All great ideas for the sequels. Although, my current thinking is they're focused on Avery's children, but he can't be completely absent.

I'm glad I have as well. It's been a great experience, both from a reading and writing perspective. I like watching my climb among the authors' stats. 71st in total words, at the moment. Not bad out of (I think) 1060.

The recovery begins and as everyone mentioned above, concerns out the wazoo. Regarding a faith healer, I must paraphrase a movie line: Lord, it's a miracle! Man’s injuries up and vanished like a fart in the wind!

I was expecting slightly more of a cliffhanger as I neared the end. I was thinking the scholar would say he knew where the place was and end the chapter there. I guess since they still don't know what's in the temple, it's still somewhat of a cliffhanger.

I'm not necessarily trying to stop this discussion but considering we're looking at events 37 years into the future, none of the current rules necessarily apply, and perhaps this won't even be an issue for this story. Read the spoiler if you want to know in advance which way it goes. Although you'll find out tomorrow anyway.

I had a friend that played 'Back in Black' every time we were in his truck. Fortunately for me, I'm a metal-head. I won't list any of the classic metal bands that I listen to. The subsidy is definitely possible. But not all is as it seems, as you've already found out in chapter 9. I'd be 68. Is that old enough?

True about politicians and fantasy. Of course, when I first entered the story data, I had no idea where I was taking it after he went to law school. I'm glad your cats have a loving caretaker. Procedures like that can't be cheap. We adopted a stray because he came to the door with a gash on his shoulder. I had that fixed and he's been indoors ever since.
