Paladin commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
Once again @Bill W has enticed me, like Alice, into another English Language rabbit hole. What the hell is a Glossographia? It turns out that the answer lies in the title page of Thomas Blount's book which tells us that it is a dictionary interpreting the hard words of whatsoever language, now used in our refined English tongue; with etymologies, definitions, and historical observations on the same. Very useful for all such as desire to understand what they read. So there you have it, it's a dictionary of hard words as opposed to a dictionary of, ahh words, that includes hard words. Not really hard! (For Aussie readers, this looks like a specialist subject for Hard Quiz.) -
I agree with you. There is more and more developing to be tied together. Love it.

So much is being said without being said. Wonderful

It's good to see the forces for good ganging up on Angus. He's been far too smug about what he could get away with. I hope Nolan's camera gal is recording the meeting with Angus. Excellent footage for LiveFeed! Angus has made Jamie believe that Hearst has sold out to LiveFeed and provided them with intimate information. I believe that Hearst has buried a trap for Angus in the information he provided. Hopefully, Hearst will be able to convince Jamie that he is helping him.

Great atmospheric start. I'm keen to catch up.

Don't be too hard on Dallas regarding the incident. Remember their ages and immaturity. They were Year 7 so aged around 12. Dallas had started to "sprout some dark hair". JJ hadn't started getting public hair. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the first time JJ had touched another cock. Add to their age a Catholic upbringing with all it's anti gay, anti masturbation, ranting. It's not surprising that Dallas panicked. He was already embarrassed about getting hard earlier. Entering puberty Dallas was involved playing sports, and "you might have gone a bit weird with the way you dress and carry on and whatever," which we now know includes nipple and other piercing. They moved in different circles which made it harder for a reconciliation. It's JJ who harboured the anger and hostility towards Dallas, not the other way around.

Thomas the Shaman has two sons one of whom we assume is destined to join our three heroes as Kid Bondage. Will the other son turn out to be a problem? 😟 So much love in their tickling and use of magic. Delightful.

Hollywood was more open than I expected from a gay teacher in a Catholic High School. It indicates a huge amount of trust in JJ. Even so it wasn't his right to disclose Jason's relationship or to out Liam. The backstory with Dallas is very interesting and revealing. It also indicates that JJ trusts Pete; a trust that hopefully will be respected. I think one "beyond Redemption" outcome will be JJ paying more attention to people on Gaydar and investigating them more, rather than just superficially checking them out.

Pronunciation's not a problem, we don't have woodpeckers in Australia. Well, not the birds.

vellichor - Word of the Day - Mon Jul 28, 2025

Do you mind if I store vellichor in that section of my bookcase titled "Things I didn't know had a name". For sentimental reasons I go there occasionally to enjoy the aroma of old documents, paper and leather. I just wish there was a word to describe that aroma. -
The title of this story indicates that something pivotal will happen on this school excursion (why am I reminded of Picnic at Hanging Rock?) which will be life changing for JJ and significant others during their final school years and into their future. Many possibilities concerning what that pivotal something will be are hinted at so far by @Mark Ponyboy Peters and openly suggested by readers. I'm keeping my options open while looking forward to the next chapter.

The Moon through the Pines
Paladin commented on Laura S. Fox's story chapter in The Moon through the Pines
Ryder's father shows how hard it is for alphas to let go. Having relinquished control of the pack to Ryder, he still wants to be in charge. I hope this meeting with Cassandra is where "ordinary Joe" shows how non-ordinary he really is, even without his trusty toaster. I'm keen to find out how Theo fulfills Jack's prediction of reforming his pack. -
Having had a chance to see this in action and doing some of my own preference ratings for stories I've read, I think the system is brilliant. Thank you @Myr for all your work in setting it up.

Paladin commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
I am assuming that the reference to the Philosophical Transactions is to the world's first and longest-running scientific journal. Launched in 1665 (The year before the Great Fire of London) it is the scientific journal of the Royal Society of London. It can be said that their proliferate scientific reports since 1665 have caused even more research and discoveries to proliferate. -

Statements from our politicians proliferate as their relevance shrinks. -
Dallas has know for some time that JJ is gay and JJ hasn't been able to figure out why Dallas hasn't told anyone. There are a few possible reasons for that, including Dallas being a closeted sports star. Dallas' message I CAN’T HELP YOU HERE, DUDE could mean he has helped JJ in the past, maybe in the background without JJ knowing. Now JJ has been publicly outed, Dallas believes he can't help without outing himself. Quote: But now that I’ve finally come to terms with my own sexuality and figured out what path I intended taking in life. This is a brave move for JJ and hopefully one that will ultimately prove positive. That, however may take some time and, importantly, need help from family, friends and supporters. Not that I would expect to find a lot of supporters in a Catholic high school.

The Work We Do in the Dark
Paladin commented on Laura S. Fox's story chapter in The Work We Do in the Dark
I'm interested to know if Jamie's sister and brother have been rounded up by LiveFeed and if we will get to meet and find out what their reaction will be. LiveFeed really are a bunch of arseholes. -
A sexy, joyful start to a new magical story. I'm looking forward to these two sets of lovers getting together. Much, including magic, would flow. There must be more to Charles' lover, "Jason the statue" for us to learn about in future chapters. Here's hoping.

An enjoyably hilarious chapter. We are seeing this play out from Lyn's perspective and watch him continue to rationalize his present sexual behaviour and urges against his ongoing clinging to his preconceived opinions and beliefs about people and relationships. I had considered that Brad understood Alexander's attraction to Lyn from college days and deliberately booked them in the same room so the "magic" would happen. Brad's response to the "bum patting" suggests that I was wrong and Brad wouldn't want Lyn and Alexander to become sex buddies. Despite Lyn's attraction to and obsession over Brad, Brad remains an enigma, especially regarding his sexual history in the eight years since they graduated. We know Lyn has had a string of shorter, younger and submissive sex buddies and Alexander has been married and divorced. What has Brad been doing in those eight years that has led him to marrying into this monied family? I wonder if this has this been a long engagement or the last of a string of unsuccessful relationships. Is Luke to become the Fourth Musketeer? So far he hasn't exhibited d'Artagnan's skills and abilities. I suppose time will tell.

Well it was Hearst who exposed and brought down Conner, so yes determined and devious.

Dare I say that they managed quite well before state funding started.

@pvtguy your comments are interesting for us Aussies. Adding to @Summerabbacat's comments, all non-government schools (religious and non-religious) in Australia receive significant Federal and State funding. It is unlike anywhere else in the world.
