As great as this story is I can’t say I’m at peace with it. How did TJ die?

I’m sorry but I don’t trust Carter. I have a suspicion where this whole story is going given the introduction at the beginning. I’m going to reserve THAT particular thought for the time being however. I don’t yet know for sure if Carter is gay but I’m leaning towards yes. However, I think Carter is poisoning TJ’s mind against Randy.

Comicality was a brilliant writer to me simply on HOW he convey the character’s emotions. Sure he was able to pull from his own experiences in real life and how he felt. A lot of authors do. But he had that “it” factor that instantly made what all his characters relatable. They became real. Being able to relate especially in MOE as my experiences were very similar in many ways ..at least in how I reacted to what I experienced was almost the same. Not just the reaction to the abuses but the emotional struggle to keep from losing his shit..not many authors can articulate it quite like he could. That’s what made him special.

Mrs Jones is definitely a gem. One thing I wish I knew how to do back at that age was to be a little more open with my emotions but alas..those cliques in school ..yeah, I wouldn’t have survived the first week. Randy has the makings of an awesome friend and more

First off Bravo Ronyx on a wonderful start. I love how you’re coming right out of the gate with both character’s perception of the same interaction. TJ just doesn’t seem like he can get a break and man..why is it the nice guys always seem to get shit on? In these case, this seems it will eventually turn true for both boys. On to chapter 3

I was only being honest in stating that you have to consider all possibilities. It could be the most least possible reason but who truly knows? At the end of the day the why doesn’t really matter so much as the results. I can imagine how much work it is do this stuff and you’d be crazy not to weigh whether ornnot it’s worth your efforts on the end. I do suspect that maybe you have yourself a bit of a higher expectations just at little anyway at first and the lack of responses I think might’ve shocked you. I am surprised there weren’t more responses too. As wonderful as it is, this thing is a lot of work, especially for one person. I’m not a writer myself and even though I’ve been encouraged to write by others, even if I felt called to, I don’t have the time to make it as good as I’d want any story to be fiction or semi-fictional. @Dodger lose interest? Nah. The only way that happens if it just got stupid but I’m too stubborn to quit once I’m invested 😂. I know this may be asking too much but I’d love to see a spin off. Story on Rory from HIS perspective from the beginning and backstory on him. I have an image in my mind of what he looks like and damn it makes me wish I was 14 again. I won’t lie, I know Robbie is the main character in this story but Rory has always been my favorite. Just a thought.

Some folks may simply not have “one” or are even ready to reply. Or they don’t care enough but in this group, I doubt that is it. Not all of us have experiences like he did. In fact I’m sure that’s a small number.

The interactions between Rory and Robbie are too cute. I think Rory simply found himself falling in love with Robbie and he’s so inexperienced and new at this plus the whole gay thing makes him super insecure. Let alone his age. Robbie needs to grab that boy by the face and sweep him off his feet. I think Rory might be the one to convince Robbie to get back into competitive swimming. I think Robbie needs to as well. Does the school have a team? If so, then he needs to get after it. As for Don, yeah reading off his phone makes him look even more suspect. He’s knowledge enough to know how to play the sales pitch game with numbers. Granted, they may have been right at one time, something tells me they’re outdated and he’s up to something. He may not be able to legally do much with the account directly but I think he is syphoning some off. A comment was made that Sue needs to be in attendance. I whole heartedly agree.

I’m just waiting for Robbie to be too weak to resist temptation anymore with Rory. Oh just kiss him already!!

Ok I’ve taken a few days to not read and a few more since my last comment which was a few chapters ago. Sometimes I just don’t have much to add as it’s already been said or frankly I just don’t have time to collect my thoughts. Now I do so here goes nothing. The scene between Robbie and Sue was great. It showed his maturing. So did the following conversations with Rory. Robbie‘S defending of Nathan’s love of him instead of simply agreeing with Rory that Nathan is crazy. It was a very mature thought to share and I think it secretly both pleased and saddened Rory. I think it pleased him in that he recognized Robbie’s maturing. It saddened him because I think Rory has quietly decided to himself after being dumped by a girl he really needs to give Robbie a chance and Robbie’s comment also affirmed what to Rory, appears to be Robbie being committed to Nathan. In his mind, I could imagine it would seem like there’s no chance for Rory to get with Robbie so long as Nathan is Robbie’s boyfriend. It also shows Rory’s maturity by staying silent on this because it would only make things worse if he told Robbie now. One thing I think above all else is that Rory wants Robbie to be happy and will support whatever Robbie finds that makes him so. nicola’s incessant need to gaslight and put her social standing ahead of Robbie is nearly revolting. I really wanted to tell her off. I could say the same for Nathan and his paranoia with how he treats Robbie too. Nathan does NOT deserve Robbie at all. I think Robbie is slowly starting to see that too. David putting Robbie in his place was appropriate but perhaps a bit harsh. Although I could understand his need to defend his sister’s decisions. Robbie needs to respect her wishes, even though he feels like he should have a say some, he had his chance and chose otherwise. Move on boy.

You know, for the whole time up until I saw you posted a new chapter this last week, I had thought you had already completed this story. I won’t lie, i‘m hooked

Something bothers me about this whole last few chapters. I think Mitch might’ve been the one who pushed Robbie. It’s unfortunate that part of the story kind of fell off. Mitch is very homophobic and violent. Alex’s dad popping back up also is cause for concern and some thinking. The continued references to Rory’s false sexual orientation also are keeping me thinking. great chapter

I think Robbie finds a way to get Symmonds to swing on him and that’ll help as Robbie will proudly stand there and just take it.

Ok first of all, I happen to know a little bit about boats. I grew up on the water in upstate New York in the Finger Lakes on the opposite side of Lake Ontario. I’ve even been on Lake Ontario. Just to give those who don’t know just how big this Lake is, you cannot see either shore if you’re in a boat in the middle of it without binoculars. Powerful ones. It’s closer to a small ocean with the weather just as unpredictable. This purchase by Don isn’t a small thing. It definitely fits his ego. Some of the seemingly innocuous moments in the chapter like the Pastor getting a bit touchy with Robbie sent klaxon bells going off in my mind as a read. Then the conversation with Matthew and Symmond’s behavior towards him only further solidified my concern. It’s a bit early to tell but maybe just maybe Matthew is gay but he’s terrified at this point. Tbh he acted as if he’s he may have indeed been raped by Symmonds. Again, it’s a bit early to tell. Robbie needs to build Matthew’s trust in him first. Keeping his word is the only way to start that. BUT, I think Jo will quickly see signs from Robbie that something big and bad is up. I think he gives her enough information to start herself on a bit of digging and still be able to have Robbie keep his word..at least technically. If nothing else, Matthew is the one is crisis and that might be the angle Jo needs. great chapter @Dodger
