It took a bit but I recognize now who Tyler is. The spoiled yet confidently affable kid who’s used to getting his way with zero concept of how he sounds to others. He’s a complete stuck up ass to Rufus in school and frankly, if I were Rufus, at that age, I’d call him out. Tyler forgets HE is the one who sought Rufus’s partnership regardless if there was more false pretenses. Speaking of those false pretenses, the writer does a good job at portraying Tyler as a little narcissistic ass complete with the delayed realization of his behavior towards Rufus. His apology felt canned. Rufus sweetie, can this project and ditch this douche bag. You’re too good for him.
