Queue cards work wonders for me, with different colours, I like bright reds greens and blues, cant stand trying to read just black it makes my eyes itch. Anyway I condense my notes on paper, and then recopy the notes onto cards Q and A and have people ask me questions. For essays I do somehting similar except instead of just an answer I make a brain storm in the answer section so say, What factors effect Cross contamination for instance I would put in the answer area all the different factors in bullet point. knowing the outline or basics can help you remember the more in depth stuff. Also when you're in the exam take the first 5 minutes to breathe, really read the Q, underline the relevant stuff "explain" "outline" "Describe" etc and then draw a plan. Good Luck! oh and DO NOT under any circumstance revise the night before. It just baffles you, nothing stays in and yeahjust relax to give your head some down time!

Hope you had a fantastic day m'love! a very belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
-
A JCB is one of those big ol' yellow digger machines, least I think it is and I'm glad you've had a good day today Neph, I hope this change in fortune continues!
-
I remember when I actually had a life, and wasn't in need of somebody (preferably a hunky somebody) to come and dig me from under a pile of books wth a JCB. Alas studenthood is awful this year... *giant whinge* anyway, I think I should live vicariously through all your lifes. Whats everyone been up to? doing? got planned?

From what I understand about drag is that it's existed for centuries, in different forms, for different reasons - from the female characters in shakespeares plays, to the male prostitutes in the molly houses of London. I personally find the allure of drag in its comedy - the bitchy snipes, diva moments and the caberet scene is damned funny. Granted they can be over the top sometimes and even I (I'm quite open-minded) feel a little unsettled. However I think that most men that dress in drag feel it allows them a glimpse at being feminine, donning a wig and some over teh top make-up lets them feel "special" and "beautified" because men "aren't supposed to preen infront of the mirror" The idea that men can't be feminine, I should think, causes them to almost create an alter ego: "Hi my names Gloria, Gloria Holes" (sans the wig) "Hi I'm Matt" That kinda thing, (I actually know someone with an alter ego called that) anyway so- 1) They get to feel feminine without doing it in Male character (if you will) 2) They get a shed loada attention doing so - you can go from quiet to loud and brassy. (guy from Boston Legal par example) 3) It's pretty funny 4) It puts you in the mind set of the opposite sex - which is an interesting if not complex place to be. I don't necc. think that drag is a sexualised thing... of all the men I've met that do drag not one of them goes out to hook up dress that way. In my experience it's either been as a dare - between straight guys (probably to emasculate each other - although they all laughed about it) been done whilst hammered (I donned a mini-skirt after a litre of whisky - we all got a laugh at how ridiculous I looked)or at a costume party - (my very straight masculine mate dressed as a cheerleader) anyway all of that is just my thoughts on it, and I dunno how or why men do it but hey each to there own. oh also, you don't have to be a screaming queen to do it either - they do probably make the best ones though. Like I said I've donned a skirt once or twice and I'm comfortable in who I am, and I don't think I'm either masculine nor feminine, I'm a bit of both, which I think everyone should be - the whole yin yan philosophy.

OOOH a cooking pot... like pots and pans... I don't know why that never clicked... I always thought because it was a kettle and a pot it was refering to an old style kettle - used in the kiln or on a hob which would boil the water to be added to a tea pot... thanks for clarifying that guys
-
I never understood the kettle pot saying, well I knew what it meant, but well... the pot never goes on the hob... so it doesn't get black...
-
Cheers guys and Kia, you look adorable! like a birthday princess!

So I had a Mad Hatter's tea party a week or so ago, it was awesome, I thought I'd share with, the food were delicious, and we all had an excellent time. I'd put the best costume up - the Queen of Hearts, but I dn't think the lady who its off would approve. lol then this weekend I attended Gay Pride: This piece of absolute gorgeousness is why I lvoe gay clubs Me and my mum and my best friend - I think I look odd here but its a funny pic so what the hey

First of I think the term "sex with strangers" needs clarifying, because sex can mean any number of things to any number of people. I answered No I wouldn't and there have been times when drunk, nothing usually happens, I'd just pass out in someones bed, however something could have happened, (once a guy wouldnt leave me alone so I just used a lil wrist action to get rid of him, so if sex takes into account a handjob then yeah I've done that.). Now after these I've always felt ashamed and angry with myself. Not because I abhore the act of anonymous sex, because quite frankly what two consenting adults do together in the privacy of their own well... wherever, thats up to them, I've felt bad because anything could have happened, I've lacked the ability to remember, and most likely full control of myself. (I'll admit I'm uptight so not having self control really makes me angry with myself) However I wouldn't choose to do it as I don't feel it's right for me... I don't want to have sex with someone until I trust them. I think sex comes more naturally to some than others. I find it awkward and yeah.. I don't want to give someone the kind of trust I think I should until I know them. So for me it's a no. I agree people do live in different worlds, dealing with different baggage. However I think it's about how you choose to carry that baggage which really makes the difference. Personally I just ignore my issuses, keep a stiff upper lip and trudge on.

Am I the only one that is a little uncomfortable with all this talk of murder and beating? I thought this was a site minors could come to? surely this subject is just as graphic as other things. I don't believe in revenge over petty things, or even if something bad happened that was an accident. The only time revenge should be exacted in my eyes is if someone maliciously hurts someone you care for. Even then however, I dot think murder can ever be truly condoned in revenge, unless it is used in self defence. revenge messes you up, you just have to let go. (and before any douches start rabbiting about how I'm too young and haven't lived through what they have - I've seen plenty, I've just learned to move on)

VIVE LA KATHY!! Love that woman, she is genuinely like... just awesome! I never used to agree about the protests for Gay marriage, as marriage is a religious sacrament, and just as religion shouldnt go anywhere near state law, state law shouldnt interfere with religion (unless its stopping psycho over zealous douches) Anyway after watching that and seeing that civil unions don't bestow the same benefits as "marriage" I'm all for the cause! I thought it was just a whinge about words... Pah!

I think part of what stopped them talking about their experiences was the old "British stiff upper lip" Bad things just weren't discussed, you just plodded on. I think this mentality is waning slightly, but still with us. Some people wont seek treatment for PTSD because of it. Of course the fact that the war was truly horrific is a major factor, but I do think the "plodding" mentality stopped some veterans dealing with it. anyway RIP harry!!

This is exactly the reason I went into Biomedicine! Its truly amazing what science can achieve! (yes scary if its in the wrong hands but amazing) As to the community and movement idea - well I dont see it... I know I'm too young to have experienced past events, bt even after the usual play ground bullying, I don't see it as us and them... I mean for instance the term "breeder" is just as offensive in my eyes as "faggot" Tolerance is improving, and if people live side by side, eventually acceptance will win out. Segregation is not something that will improve or help tolerence, nor is walking about with a chip. (not that I'm a saint/dont have my own chips) (all this talk of chips has made me hungry :| ) Everyone should just learn to live together without dividing themselves up. anyway back on point! A cure for HIV will hardly affect the way in which the "gay community" functions, and it wont be too soon for the cure to be administerable. Bring on more research!!

I enjoy the word myself it's usually good for getting a reaction. My new favourite sayng however is "what the fanny?!" instead of WTF its most effective in causing raucous laughter
