowing them to view the fictional violence instead? Now that they are out in the public, I hope they don't attempt to play out some of the scenes the enjoyed, such as scenes from Pulp Fiction.
  12. After thinking he had heard Beraut give him a final warning, Kieren fell into formation and began to follow Qaim, as the aignx led them toward Treblanc. Hadwin and the dwarfs walked directly behind their new leader, while the boys took their position in the middle of the formation. This left Alairic, Rhys and Turquinine to bring up the rear of the group. Although the others could see Kieren still wasn’t acting as he normally would have, they didn’t become overly concerned or try to engag
  13. It's a shame this is necessary, but kudos to this young man for offering a solution to a burgeoning problem.
  14. Happy Birthday, Bob! Sorry I almost missed this, but you're an inspiration to me. Only 20 years to catch you!
  15. Happy Birthday, Valkyrie!
  16. Another great one has fallen, but he had a marvelous and long life. RIP, Christopher!
  17. Beraut’s dwarf guide knocked on the door of King Brolin’s private dining hall and a servant opened it a few seconds later. As the wizard stepped inside, he could see the king and a couple of his military leaders had been merely sitting and chatting with each other before he arrived. Noting this, he concluded they had either not received his message or chosen to ignore his suggestion to begin the meal without him. “Good evening, Beraut,” the king greeted him, just as soon as the wizard pa
  18. Even though George Carlin died in 2008, his words are just as relevant today... maybe even more so. Isn't it amazing that George Carlin - comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent...and so very appropriate. A Message by George Carlin: The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness. We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less. These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete... Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever. Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side. Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent. Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you. Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again. Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind. AND ALWAYS REMEMBER: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. If you don't send this to at least 8 people....Who cares? George Carlin
  19. Happy Birthday, Scotty!
  20. Hi Lawrencium and welcome to the GA family.
  21. When Kieren opened his eyes the next morning, he noticed most of the others were already up and going about their business. For some reason, they had let him sleep much later than anyone else. Realizing how late it was, Kieren jumped up and went off to search for Beraut. He was determined to confront the wizard and make him understand his point of view this time. The teen also hoped that when he finished stating his case the wizard would come to the same conclusion, change his mind and
  22. Mine would have to be 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' by the Beatles.
  23. Congratulations!
  24. When Rhys went off to follow Kieren, the rest of the company watched in stunned silence as they tried to comprehend what had caused Kieren to react the way he had. A few minutes later, after the warrior and teen had disappeared completely from sight, the others concluded they wouldn’t be able to solve this conundrum quickly, so they began to turn their attention to more pressing personal matters. Following Turquinine’s lead, Hadwin and Alairic were the next to begin digging through their packs
  25. It's always sad to see someone pass, but tragically in an accident makes it slightly worse. RIP John Forbes Nash Jr. and Mrs. Nash.
