Permanent Incarceration and Temporary? Freedom
Lee Wilson commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Permanent Incarceration and Temporary? Freedom
He’s a Rottweiler sized POS. The jury’s still out on the DA, pun intended. -

FYI, the death penalty is legal in Georgia, but it’s the needle, not the shock. -

I've set it up to at least look like that: "I can't believe dad did that to you, and mom. I mean I believe you, but man, what a fuckhead. Do you think he killed her because he kicked you out?" "Fuck. I hope not. I have enough baggage to carry around as it is." "Sorry, but they argued about it constantly for a week or so after you left. After that, mom just stopped talking to dad. Another couple weeks later, she fell down the stairs. Probably pushed." I'm not yet sure whether or not the apparent link Winslow made will be the reason. Maybe I've done enough to Jeremy that I take that burden away from him. The next chapter may tell all. -
Saturday July 1 - Continuing with Jeremy "Bryson, you have a visitor." Once again, I'm led to an interview room, for the second straight day. I'm somewhat surprised to see my older brother, Al the Fifth, even though I was told he'd be coming. "Oh, my God, Al. It's so good to see you." "Same here, Bry. But when some lawyer called and said you were here in jail, I knew I had to come back. He didn't give me a lot of details, just that you're being held for fraud? That and dad ki

The Hearing and Some Drastic Changes

No worries. I have to go back and read things over again lots as I'm moving forward. -

Close to their 50's. From the Prologue: We were both what was once called change-of-life babies. My mother was almost 46 when she had me, dad 2 years older. Her parents were slightly older. Mother was 49, father 48. -

Right. He has to. Everything else is a distant second to taking care of Dominic. Lots of good ideas in there. I'm sure I'll use some of them. -

It's tough at any age when a parent dies. Mine were 4, 7, and 10 when their mother passed. -

Her parents could still sue for custody using this as the basis—that she didn’t know what she was doing. That may be true, but at 25, perhaps 26 by the time she dies, her parents, if still alive (I haven't gone there yet) are close to their mid-70's. I'm sure that would cause some hesitation, they'd be around 85 when Dominic turns 18. -

Definitely at least partly, perhaps completely. I' not sure, but the current judge's ruling should supersede the previous one. That's the way I'm going with it anyway. -

lying, corrupt political figures - aren't you being very redundant here? -

Thanks. Appreciate the compliment. -
The rest of the weekend went quietly. No more peeking from me. No more threats from Tim. Other than the threat of broken arms, I had a good time. I hadn't spent this much time with Dominic in a long time. I had to call out for personal reasons from the store both Friday and Saturday nights. Monday and Tuesday from the construction job. But depending on how the hearing goes, I may have to give up the store job. At this point, I want to have to give up that job, that will mean I get custody of Dom

No real reason for the hometown choice. Maybe because Cleveland is closer to me. I've already used Dawsonville, Oakwood, and Flat Creek in northern Georgia, and a couple others in southern Georgia. Like I responded to @weinerdog just now, more on the brothers in the next chapter. -

Agreed on the POS label. I think he may be the most evil character I've ever created. Maybe Uncle Marco competes. As far as his brothers suspicions, I'm thinking neither knew why Bryson left, and therefore knew nothing more of their mom's death. I plan on addressing these in the next chapter anyway. On the DA. I have to decide how much of a dick to make him. Possibly next chapter, definitely within the next two. -
There's also the fact that the more people that know a secret, the harder it is to keep. I could envision Mac's mom venting some day at the garden club or something and spilling the beans.

Saturday June 24 - Back with Jeremy As I'm sitting on the bench, I review the past little while in my head. I ran so fast, I didn't take stock of my surroundings. I remember someone calling my name, but in the moment, I assumed it was my father. Now, in retrospect, I know it wasn't his voice. I ran past the Ferguson's yard. Mr. Ferguson was out back doing yardwork. I know he saw me. I wonder if he saw me coming out of my window. Have to keep that in mind in case the cops need any witnesses.

Yeah, that's one way to go. I think you'll all be surprised on the direction this takes. Possibly angry at me as well. -
