@Paqman @Summerabbacat maybe I'll go into the merch business? haha

@Paqman pretty much nailed it! Macquarie Harbour is a mash-up on Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour. Thompsonville was loosely modelled on Lake Cathie. All places I visited as a kid. I may have mentioned this elsewhere previously, either on my site or in comments somewhere. Not too sure.

That was one of the first singles I bought at the second hand book and record store I discovered when I was about 15 and had started working as a casual for Coles on Thursday nights and Saturday mornings! Still have it, too! Ahhh, the memories?

The trip out to Thompsonville normally took a little over twenty minutes, so I knew it wouldn’t be long now before I walked down that gravel road towards the house where I had once lived. Traffic was relatively light on the highway as the bus made its way out of town, and before I knew it we were slowing for the turn onto Thompsonville Road. Looking out the window I could see rolling green paddocks dotted with cattle and horses, just as there always had been, but I could also see quite a fe

There is something comforting about having traditions in our lives, I have to admit. Something about them that gives structure to our lives. Stability. Especially when we find ourselves facing the most challenging of times. Even the small things help out. Take the Christmas tradition that Charlie and I have shared for the past few years . . . just a few stolen moments, alone, watching the world from afar. Watching the twinkling lights of our small town far below us as we cling to each other

A shadow skimmed across the blue water below us as we followed the coastline south. The dark shape seemed somehow inconsistent with the sleek white body and outstretched wings from which it was created, yet still I knew what it was, and more importantly, that it was taking us to our ultimate destination. It was mid-morning, with the sun high above us, though yet to reach its zenith. Looking down from my window seat, on the western side of the thirty-six seat Dash 8 aircraft which serviced t

For Tony Scott coming home, five years since he left Thompsonville, to chase his dreams, is daunting. Five years since he has seen the only place he could call home, the only people he has been able to call family, and the only man he has ever loved! If he is to find happiness he knows he must face the mistakes of his past and face those left behind. What will he find there? Will the town have changed, or will it still be that sleepy seaside haven he had grown to love? Will he be welcomed back, or will he be shunned? All he can do is step off that bus and knock on that door. Only then will he know if he really is in a good place!

@Summerabbacat thank you so much. I guess it all started out around 2021 when we were planning our 40th school reunion . . . which ended up being postponed until 2022 thanks to yet another Covid scare. Anyhow, 2022 got me thinking about how it had been 40 years since I moved away in 1982, which got me thinking about things that happened that year, about two friends I lost that year, and so forth etc etc As the years pass you tend to push some things to the back of your mind, but they are always there, just waiting for the right kind of nudge to bring them back to the forefront. Seems my school reunion was the nudge that brought Graham and Greg (the other friend I lost that year) back to the fore. -

Thank you @weinerdog. The 'Olly' story is one that has been germinating for a little while now. I have ideas about where I want it to go ... in fact it was only this week that they all started falling into place, so hopefully it will come together they way I'm hoping it will. As for 'Chase', yes, he's modelled on a guy I met up with a few times at about the time I was working on the story, which would have been about 2022. Every time I saw him his hair was a different colour! lol MP -

When we are young and feeling ten feet tall and bullet-proof it comes as a great shock. I'm sorry for your loss. In the year Graham died I also lost another friend a few months after that. It was one hell of a year, and not for good reasons! 😥 -
- Authors Footnotes - So, that brings us to the end of the story of Grayson and Raffa, for now at least. I'd like to think that their finding their happily-ever-after is a fitting place to finish this part of their tale, though I am sure that I could fill another book with their post-marriage adventures if I really tried! 😉 I promise that you will see them again, however, as they will be popping up in a story that will centre on young Olly. Beyond that, who knows what might happ

@Summerabbacat I can almost see the boys climbing into their Toyota and heading off on their honeymoon after their big day, waved off by family and friends, with that song playing as they fade to black! Oh, and of course there were tin cans on a string trailing along behind them, attached by Olly, no less . . . while Leandro had written "Just Married" across the back window with shaving cream!!! Thank you @Ivor Slipper. You just need to remember we're a laid-back bunch Down Under. Some of us have "everyday" jeans and some of us have "going out" jeans for special events only. I've even been to weddings where cowboys hats were seen! MP -

The three weeks since our trip to Treetops passed by in the blink of an eye. Raffa and I helped our mothers prepare for the party, handing over money for the food that needed to be purchased, ordering the meat for the barbeque, hiring equipment for the day, like a decent gas barbeque, plastic chairs, fold-out tables, a canopy and shade sails to provide some shelter for guests. Our fathers told us they would split the cost of the beers and drinks, but other than that, we didn't want our part- 20 comments

Why not? New black jeans look casual but still ok ... especially with their pink shirts. 😉 -
When I woke the following morning, I was the happiest man in the world. The man I loved had said yes! He. Fucking. Said. Yes. The night had been energetic, and exhausting, and we had slept late. In fact, Raffa was still sleeping, but I let him continue as I lay beside him, just watching and listening to him breathe. I noticed a speck of something white that had dried on his cheek and smiled to myself as I realised what it was. When I gently picked the small speck of cum off him, h
