  1. Matt you didn't miss much, no riots or zombies. Thanks guys and ladies for the tips. I am thinking of stocking up on dry chewable grandly or cereal bars, is that really better for disasters?
  2. Here's fun comedy gay movie: I love Italians, they're so interesting and feisty.
  3. After this earthquake, I just got a thought in my head, how much do people plan for these things in Boston? I mean, we're a coastal city with skyscrapers lining half the city and huge sections below sea-level like New Orleans. We have a nuclear power plant a few miles out near Plymouth. It feels unsettling to know that you can get caught flat footed without any disaster planning, except for running out of the house with your wallet and pray that you make it to open land in an urban area. I am going to need to prepare for some contingencies, but I wonder if anyone else has ever done disaster planning and can give me tips.
  4. Seriously, this is the east coast not LA. It's stuff like this that makes you think we are nearing the end.
  5. Where is celine dion's "my heart will go on" It's gender neutral though my mind does imagine Leonardo dicaprio
  6. The job is ugly, my numbers don't see any light at the end of the tunnel if we keep this up. I am awaiting a Board meeting to make a presentation of my findings and hope some of our outside directors can see the inherent flaws in internal management. Heck, even portions of senior management are siding with me (partially to save their own asses, sad but true). Outside of work...I have just found my new favorite gay movie: From Beginning to End http://youtu.be/BH6vtx3HVB8 This movie was fascinating and deeply touching. The guys had great chemistry and the story of two brothers that grow up together into lovers makes this movie. Now comes the strange part, beyond me liking a movie about gay incestuous brothers (would be better if they were named Sam and Dean Winchester, but one step at a time), if I use my cold logical brain to watch this movie, it simply does not work. I doubt South Americans would allow such a taboo relationship to continue or even progress into full blown love. There are so many things about their love that is way too perfect, it's almost divinely manufactured or plot holes waiting to happen. Yet, I won't lie a part of me still believes in love, despite being single for the last year. I have been as of late lonely, unhappy, and probably somewhere between depression and apathy. Work probably triggered part of these issues into the surface, but the lack of companionship doesn't make life better. I once said that I keep my mind and heart very separate, because I don't trust my heart to make the tough choices in life and I don't trust my mind to make the leap of faith. I want to believe in perfect love, but rationally, I can't see it ever being so perfect.
  7. Seen the old black and white series and thought it held up pretty well as a kid for a few laughs during my late night viewings. As for the new one, I'll give it a chance, but I am getting tired of reboots. I wonder if there will now be a reboot of the Addams family as well. First they did the Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose place, then Dallas, and now this. What other dead TV show will be rebooted, the I love Lucy show? Anyone of the writers here can dream up better ideas than Hollywood right now for tv shows.
  8. Crazy shit happened today as I just found another $250,000 in costs and problems with cashflow with these contracts that senior management agreed to. Need to do a cash flow analysis, sorry if I am late with Chapter 2 of Big Squeeze. Here's a little reminder of me for you guys:
  9. The two creators of Big Bird were a gay couple, Christopher Lyall and Kermit Love (Nope he didn't create the frog) http://www.queerty.com/turns-out-big-bird-is-the-child-of-two-gay-dads-20121011/ I didn't know that, now all those years of adoring the big Yellow Bird's mannerism makes sense, I think

    Introduction

I hope it can be a fun ride for you. The story is only building up now, anticipation building.
  11. Congrats from the silent reader !
  12. I was half expecting pictures as examples Yes, the male form can be beautiful though traditionally we objectify female forms in civilization.
  13. Don't tell me you paid top dollar Banger for a term paper I could have directed you to a couple of guys that'd do it cheap
  14. Yes, you old Frog, I promised I'd thank you properly. MikeL helped me out with editing the Introduction of The Big Squeeze, today. He's the best kind of reader a writer can get, some one who is willing to interact with the writer on fixing flaws and improving the story. I wanted to thank him properly as an outside contributor. I know Mike, you can't join my team of Editors and Betas (I pay people in kibbles and bones, not flies ), but I still think you deserve some acknowledgement for being a good reader and working with me after I wrote the introduction. Chapter 2 will go into beta and editors this weekend. Hopefully, I can publish next Monday, if my team can handle it. If anyone wants to join in, I am open to accepting new team members.
  15. When we watch a movie, TV show, read books, or even write our own heroes in fiction: How real do we really want them to be? I was reading an op-ed piece about Batman franchise and it gave me a big eye-opener about fiction and reality. Compare that to the nature of other Heroes in fiction whether it is the magical world of Harry Potter or Marvel's Avengers. Audiences and readers alike love that type of fantasy as well, because the heroes are completely fiction. Do we really need to ground our heroes in the realm of the "possible" with characterizations and emotions based off our humanity? Or, can we have heroes that defy human expectations, where there is no human like characteristic at all with their issues? It's an interesting question and something GA readers may enjoy thinking about their favorite GA characters and authors.
  16. First I want to thank my Team: NotNoNever- Thanks for keeping me anchored to the vernacular and keeping the story simple enough for readers BlueSoxWSJ- Thanks for being my secondary source for finance information as we both come from different viewpoints, it's a thrill to do this together. SidLove- You are a great beta and insightful on ideas. I will need to work with you and Blue on the financial appendix very soon, so readers can track back on meanings Harcallard- Don't worry Harc, you have been a good friend and I think you are a decent editor. It took several editors and betas, basically an entire team of people from across the board. This is a big story and requires a larger team than I have ever worked with. Without you guys, I would not have finished the first chapter, now we must move onto the 2nd. To Readers: I am changing my writing style, not just a genre shift, but an entirely new framework of writing that GA has not seen in a while. https://www.gayauthors.org/story/w-l/thebigsqueeze The Big Squeeze is my first prototype for this style. You will notice much more detail rather than cerebral issues, more real life and real facts than theoretical science fiction, and far more engrossing plots between complex characters with personal and professional problems. The first chapter uses a table of stock/index for beginning and ending that writers on GA have not done yet as far as I can tell from my reading, I might have missed your story if you have done the same thing (please tell me I love learning from example, too.) I want people to see how thing deteriorate from point A to Point B. I also split things out into three perspectives, instead of my usual cerebral 1st person way of telling stories. They all have back stories and conflict between themselves, their profession, and their environments, which is all eclipsed by the coming financial crisis. Also, this story will have grand scope. What starts in the United States with Lehman Brothers and AIG will not be the end of the story. I am going to be crossing the US and the world. You will see breathtaking issues of financial market problems from New York to London to Shanghai. It's not just US regulatory issues, UK bankruptcy rules, European market legislation, Chinese investment issues, and any single point. We were all in this financial crisis and the fight to save the global financial system. I love input and please tell me if you guys have any issues with reading or if I need to make corrections.

  18. Happy Birthday Paya! With the time zone difference, I hope you had a wonderful day!
  19. Still if you can get a check up with your primary care, id suggest it. Sounds psychosomatic, but take care. Also, other than the milk have you eaten or drank anything else?
  20. I love cooking and sharing recipes: Here's my health centric recipe for Sweet Cocunut Tapioca chilled Soup, I actually won 2nd place for this recipe in a local competition: Each serving should have 204.70 calories per serving, based on what I was thinking and my analysis 7 cups of water 3 cups of tapioca pearls (approx 1632 cal total in pot, serving size per cup 163.20 cal) 1/2 cup of trader joe’s light coconut milk (75 calories total, individual serving 7.5 cal) 2 cups of trader joe’s soy milk unsweetened (140 calories total, serving 14 cal.) 1 sugarcane block (known as rock sugar or equivalent to 4 tbs of granulated sugar in calorie count)/Can be substituted with molasses or regular sugar (I know the sugar are or will be important to control, I used sugar cane instead of regular sugar as it is more traditional, but I can substitute it for other sweeteners) Approximately 200 calories total, 20 cal serving 1 Large basic metal pot Optional ingredients include: 1 cup Chopped apples/1 cup Chopped strawberries/1 cup of cantaloupe/or other available fruits Fruit is usually used to accentuate the flavors of the coconut milk, but it depends on seasonality and what is available. Instructions: 1. 1. Boil water and tapioca pearls at medium heat to bubbling 2. 2. Remove the pot from the stove after it starts bubbling and stir the pot thoroughly, especially the bottom to make sure the tapioca is not stuck to the bottom. After several stirs, place a lid over the pot and let it rest for 10 minutes 3. 3. Place the pot back on the burner, start add in your ingredients: soy milk and sugar cane block. Let it simmer on medium-low heat and stir thoroughly for another 15 minutes. 4. 4. Add in light coconut milk slowly and mix/stir thoroughly, let it cook for 10 minutes at low heat a. If the soup is too thick due to the materials (happens if heating procedure was not followed properly, it congeals the food), add in 1 more cup of water or soy milk depending on the flavor profile. (to reduce sweetness and make consistency less thick add water, To reduce thickness only add soy milk.) 5. 5. Remove the pot from the burner and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before putting it in the refrigerator for the chilling process 6. 6. At serving time, you may mix in fruits into the individual bowls to help improve flavor.

I've thought about surrogacy, too. I had an idea a while back, if I ever met the right guy, I asked my sister if she'd be willing to be a surrogate for me. Or, if he has a sister, I could give her my sperm for surrogacy, too. We will have real biological and family connections between both of us and the kid, so I don't know it seems like a decent idea. Now, I just have to find the guy.
  22. Lol you're right. Now everyone prepare the smart bombs for that California dream home.
