    Chapter 85

Could be...he seemed quite incompetent. If he is a hitman, I hope he's a very bad one
  2. I like Maura Healey very much; I think she's a credit to my home state. There have long been stereotypes that gay people, especially men, are promiscuous, whatever that means. (I confess I didn't vote...I don't like the term.) The definition of 'promiscuous' and the associated judgement seems to change when people are speaking about a woman instead of a man. At some point since my own adolescence, the idea of 'slut-shaming' being negative and undesirable has become popular among young people. I think we're better for that. I don't think there should be guilt associated with something so fundamentally human and life-affirming, whatever gender(s) involved.

    Chapter 85

I like how Will handled the guy Curtis sent after info on Travis. Will continues to be my favorite. And it's nice to see Jack coming back around and not being a jerk about the band. Great chapter!
  4. It's an earworm, isn't it?! I could hear it clearly while reading...I'm also hoping for Reid and Max and curious about the fake flirting..
  5. I need to give this chapter extra ❤️❤️❤️ ...it was just lovely - thank you.
  6. I am re-reading the CJ stories again and taking some time to investigate various allusions Carlos made...I queried Stonewall Knights, and they're really a gay motorcycle club in south FL. Of perhaps more interest is that I ran across a NY Times article from 1998 which quoted Carlos a couple of times. I'm grateful for this small glimpse into his volunteer efforts. I'm attaching as a PDF in case the link doesn't work. https://www.nytimes.com/1998/12/02/us/2-decades-on-miami-endorses-gay-rights.html?unlocked_article_code=XFHYWlq0aHD1LYySZv6A1-pnuoZIX4MqYqTfYDfJHHu-rxBn7vFaJ5cX0gi_TZAZlxKwGNVv0k08MBRXmR4wENpm-QzAqKJqdStZQhjbiAgExGDdMusKD9e5FU_hAXkCw1R6NmUl43fJ9Mjb0KHz8TyJbAD7n5PI5F55KXf8B7MsI7rUvRpHcfVSm3z-TM7H4IBpbEyfMi9Z-DA7jQiTst5EJTzVavkHjXoLWVx-K3mFdhJ_itjtc-0geOZjnrgfnK8K2M-Hl5OnDdZcOwUAWUHwlxFFL-N9VvTk30p2KXxP0ya6V2JEipTmzIJfDlr-PiMi-hVsrYmslxhnLEKFfIIAlmRZpvsIETi2&smid=url-share 2 Decades On, Miami Endorses Gay Rights - The New York Times.pdf
  7. I am just now seeing this sad news. The CJ stories are ones I finished earlier this summer. It feels as if I knew Carlos a bit through his characters. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.

    Race

    Powerful. Thank you, Wayne.
  9. I don't care for it either...but I promise I didn't make it up! https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchen/manhattan-clam-chowder-recipe-2102639
  10. I don't think I've had it...only the white New England or tomato-based Manhattan...
  11. Wading in here...(Happy Birthday, Aaron!) How do you like your eggs? Scrambled? Over-medium? I need the runny part ooked, so scrambled or in an omelet or fried hard... What is your favorite story on Gay Authors, and why? Sooo hard! I have to say anything by @Wayne Gray because his characters are eminently likeable, so completely flawed, human. I want everything to work out for them. I'm also enjoying stories by @Headstall - the westerns and Malaise...I didn't think I would enjoy paranormal, but I'm glad I gave it a shot. (And I know I really need to leave more comments, reviews...I just feel like I'm very late to the game...) What brought you to GA? (Stalking Wayne from another site So happy to have found you tho!) If your life was a book, what would be the title? Shelter from the Storm What is your favorite soup? ...maybe French onion? or monastery stew (lentils)? or NE clam chowder (very decisive, I know...)
  12. I appreciate the recommendation. I am presently in the middle of Greg fixing up Clay's cabin, but I will look for it soon.
  13. I am another who enjoyed Grant and Troy's story the second time as much as the first! I found you on The Story Lover's Home a month or so back, where I started with the Camp Refuge stories and then binged the rest. You have a great talent for creating memorable characters and generating tension. Even the second time through, I was filled with anxiety about the journal and Troy's remarks to Beth about not marrying Grant. Writing Sandra as a complex, likeable, and ultimately redeemable character was also terrific. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. cLS
  14. I rediscovered GA recently. I live and work in Shanghai, and I've recently had a lot of time home alone due to COVID19 lockdown 2022. Reading about JJ and Henry has made this time much more enjoyable than it otherwise would have been. You tell engaging, compelling stories, and I'm grateful. Except for virtual work and sleep, I've barely put it aside in the past week. Thank you. Now, I'm off to find more of your treasures. cLS
