First off, good chapter to keep us engaged. Initial thoughts are that yes, Robbie needs to gain control of his gob as he calls it. His knee jerk reactions to the smallest inconveniences like Sue exercising her right as his now legal guardian, are a prime example vs how they choose to essentially ignore his orientation. Granted, that said, he’s barely functioning as a teen and hasn’t quite matured to the point of being able to pick his battles. Alas this isn’t going end well with Nathan. Speaking of Nathan, I think he flat out lied to Robbie about what happened with Alex. This is going to come back on him as soon as Robbie confronts Alex. Robbie is gonna not react well as while yes he lied too, he and Alex didn’t mess around when Nathan and Robbie became an item.

Ok the last week was a lot to unpack while Tom visited . Frankly, most of it seemed to revolve around Nathan vs anyone else. I have to agree with a lot of what was said above. I still held onto my reservations about Nathan from the beginning but was willing to give him the chance to prove me wrong. From the beginning he’s be nothing BUT a flirt. It’s clear Nathan knows more and is way more experienced in the realm of being sneaky for some freaky deaky. His inquiry about a 3 way confirmed that. Same with that no tell motel. Robbie was Nathan’s biggest trophy in his little world since his arrival especially since he was the new kid last yr in school and all. I wouldn’t be shocked at all if Alex was last yr’s big fish for Nathan being the star pitcher and stud. Nathan is very manipulative. Robbie is in denial about that. Tom was right as his tenured bestie to warn him. As for what he heard/saw, one thing has stood out to me especially this last week. Daniel and Nicola. They BOTH know something and im betting I has to do with Nathan and Alex. Daniel kept himself very distant. We don’t know what conversations he and Tom had in the bedroom behind closed doors and Tom seems to be the one who would ask questions to him regarding Nathan to Daniel and probably get some answers. I’m willing to bet that Nathan has made moves on Daniel (possibly Tom too) and when they got rejected that’s when he stopped coming around. Nicola I think knows that too. I think she’s onto Alex too. I wouldn’t be shocked if she’s putting 2 & 2 together with him and Nathan. I think they wanted to give Nathan a chance to be good for Robbie but unfortunately Nathan is too big a personality and his ego for it to be a long term thing. I think their relationship is going to crash and burn quickly. Alex is still recovering and I think now that Tom has gone back to the UK, I think Nathan is too much of a randy boy for sex that he’s gonna get caught by Robbie giving Alex (who is just as randy and can’t even date Rosie Palms) head or more. It’ll crush Robbie but I think it’ll be the only way for him to lose his rose colored glasses with Nathan. The only person who will be able to comfort him is going to be Rory. Rory is a bit of an empath. (I think he’s coming around to the rainbow team very very slowly. Perhaps not.) Robbie will be too pissed at the family for not saying anything and he will return to being his rebellious distancing self in regards to them. Amy will be the only one who won’t get the cold shoulder. I think Tom will get some too bc he didn’t warn him more. The next couple of chapters are going to be hard to stop reading. Bravo on this one

I’d have to add Randy as a very pursuable boyfriend from New Kid In Town. While Ryan is very cute and sexy … what attracts me most is Randy’s heart. Just like Zack. Just like Taryn or even Justin too. For me it’s always been the heart that mattered most. That’s how I always saw Comsie. That’s what hurts so much for me when I learned he passed. His heart was so caring. I’ll never understand why ppl who have such an amazing heart pass away so soon. It just doesn’t seem fair

Trouble is brewing between Nathan and Robbie. They’re both keeping secrets from each other on their past. I don’t know if Alex and Nathan played around but I’m not gonna be shocked if they did. Alex isn’t telling Robbie what happened between him and Nathan either so this is a definite possibility. This isn’t gonna be good. Also, I don’t like the Daniel/Ginny match. Sunscreen drama aside (which was very funny), she’s yet to show her batshit crazy side as has been reported. Given the exchange between that Matt douchebag and Robbie, I’m liking him for the guy who shoved Robbie. The kid who called after and apologized might know something about that…hmmmmm Robbie might need to make another friend there bc that kid had a guilty conscience after that chest puffing incident and I’m wondering if there’s more to it. Unexpected company of the negative type hinted at could be anything I’m not gonna speculate there. Good chapter

Great chapter and yet again Don is fairly absent. Yet not. Clearly he has control over Sue and by proxy, Robbie. The Alex selfie issue will cause some drama bc I don’t think Robbie will be able to talk to Nathan before hand. He will fold and ultimately regret it. I think Nicola will be the one to vouch for Robbie here and save his and Nathan’s relationship bc this will break Nathan’s heart at first before he learns the truth. Something tells me Don isn’t done trying to force a split too. I don’t him any more than I do Alex

Well now Robbie has learned what damage control feels like…. but seriously, Sue needs to stop trying to bring in strays. 🤣 nikola …eh….not sure her angle here. I think maybe she’s trying to protect Robbie. There’s something she’s not saying or knows and I think it has to do with Alex. Robbie hasn’t known him all that long and Robbie also is still not a “local”. There’s more to the Alex story that anyone knows but I suspect we will find out soon. However, Nicola is right. Robbie needs to get in front of that pic before Nathan gets it and then things REALLY go south.

💯 agree! Robbie is going to go where he feels loved and accepted and that certainly isn’t that home. I think Sue is trying but had the gay teen in that house been any of from her other kids, I feel she’d have gotten much more protective .

Whew ok… I skipped the comment section the last few chapters and skipped the comments here deliberately. I skipped commenting the last few chapters because I had a feeling this was coming and quickly spin out of control. I reserved my commentary until the finale here so I could say what I needed to say in one comment. So bear with. First of all, I think Sue handled Robbie’s outing very well, better than I expected and I’m also glad she called him out about his exploits with Nathan to be safe. Perfectly done there. The kid took the hint but she also knows he’s not going to listen either. I think she had a strong suspicion Don was gonna go off like he did but sometimes married couples can still surprise one other so maybe that’s what happened there. Clearly she was prepared at the end interceded. More on that further down. Secondly, I’m disappointed but the more I think about his previous comments and behavior when he doesn’t have control, Daniel’s reaction to the news shows he’s got a lot of his father in his personality in that he likes control and struggles to maintain composure when he doesn’t have it. Now, that said before you flip on me, I want to applaud Daniel for having the sense to clam up and disappear before he truly mirrored his father’s temper and threw some very harmful words to everyone. I think he’s very afraid to do that but feels the temptation when he’s worked up as he got. In this sense I’d say he’s MUCH more mature than his father. Putting myself in Daniel’s shoes, more than anything, I think he’s hurt. He’s hurt by everyone. He was spot on to call out Sue and Don’s treatment of him and taking in Robbie. He wasn’t given a chance to have an opinion or even asked. As far as I can tell Daniel essentially ignores his father outright unless Don demands his attention for something. Good for Daniel to do so too. I think he’s hurt by Nicola bc she too is let off essentially Scott free punishment whenever she bites back at parental correction. Same for Robbie. When Daniel bites back Donor Sue jumps on him the second he lips off. I think he’s hurt by Nathan and Robbie because they both individually kept their secret from him and if there’s one issue I have, it’s how Daniel found out. He absolutely had a suspicion. Sure he could’ve asked Nathan or Robbie privately at any point and yeah probably should have but seeing the type of personality he has, I’m betting he felt it wasn’t his place to ask. His reaction to the news that Robbie’s gay wasn’t disgusted or mad. He completely ignored it. Instead, he seemed pissed that Nathan his best friend kept something this big from him after them being friends for so long. He’s pissed at Robbie for the same after the forced cohabitation they’ve had to do together for a few months now. I think he’s pissed because he respected their privacy, giving them the chance to come to him and they, unintentionally essentially spat it back in his face. I think he’ll come around and to his senses and forgive them. I think they’ll have a long chat, separately with each. Speaking of that, I think HE is gonna be the one to track down Robbie. I think Daniel will be able to ID that shitbag in the photo who shoved Robbie. I’m glad he’s found his voice and isn’t afraid to speak. As a matter of fact I think he’ll use his dad’s traits against his dad and the whole family will essentially back up Robbie, giving Don no choice. Amy doesn’t haven’t a judgmental bone in her body, love her. She definitely also has the woman voodoo of being able to pick up on things and not say anything. Speaking of Don, what a selfish bastard. I have a strong feeling Sue is gonna set him straight and he’s gonna have to choose his pride and “career” over his family or not. He treats his family as trophy pieces and he basically called Robbie unworthy which, given the women in the house, is a bad idea…hehehe this is gonna be good. 🤣 Finally, my money is that it was Daniel calling when Robbie blindly shut his phone off. It might’ve been Nicola but I picked up on the fact that even Daniel called out to Robbie as he was jetting out the door, which to me, is uncharacteristic. Great couple of chapters Dodger. Bravo.

Aren’t we all? But he’s what 15? The kid has a LOOOONG way to go. That said, it’s shame that his mom’s illness was kind of sheltered from him back when they were still in London. He’d have grown up a little quicker. I get why. Mom probably felt the need to protect him at that age. But all it does is more damage. Take it from someone who’s been down THAT road at that age. All it does is create massive trust issues and a rebellious streak…and now look how he’s behaving

I kinda tipped my hand in this chapter. I was an EMT for 4 yrs and still work for a hospital trauma 1 system yrs later. You brought the nerd out in me what can I say🤷🏻‍♂️ I am sorry you got emotional at this point. You’re a very good writer. You’ve built Robbie’s character wonderfully.

Great chapter for a few reasons. One, this injury has humbled Robbie some and he’s needed to be humbled. Before he’s been a bit well…arrogant at times and it’s quietly bothered me. Teenagers 🤷🏻‍♂️ Anyway, the kid is learning a few things about his family and that has been needed in my opinion. Nicola has been a pleasant change of behavior. The conversation she had with Robbie is a good start to them bonding and learning to actually TRUSTING one another. Nathan has a LOT to do with that and the line at the end where Robbie had the sobering thought how lucky he really was is also a good sign of him maturing. I hope it sticks.

Let’s be honest, it is US who didn’t deserve HIM. As much as I am wanting to know whether Justin fulfills the Vampire Prophecy in GFD, how Taryn and his brother got separated, etc; the more I think about it, leaving such stories incomplete only magnify how great he really was. It’s not like any of us have his touch or could even remotely come close to how adept his was a capturing those little perfect moments of that nervous “hehehe” at odd moments. God I’m gonna miss that.. I think Comsie would be objective and say to leave the stories incomplete while yet he’d want folks to create their own stories and series’s or at the very least spin offs of his works. Keeping the stories like GFD unfinished makes them all the more amazing and magical in my opinion.

Something tells me Nicola will make their decision for their parents. Whoa to the poor soul who crosses her and those she cares about …ye be warned 🤣🤣🤣

2010…community hospital..CT scans…eh they MIGHT have a unit. They might have to fly him to Toronto if need be. But doesn’t sound like that was needed. Sounds like they have a unit. That said, inter-cranial swelling with trauma to the head is a BIG issue and hard to catch in time. I lost a friend from high school when he slammed his head on a curb wiping out on his skate board and of course no helmet. This scene reminded me of that. They had to fly him to a trauma center 2hrs away by car and if MY memory serves, I think he died mid flight. Anyway, I am very proud of Nicola. Lioness is a very accurate term and IF Robbie pulls through this she’s gonna dote on him now so much Robbie is gonna miss the OLD Nicola. Lord help the attacker if she finds out who and gets her claws on him. I think Daniel put 2 & 2 together during the movie time about Robbie and Nathan and now he feels betrayed and hurt NEITHER boy confided in him about their relationship. I think he’s hurt more by that vs Robbie being gay. I think he doesn’t know what to think now. Now that Robbie is in serious condition, he’s gonna realize none of that matters and he’s gonna feel like such an ass.
