Maybe I'm an emotionally rather primitive reader. But if there is a steak knife on the table, and P can slash it into the mahogany, it cannot be too hard to maim G for life, or even kill him?

Obviously, if an author as accomplished as our favourite would let the relationship between L and H break up, he would be cheating. For there would, should have been an indication, however hidden, of problems between them in the previous chapters. So these last ominous words must refer to other losses. Unless, of course, H has died in the years between L''s refinding his passion and the moment of the interview. Meanwhile I wonder if the interviewer isn't Hudson... -
Well, as the cliche has it: all's well that ends well. But really: who does need a friend to be told that he loves another friend - eight years after not having seen either of them?

While I cannot stop reading, I am yet not convinced. Why are we supposed to accept that Dean doesn't simply let slip that he has no girlfriend? -
However unlikely: hugely exciting, and making for non-stop reading.

There is a mix-up of Evan and Nate in the first part. Otherwise: the end we hoped for..

Despite my doubts about the premise of these developments, as voiced with the previous chapter: this definitely is exciting.

I love the kusabi. Being in the flow is, after all, the essence of all achievement(s), in whatever field, if it stems from the right aim, to be more than simply oneself.

One of the above commentators writes: I did not see this coming. Nor, supposedly, did anyone of us. And, admitedly: I feel that is the problem in accepting this story: for we now see L forgetting/forgiving all the past since he looks at it through his present tear-covered glasses. And of course he'll allow B to act like a dying Cupido - perhaps never even knowing why he goes back to A. In short: I find all this too "pat", too sentimental.

Miracles DO happen, but only seldom so.. The easiest way out for the story-teller and the reader would be a full recovery. The most painful in the short run would be death. The most painful forever would be a continuing coma, or a 'recovery' that leaves a person permanently impaired, and, with that, those who love him permanently shackled.

An emotionally amazing and convincing chapter. That is: the first part. But... Besides not liking the melodramtic turn - I am sentimental - I also wonder if someone as clever as L really would have left a situation develop wherein someone else completely controlled all his finances. Chapter 15: checkmate!

"I almost felt like you were talking about me." I must admit I find that either nauseatingly vain, or incredibly stupid - given that we are to believe he has no inkling of D's feelings. As to the scene between Aiden and Arthur: that is a bit of a repetition of what they both - and we, too - have known since the previous chapter. -
Of course, this chapter is a reminder that, world-wide, every minute accidents like this throw families and friends in worlds of despair and impotent rage. Even if the victims survive, their life, and that of those close to them, may be wrecked. Far too often our fate depends on people who only follow their own lust and desire.

Obviously, the author wouldn't thus introduce the Graham/Vernon angle if there wasn't something delightfully fishing in it. We're prepared. -
Interesting. I must admit I've never met kids of that age who think/speak/reason as these two do. But then: my grandchildren may simply have inherited the mediocre abilities of their grandfather....

Actually a lovely episode. What it means for the A, B, L- friendship/infatuation/love- triangle must yet appear.
