What did he, Jason expect surely he must of known he had no chance of even getting anything other than a polite kiss or hug from Isidore, she was looking after Ace her only child. Anything else was just doing business. Relationships are quite difficult as with life one does not always get what they want.

The last paragraph sums up this chapter in a gentle loving way. All things beforehand are left in the past. Jp and Jeff look forward, to their father, learning to accept them as a couple. Ace will become the centre of their world in the new condo. The story gets better, great writing 👍

" ouch" Not the best homecoming, after the trauma of Billy's death followed by the funeral. Jp would have thought he was having a nightmare when finding the Condo' trashed and his friend strung up in the bathroom. Still being arrested and escorted home by a like-minded policeman. Sometimes good comes from adversity.

This chapter is just so loving in the way you have set it up. Jp was able to talk openly with his mother's husband, and also with his birth father. And as that song says,( love changes everything ) it's all good.

If nothing else Jp has his mothers poise and makers when things get hectic. As for Stefan, what can one say!😱

When I first read of theThresher being the sub that Billy was assigned to. That period flashed before my eyes and was aghast to know where it would end. As with many things as time passes they become the history of our time. Thresher is one of great impact and still no real reason is known why it was lost. Well written as we have come to expect.

I find the abuse of Ronnie disturbing, I understand the role play but being cruel to others, just because one can, does not sit well with me. However I know this is the story you have set to paper, also you did mention at the beginning of the piece there was some abuse. Yet I continue to read what really is an interesting piece.

This chapter was so not real on many fronts. One it was the rape of a student. Two if he were to go to the police both perpetrators would be charged of said rape and lost their positions at the university. Also this takes a lot away from the story which until now has been quite believable.

While you had given hints that this would happen, the shock that comes with the sad reality of war, and the debacle that was Vietnam made it so much harder to accept. The story just gets better with each chapter, thank you

The fragility of gay life in the mid-sixties was stressful for many. I can understand both men thinking they were in a good place.

What is it with some blokes? They get a hard on . Fool themselves into a gay situation then go on a guilt trip the next time they realise the latest version of getting off, turned out gay. I just don't get it!

An extraordinary chapter, interesting to listen to both parents and sons trying to make up for lost years, quite emotional. Thank you😥

Was there ever to be a love for all time between J.J and Shaun? At such young ages, they were both most likely to drift apart. Shaun just took out his hurt and anger when he was most vulnerable. Such a harrowing loss at such a young age. Act in haste and some things can never be repaired.😥

Interesting escape from the hospital! Glad that he was able to meet up with the painter and son and be able to work for them. Not as much filling in made the story work better.👍

While I am enjoying this story I feel you are going into far to much detail. Still I shall continue and hope it gets to be much tighter than it has been.

I am saddened that the story has come to an unfinished ending. As it has been several years since it was last updated I am disappointed that we will not know how it is all resolved. Thank just the same for an interesting read.
