    Chapter 4

Touching, perhaps. I still can’t get past the cruelty of it all. First the fallacy that it needs to be done to appease some imaginary goddess (I really felt like typing godless there). Secondly, why subject three innocent boys to the torture? If it must be done, one of the town leaders should man up and commit the deed. Instead, they pass it on to kids. I’m still uncomfortable with the human sacrifice, but I shall persevere because someone I consider a friend asked me to.
  2. It seems to me you’re a beautiful person on the inside, where it really counts, anyway.
  3. Me too. Hehe.
  4. Oh God, I shudder to think that’s even possible.
  5. Too true. And to think what we see on the news is a minuscule fraction of the bad that goes on every day, unnoticed by the general public.

    Chapter 1

An interesting start to a first story. While I am far from a romantic (although I do have my moments), I’m looking forward to see where this leads. Aside from Egypt, of course.
  7. Apparently my imagination’s depravity, as well. Good thing I’d never do any of this for real.
  8. Wow. Ben sure unraveled totally. He’ll get through it because of the people around him that care for him, whether he believes they do or not. Fingers crossed for you Ben. 🤞🤞 Toes, legs and eyes too.
  9. Or retroactive abortion, maybe?
  10. I took this line to mean it was more than 2 pills that time: I popped the prescription bottle and took whatever fell into my hand. Ben needs to confide in Josh about what’s wrong. That will probably open the door to Josh saying Ben is the one he’s interested in.
  11. Like others, I think Ben is Josh’s secret friend. I have a feeling about Alex too. I think he’s making his money prostituting himself, and using prostitutes himself to fool himself that he’s not gay. I’m fearful of Alex making a pass at Ben when they hang out, and send Ben into a panic. Hope I’m wrong.
  12. I, like others, see trouble ahead. Knowing there is more than one more chapter, whatever it is, however bad it is, I know Ben will get through it.
  13. Good news for Ben, I think. But scary as hell. I agree with others that he’s not ready. Gavin will get him there quicker than with the old shrink.
  14. Nope, they were true human garbage. I thought that would be a nice touch, him accusing her when it really was the case.
  15. You’ll find out about any potential homophobic feelings in a later chapter. Kathy was simply someone who didn’t have any intimate male contact before Abel, and got addicted to it once she did get that attention. It’s very possible Yvette was driving. Coming home from a weekend away, maybe Travis was a little tipsy. He was a hard ass, but not really a bad guy. Just never got over having a daughter that got herself pregnant.
  16. Had glasses from young, and metal braces too. Also was never satisfied with my appearance. I still find it hard to believe when someone calls me handsome. I always figured average was a better description.
  17. Perhaps Abel was working with someone somewhere along the line in prison as a plumber, and he himself got whacked once with a pipe wrench.
  18. True across the board. Joey picked the absolute worst house for a sleepover.
  19. In the original story, it was mentioned the autopsy found dirt in his lungs. So though unconscious, he was buried alive. It was Georgia, specifically my town. There are million dollar houses, but 3 to 4 hundred thousand is a lot more common. I’d say they were more observant than Brandan realized.
  20. It took three weeks before all of their schedules aligned for the reading of the will. Kathy and Abel sat on one side of the lawyer's office, Rich and Brendan on the other. An iceberg wouldn't have melted in the gap between them. Abel nodded to Rich, but that was the extent of their interaction. Brendan was right in assuming Kathy wouldn't have let him have his share of the inheritance. "Does HE need to be here?" The lawyer looked at her, confused, "Who?" "That one, the boy."
  21. Keep up the good work. I too thought Gus has been in the system and graduated from the “I’m a throwaway person” attitude. The other three, I’m not sure of yet, but I think Josh likes Ben in a different way.
  22. This is looking like an interesting ‘pull yourself up to a better station in life’ experience. Looking forward to more. Got a new author to follow now. Most of the rest are like, is it raining today? Maybe I’ll write a few sentences. (I kid, just a joke). I see you’re active again, so hopefully there won’t be long waits between chapters. By the way, I once tried to keep 3 stories going at once. It’s tough to do. Don’t fall into my trap and end one suddenly (and badly). Thought I was gonna get lynched.
  23. You should read this story. It is truly a slice of life. A moment in time where two people come together due to circumstances thrust upon one of them. Well written and enjoyable finding out where it ends up.

    Chapter 1

I’d say good story, but it wasn’t really a story. It was a recounting of an actual event. “Ethan” was very lucky to have gotten you that night. I have to wonder what was really behind him being abandoned. That could be a whole story in itself, albeit truly fiction.

    King Dick III

A little late to the party, but I liked it as well. My kingdom for an ass. Too funny. I was thinking the vice principal simply wanted to get a closer look at that ass.
