I'm guessing those coins actually exist, along with the values you indicated. Wow, that's a lot. I'll have to look into my treasure chest to see if I have anything similar. Yeah, right!
I would have changed this sentence slightly:
I'd have used a line from a song:
I’m going to ask Mom if she’ll let me borrow her parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme. 😀
I hope you're not too disappointed when it turns out to be something different, like 3 million mosquitos carrying him off only to drop him into the Grand Canyon. Or maybe it's getting skewered 10 thousand times in a toothpick factory accident.
Well, Gavin has proven himself to be that stupid in the past, so we'll have to see.
No, just knows how dad treated Mel after picking on gays.
He gets the awesomest ending thought. @Summerabbacat will be thrilled.
No kidding necessary, tiz very true.
Gavin's visit Saturday night was pleasant and moved the relationship along ever so slightly. They shared a few more chaste kisses, held hands most of the night, and stared at each other quite a bit.
"I don't know why Tanisha said you were gross. I think you're pretty. Your glasses may be a little too big for your face, but otherwise, she's wrong."
"Thank you, Gavin. But she was right about never being asked out on a date. I guess being average looking kept the boys from noticing."
Just realized something, Trace introduced Joel with his last name. Maybe Joel told him “off screen” but I doubt he would have yet. Did Trace do some digging?
I get it. My first story here was 115k when I didn’t think I could do more than what would qualify as a short story, although a couple before that on nifty were 40 or 50k maybe. Once I get into a story, it usually goes on longer than first imagined. Current one will end around 80k with a book two already being considered. I doubt I could ever reach 250k for a single story, so I guess I’m a little jealous that others can.
I don’t know why, but I pictured Trace as an imposing figure, a Trace Adkins type, 6’6” and stocky. A man like that going to talk to Joel’s parents may very well force them to say they made a mistake, not mean it, and figuratively kick Joel in the teeth one more time. On to chapter 3!
Very late to the game like the last couple commenters. I joined GA just after 23’s SA contest, so I missed this one until I got all caught up on what I’ve been reading. Anyway, glad to see there is more. This was definitely a great start.
Short, but sweet. A story about two ships that pass in the night, each initially lost. They travel together for a short while and that time affects both of their life’s paths.
