I'm Not Eggactly Feeling Grape!
Paladin commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in I'm Not Eggactly Feeling Grape!
Now all this stuff about the microwave having an eye has me concerned. I have been known to use the microwave when I'm . . . well naked. Now I'm wondering what my microwave has been saying about my . . about my state of undress to the other smart appliances. Will I be able to face my refrigerator without it giggling, or put my underwear in the washing machine without it smirking and what will the TV do with those images. Sorry I have to go and put a patch over an eye. -
For Matt a relationship with Jacob is a bolt from the blue but, as others have suggested, it looks like Jacob has been planning it for some time. Matt and Jacob being coupled will make it easier for Oscar and Emma. That is assuming that Emma is interested. Still mystery about the generations and the hostility Gen 5 has towards Gen 6. I think we still have more to learn about the artifacts.

A great chapter that tells us a bit but leaves so much unanswered. I need answers! grrr 😠 😠

Young Love/New Relationship
Paladin commented on Ticklishboy30's story chapter in Young Love/New Relationship
The two couples are moving into deeper, loving relationships. I enjoyed reading Greg's unenforceable rules. The visit to the cemetery was beautiful. A chapter that almost makes us forget that there is still a threat out there. -
A beautifully written article. The world has many people (and animals) needing support. Never be afraid of stepping up and offering help. It can be rewarding for both those supported and those providing the support.
-
An excellent action packed chapter.

So much activity before breakfast. Much more than I can manage At least it will mean they will all have a healthy appetite when they get to breakfast. They all really like having fun together.

We all agree that there are at least two storms that have to be navigated. Let's hope they keep clear heads and steer a safe course.

Ah, the art of the deliberate understatement to draw attention.

Riz is something of a greedy loose cannon with little respect for anyone including the mob elite. I get the impression that he would not have a lot of support from the mob if he need their help. The support flooding towards Juan suggests that there are a number of people who already have concerns about this particular police force. Wonderful chapter.

I didn't get the impression the call would have anything to do with being dependent on the family, simply catching up after a couple of weeks without contact. Given the context it didn't seem to be asking for money or other help.

A nice light chapter. Tim and Guy should recognise the acceptance shown by the people on the boat. The brewing storm is worrying for the guys on the trawler and on the yacht. Hope all goes well. Why doesn't Guy want to tell Tim about phoning his mum?

Bishop's grief has pushed him into an approach / avoidance position with Pawn. He is clearly attracted to Pawn but that attraction is laced with fear of Pawn replacing his feelings (memories) of King. His response is to physically shun Pawn and throw him out. That will not remove the attraction. Bishop has a lot to work through. It seems more than Rook and Knight.

Poorly played! The moves have been made and now we need to see how it plays out. Somehow I feel that when Pawn reaches the eight rank he will become not a queen but a King.

The Family That Plays Together
Paladin commented on Ticklishboy30's story chapter in The Family That Plays Together
Hmm, the "family that plays together" wakes together or tickles together or is it giggles together. Whatever, another fun filled chapter full of the antics of this lovable extended interracial ticklish family. -
Like others of you, I thought this story was winding down to a conclusion, when suddenly it ramps up with more action and suspense. Excellent chapter @empath. Thanks

circumvent - Word of the Day - Sat Nov 9, 2024

I tried to circumvent commenting on today's Word of the Day, but failed. 😸 -
An adventure is beginning for the boys and Ben has to find his sea legs and maintain stability in his life.

An interesting twist to the story. It seems Oscar is straight. He assumes Matt is straight but is concerned enough to to check on Matt several times during the night. Neither has actually told the other about their sexual orientation. Is Emma's refusal to go out with Oscar just because of her friendship with Matt? Excellent chapter.

chirography - Word of the Day - Fri Nov 8, 2024
Paladin commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
An interesting piece of trivia is that Queen Elizabeth II signed as Elizabeth R and on official documents (eg. acts of Parliament) at the top of the document, not at the bottom as you might expect. -
chirography - Word of the Day - Fri Nov 8, 2024
Paladin commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
Of course this immediately sent me searching for the difference between chirography and calligraphy.Mirriam-Webster did not help by listing calligraphy as a synonym for chirography. Further searching indicates that chirography is what could be call good penmanship or handwriting in the usual sense of using a pen or a pencil or I suppose a finger in the sand at the beach. Calligraphy indicates that the the handwriting has been done at an artistic level. My handwriting would never be describes as "artistic" and probably doesn't even come up to the standard of chirography. I welcomed the invention of personal computers because they made typing so much easier and what I wrote so much more legible. -
Cottontail asks, “Are you asking me to use you, Jamie?” to which Jamie answers, “Why not?” So who is using whom? It seems Jamie is seeing it as mutual with his "But make sure you get something out of this, too." Jamie wants Cottontail/Inspector to get to know him. The meeting Cottontail is planning, where undisguised he gets close to Jamie, should be revealing.

Unfortunately, the police response to Matt was not unusual at the time, despite gay sex being legal. It's taken a long time for the police force to admit that historically many police routinely ignored or played down crimes against gay men. I'm really interested to find out how Matt and Ben handle being on the trawler. Working on a trawler is not only hard work but doesn't really have regular hours.

Thanks for a delightful story full of interesting twists. I loved it.
