    After Dawn

Don't know, Texas does have a coastline, but that was cute.
  3. Best Geeky concept ever!
  4. Chapter 12: The Great Summit I don’t think I lived up to Brian’s hopes and aspirations. Yes, I did keep questioning and inspired even further questions, but I never could break the divide between life and death with my questions. I wished that I could have kept trying longer. I never stopped keeping Bobby in my heart, nor do I think he ever forgot me in his. Perhaps, our gulf was just too wide. After we were transported back to the room, Ka’zel also returned, “I hope medi
  5. Chapter 11: Flight of Fantasy When I got home, Brian looked like he had seen several horror movies as he gave me a hug. I had never understood Brian well, nor do I think I could ever understand any human avatar of the “First”, but I finally saw one of the things that he was fighting and understood why we needed to fight it. The danger to mankind is not merely in the outside foes, who wish to usurp us, but there are enemies within, who threaten to corrupt our core being. Brian
  6. Chapter 10: Responsibility Brian’s warning was in the back of our minds throughout the remainder of the weekend. Bobby and I knew he was right, but we didn’t care what the costs might be. Bobby wanted to stop his stepfather’s reign of terror and I wanted to end the pain that he felt from his experiences. It was more than just infatuation; I owed it to Bobby. However, the hard part was, “how do you catch a predator?” Seriously, this bastard was a true predator, using his civic
  7. Chapter 9: Awaken To New Truths Causality, consequence, and choices are the three C’s that govern the rules of the “First”, it’s something I began to understand, when I learned about Bobby’s role in my life. However, I can’t say I agreed with it. If I never went after Bobby, neither of us would have broken our psychological holds against one another. If he didn’t save me from my suicide attempt, I wouldn’t be here, several decades later, telling my story. Everything that was
  8. Chapter 8: Trying Something New At this point, I should probably say that I changed and became a better man. I stopped bullying other kids and I dealt with my personal issues. Real life doesn’t work that way, but I did tone down my bullying or at least tried to. I still couldn’t deal with all my issues, all my internalized anger and frustration, and all my needs that were unfulfilled. I knew I had a lot of problems, but back in those days, there were no guidance counselors to
  9. Chapter 7: Learning To Fight Right September of 1954 was a fearful time for me. I was entering high school and losing my childhood. In terms of education, my mom had preferred we went to public school rather than parochial or the snobby private schools in the area. In 1954, Sacramento had two public high schools within the district, Sacramento High School and C.K. McClatchy High School. I attended the C.K. McClatchy. The entire thing should be no big deal, ex
  10. Chapter 6: Of Major and Minor Consequence Seven years passed with times of joy and times of sadness; times of peace and times of war. When Brian woke up, he demanded that he and I were allowed to go home. Senator Hickenlooper was against it and the President Truman was fine with it. Brian asked not to speak to either of them, he sought out Congressman Martin. I don’t know what he said or what they talked about, but he swung the vote. For many years afterward,
  11. Chapter 5: National Security After what happened in the tent, we were all moved including the ship to Edwards Air Force Base, where the famous X-planes were developed secretly, starting in 1946. It took two months to convince the military to give the grey, as they started calling him, an opportunity to speak with the President and select members of Congress. To be honest, Brian and I did not have good summer vacation either, but we were isolated and protected due to the 12 me
  12. Chapter 4: Implicate Order I never expected to see my dad again, but something told me that he was still around somewhere. I am not a really religious person, I think many gay guys probably are not with the way organized religion has treated us. However, I never denied the existence of things that religious people describe exist in some forms. I bet there is a heaven, a hell, and purgatory along with other realms souls can go after they die. However, actually seeing him again
  13. Chapter 3: Grey Matters I think most people would have guessed by now what event is unfolding. Here are a few facts so far: it was the summer of 1947, we were in New Mexico, and we were going to a place called Roswell. The stories about that event have become urban legend, myth, and even that 90’s television series, which I admit was quite funny and satirical if you knew the true events. Yes, a flying saucer crashed. Yes, there was a cover-up by both military and certain powerf
  14. Chapter 2: Seeing Is Believing Motor Courts in the late 1940’s were what the movie Psycho later immortalized them to be. They were small out of the way spaces for people making long journeys across America by car, instead of the old fashioned method of travelling by train. It would not be until the 1950’s and the later expansion of the freeway system that motels really grew exponentially to become what they are today. There was no continental breakfast or even television sets in the rooms.
  15. Book I: To See, To Know, To Be Human Chapter 1: Into the East Well, to begin, I was born on September 3rd 1939 to Allen and Sharon Cross. Sharon Cross, formerly Sharon Hart, was a run of the mill small town American girl with a feisty sense of independence. She grew up with very little due to the Great Depression and Dust Bowl. I bet many of you have heard about the Great Depression, but barely remember the little history lesson about the “Dust Bowl” in the American Midwest back in the 1
  16. Prologue You may have read Bobby’s short little story about me and how I died. He can get so sidetracked sometimes, you guys probably get the feeling that he probably has ADHD or something, but I guess that’s how death operates. It can be very random or focused depending on his mood. There are many paths that we can all follow, some of them are chosen by us and some of them are chosen for us. My full name is Joshua Walter Cross; you can just call me Josh. If you
  17. One Part Science Fiction, One Part Fantasy, but completely human to the core.
  18. It's too sexy, I can't hold it back! Must find slash fiction immediately
  19. Happy Birthday Cia Hope everything is wonderful for you on this day.
  20. Lol! Do you know how to dig those squatting holes? I wonder how many people here are ethnic Chinese, but were born in other Asian countries. I know a bunch of Chinese Viet and Chinese Thai people for some reason.
  21. Not sure, how many of you were fans of this old TV show, I caught it in re-runs growing up, but even after a decade, the show still holds a strong resonance for me. http://youtu.be/NI-qCUK_G4U Early Edition was brilliant in many ways, because in almost every episode, a regular guy named Gary Hobson had to make choices for people and their fates based on a Newspaper that foretold tomorrow's events and tragedy. This particular episode is remembered by fans as one of the great classics as it asks some hard questions about human choice, nature, and fate. It is tragic, but transcendent. Anyway, hope I am not the only one that still remembers this series.
  22. Hey don't worry, we're all Gaymers here As a teen, I freely admit that Medal of Honor gave me a hard on as a kid . When I was even younger, I was addicted to Vectorman 1/2 and my Sega Genesis. It's old news now, but I still remember timing myself with shots and grabbing stars.
  23. Play hard to get, he might give you a surprise at the end
  24. XOXO GENE-POOH XOXO - Gene's mom I know what you mean, but not all gamers who go through the challenge are like that. Even doing the Madden Challenge, I was more or less the same except, I cooked my dinner around my assigned match ups.
  25. Sounds almost like it's a religious vow of chastity I remember the south park episode about what will happen: Does making "Wohoos!" on the Sims count as getting laid for these guys? 96 hours of gaming is just too much.
