Finally…Boy X… hmmmm Rory is definitely possible..the scented paper and lipstick smudges throws me off though as I don’t see that coming from him and so far the only flamboyant gay boy in the story is Nathan and he’s not in home room. Speaking of Nathan, that boy just comes off to me as a sexy fling and there isn’t any interest for love for him. I think that boy just is horny and will shag whoever’s willing so long as they have a cock. Robbie NEEDS the support of someone who loves him. Rory might be that boy possibly. Rory also comes across as confident enough to speak up and call out to Robbie for his attention in the hall so that does two things for me: 1 the locker notes are very ..asserting initiative which seems counter intuitive to being in the closet. 2: it may be that whoever boy x is is someone Robbie hasn’t even spoke to yet and isn’t even a blip on his gaydar yet.

I agree wholeheartedly with NimirRaj. This self denial is a bit of Russian Roulette for Robbie. He needs to stop lying to himself. You can’t force a square peg through a round hole but you can sure cause some damage. Weinerdog makes a point that the note is a setup and sure it’s possible but to me it reads too honest to me to be devious. Robbie sweetie, you don’t have to come out in a flaunting it way like Nathan. You don’t make it a big deal and instead act like what it is. Fact. Who cares what others think.

A few thoughts here..first off, the story is most certainly not stalled, but instead is setting up the drama to come. Very soon I suspect Robbie is going to recognize rather powerfully that he is most definitely gay and I think once he realizes WHY Nathan is so happy and confident is BECAUSE hes gotten to the point of his maturity in his own acceptance of his orientation to where he doesn’t care what others think or what they do to him. Once Robbie makes that connection and he’s even touched on it in his thoughts in this chapter briefly, it’ll floor him and he’ll have to know how to do that. I think that will be the part that’ll push him over the edge (🤭) and broach the topic with Nathan. I think it won’t take long with Robbie and Fran to mutually see they’re better as friends and good ones. Speaking of Fran, perhaps it was her dropping the locker notes, now that the author has really shown her take charge disposition more this chapter. I’m still on the fence there but in the end I don’t think it truly matters all that much. I think Daniel is still on the fence too..damn those hormones 😂

Hmm ok so I don’t think Robbie is necessarily deliberately asking out Fran for cover. I think he more or less is winging it and doesn’t really know why save for a few convenient reasons albeit minor ones. I say minor because clearly Nathan is doing ok out and so far, the family has not shown too heavy a bias again being gay. I think Robbie will find out quickly that will be the case too. I think he’ll learn he likes Fran more as a friend. I also do not think she’s the one dropping the note even though she’s in his home room class

Having been where Robbie is with anxiety on a friend’s suicide concerns, I can tell you straight up that it is never ever nothing. I made that mistake and ignored my concerns and I STILL battle with what ifs even though I know full well once someone makes up their mind, they often don’t change it. Also, suicide notes are by and large a myth. Not always of course, but often times. I’d be worried sick about Tom right now. Fran hasn’t given any more indications how she feels about Robbie. I feel Daniel is safe to come out to after their convo and to be fair Sue may be but the hesitation for me is the fact that Robbie and Daniel are sharing a room and as Daniel’s parent I would be concerned a bit at least at first. Good chapter.

I do appreciate the switching a bit between Canada and England because it’s something different but idk…at the same time I think England should’ve been the first chapters vs Canada and posted in chronological order by timeline. another thing I don’t like is Robbie playing at Cassie like that. Dude, you’re leaving. You KNOW you’re leaving. Stop.

Good chapter but one thing that disappointed me with Robbie here is telling his new family to just be honest about what happened with his mom yet screw with kids showing interest in his story on introduction. While I definitely get British humor, this seems to make Robbie appear cheeky and some kids might find it to make him appear untrustworthy. Just my initial thought. Fran I bet will become a confidant though whether or not Robbie allows himself to go further with girls let alone her remains to be seen. Sure, she’s probably interested in him, but I just don’t see it. Maybe it’s because of the amount of classes they share. Naomi however…I struggle to see so far why Daniel warned him. Now I wonder if perhaps Daniel might be in the closet himself too.

First and foremost I wanted to thank you for writing this story, on the topic of loss specifically. Your flow is very very good. The decision to start the story after Robbie’s mom’s passing was well done and kept me curious in the initial buildup to this chapter. That made it hard to put it down. Having been through close losses similarly, it made Robbie very relatable. Instantly I felt like I was him. Maybe it was my trauma too. Maybe it was your skill. Both? Probably. Anyway. Kudos. I think the relationship up to this point between Robbie and Tom is something I wish I had at that age. It’s clear as day they love each other and care deeply. Building that into the story is hard to do but it felt real at least to me. I wish I had that kind of relationship when I was their age. I look forward to the rest.

You’re spot on with Roid Rage Ron. You’re not the only one but if I’m honest, I’ll admit I got a tad um… distracted towards the end of the chapter and um i kinda forgot about all that…☺️ . Then there’s the whole kinda cliched scene while shopping. It’s the cliched ambiance that makes it funny in a cute sort of way.
