    I had a thought the scarab beetle might be stolen. It's probably worth a lot more than 100 pounds, which had to be a fortune in 1864.

    Yeah, I thought it was only Mac, this line confused me a bit Since it came before the mention of the wedding rings. Perhaps Mac was foreshadowing. I too assumed auto accident and was waiting for it every time there was a drive mentioned. I guess we have to hope Bill isn't too cruel and has Devin be injured too badly.

    If you’re weird, you’re not alone. Very little in my stories is pre-planned. I just follow where the characters want to ho. Conversations and all.
