    Chapter 3

    Geoblocking is a bitch.
  2. Paladin

    Chapter 3

Yes, there is a mystery man and all will be revealed in time.
  3. OMG @Myr have you installed surveillance cameras! Slovenly is how my house looks before I know I'll have visitors.
  4. In the last week our dear @Myr has had the temerity to scuttle fine philosophical words like epicurean and deluge us with images of ribald behaviour while pretending to remain tepid and aloof from the repercussions. I think I need to reach for my shillelagh.

What do we want? Good magic to free the captives and beat the villains When do we want it? Now. Not in another years time. Thanks for this installment.

    Chapter 2

Tony travels back unaccompanied to the the place he feels is "home" to reunite with his friends from years before. So far it seems the "maybe planned" reunion is off to a good start and promises to be a ball. But how much more is there to this reunion?
  9. I agree and I hope Alec's parents watched it all unfold for him on TV. They have no right to share in his success.

    Chapter 14

Well, he is still a child. Don't expect him to behave like a mature adult. I think Brenda handled the situation very appropriately for Neil's age.

    Chapter 3

A Christmas Miracle sounds trite, but this story has all the elements of a Christmas Miracle without being at all trite. A series of events that that bring estranged gay lovers back together in an accepting family, but told skillfully with insight and honest compassion. I am however aware that Christmas isn't yet over but hope that whatever happens doesn't stop them having a New Year that gives them a chance to reset and to reflect on what lies ahead.

    This is the end...

Like everyone else I'm looking forward to seeing what @Aditus and @Valkyrie put together from our contributions.
  13. Brewers Dictionary of phrase and fable comments that to scuttle off was originally to scuddle off with scuddle being a frequentative of scud. Scud means to move fast in a straight line as if driven by the wind which could explain why it is the name for a type of long range guided missile.
  14. As a starting point @Myr has defined scuttle as a verb. It is, or at least was, also a noun. A scuttle was a metal container with a handle, used to fetch and store coal or coke for a domestic fire. I remember seeing coal scuttles when I was young, although we used them for coke warmers. OK not coke as in Coke Cola but coke as in a hard, porous coal-based fuel with a high carbon content. It is made by heating coal in the absence of air. A bit like making charcoal from timber. Another use of scuttle as a noun that I've never come across until now is British and refers to the part of a car's bodywork between the windscreen and the bonnet.

    Chapter 1

A great start to this story. Tony is returning to Thompsonville successful and alone. Enough to suggest we will meet the rest of the Thompsonville people we have come to love. I'm in for the ride to find out what has happened since we last saw them.

    Chapter 14

I think @Ronyx has entertainingly captured the feelings of a sixteen year old who has been living with a single parent for several years and then that parent decides to start dating. The first is the reality of their parent being a sexual being and potentially actually having sex. Then there is the fear that the parent will bring into the family someone who could take away some of their parent's affection. For most students, teachers only exist at school and during school hours. There is a certain safety with this for the student as it keeps a distance between school and home. Neil is having to deal with a teacher not only existing outside of school but also in his family life. He will overcome all of this but it is fun watching it play out.
  17. Sad to say goodbye to this bonding group of school friends but with DM established in his new life (following the family deaths), this is a good ending.
  18. If I remember correctly Jamie and Cottontail (in costume) met twice outside. The rest of their meetings were in Jamie's apartment. If Wencel did take the photo himself it has to have been during one of those meetings (I assume Hearst would have recognized a photo of them from the live feed and wouldn't need to ask) which means he was also stalking Jamie. This keeps coming back to the mystery of Wencel's obsession with Jamie. How many liars do we really have in this story?
  19. So true, especially as appearing aloof can be a symptom of what used to be called Asperger's Syndrome and now part of ASD.
  20. Hmm conjoined twins, with a single shared penis! Mutual masturbation every time.

    Chapter 60 S2

The buckles, or rather the bodies, raise another mystery. What caused the pile of rubble that blocked the cave and were the two men simply trapped behind it or deliberately entrapped or left there? There are examples of people who help hide treasure being killed so they can not come back and steal it or tell others about it.

    Chapter 3

Josh's new look has also boosted his confidence so he is better equipped to cope with the police, but he still needs his supporters.
  23. Well the fairies do need time to work their magic.

    Chapter 3

Thank you for these comments @Flip-Flop. Keep those fingers crossed.

    Chapter 3

Too true @chris191070. Josh will need to trust and have plenty of support.
