I am always hesitant to comment on a story long after it has been published but I’m driven by the comments section to leave a word or two. What an amazing conversation this piece of literature created. Fascinating to read what perspective the story is viewed from and who identifies with what or which. Powerful emotions evoked, no doubt about it. While there’s a sense of love-conquers-all there’s no way not to acknowledge the aftermath of choices made. A literal blind eye. Great read.

This chapter made a city boy consult the interwebs several times. Love that! Holy smokes that last scene in the corral? Beautiful. Had my eyes very wet. I suspect you’ll push me over the edge soon. This is a great read.

I’m intrigued by the casual sobriety references. I can’t quite see Connor as a wild child so I look forward to his ‘story’ in that regard. The ‘late bloomer’ aspect of the story is fascinating too. You’ve sent me off to look up things as well and I love learning new things. Thank you for that!
