    Story

The Mark By Phantom The feeling he got when he finally seduced the mark for the night rang through him The primal urge feeling satisfied as he looked down and removed himself from that mark Satisfied that he finally quenched his thirst, he rolled over in the bed and fell asleep Not even saying a thank you or good night to the mark for the night He awoke the next morning ready for another round, the mark only ready to please Th

    Chapter 1

This is a good start in what looks like a good story. I'm really interested in seeing how it progresses and how Jerry develops. I can predict that so far nothing is really what it seems.

    Chaos

It's been chaos for the past week or so, and it's been getting to me. I've been going hardcore style with school trying to finish up my MCSA certification and work full time (rather 50+ hour weeks). It's been stressful but what can I say, I've gotten used to it. What I haven't gotten used to however is the self-centered additude that I've been experiencing with my mother. Lord knows I love her to death but lately she has been driving me up a wall. Monday night was the last straw however and me and her got into it BIG time. She knows that I've been working and doing school work and also helping around the house as much as I can, but she told me that I haven't been helping her at all around the house and that I needed to cook dinner. This wouldn't have been a problem, but if you take into account the fact that I had to fast for 12 hours to get blood work done, had an appointment at my school with my professor, ran errands for me and her and came home to study, well, you get the picture. She told me to get dinner started and that she would finish it up. This, of course, is after I told her that I needed to study. So sue me if I get grumpy and snippy with her, and tell her exactly how I feel. This started a huge argument between us, with her accusing me of being ungrateful and a self-serving asshole. I of course retaliated telling her that I'm trying to work full-time, get school work done and run errands for her and sue me if I want not even 5 mintues where she doesn't have me doing something for her. Thats when she starts yelling at me that I'm ungrateful after all she's done for me, being there when I was sick, letting me live at home rent free and the like. Well, I lost my temper and finally told her that when I came home it was like being at work and that's why I don't stick around as often and I stay up late when she's in bed because then I get some peace and quiet. She started carrying on and well, I left the house. I drove to where I will be living and stayed with the roomates for a bit. I came home today to pick up some things that I left at home for work and bolted out of the house. I texted mom saying that I was working today 3-11 and that I would be working tomorrow 8-8 (staff conference and some coverage hours due to a gap in subs for my program) but we would talk and lay thing down on the line because, as I told her when I called her before, we need to have a talk. She agreed and she did say that she was sorry, but that it was mostly my fault for storming off. I just bit my tounge with that remark and said that we would talk tomorrow, which I'm planning on doing. I also talked to my roommates and they gave me some advice on what to say and take things because they were both in the same position that I'm in at one point. So pretty much, I know what'd going to happen and like I'm going to tell my parents, I'm going to be gone until Tuesday next week because we both will need time to think and cool off, because the talk will be one hell of an argument. Lots of love Eric

    SitRep

Lot's been going on, and it's been taxing really... As some of you know I'm moving to the Philly Area around December if all goes well, and right now I've been working on jobs and the like, I have a few promising leads and should be able to get one (The one organization I applied for seems to really like me...). I've also applied for the Fall 2011 semester to goto MonCo (Montgomery County Community College) and am getting a start on my loooong trek for my doctorate in Psychology. It should be interesting, but fits in well with what I'm doing now, where my strengths lie, and the like. I'm excited for it and it should be fun and hard but I'm up for the challenge I've been slacking on my writing but once I get the general theme down, I should start posting my story soon... and also the blogisodes (the snippets I'm posting in my blogs) should keep you shivering with anticipation.... Well off to another day at work. Should be fun. Eric
  9. I'm working on my story and well... I'm stuck... I'm having a hard time laying out the scene for chapter two... I can picture it and feel it... But it's not translating from the ideas in my head to text... Any ideas... Or should I just drop the nuke and obliterate the scene
  10. I'm not sure but I think there's an ePub add-on that you can use on both open/libre office and open office. The only reason I bring up ePub is because it's becoming, if not already, the dominate ebook format. Heres a good example of the three formats and the way I use them: Doc: good for copying and pasting on websites with a built in text reader like GA, especially if you don't know HTML HTML: it's good for publishing on websites as well. I use this for GA and way back when NIfty when I was writing. PDF: I use this format at work when doing things like IHP's, progress notes, meeting minutes and the like. My job, state agencies and other places use this since it holds the formatting and usually the size is under 1meg. Also we can edit them as well with Acrobat. EPub: more online bookstores and eReaders are allowing this as the default format and there are more tools online. So if your thinking of publishing, or distributing stories, you can do it easier for the portable market. Also I like this discussion so far, leers keep it going! Eric

    Let the Rain Fall

Same deal as before... this is Heavily beta so theres gonna be HUGE issues with Grammer and words and the like... I'm just publishing little snippets to gauge a possible audience Also, this is the prequel which will appear before the actual story. So some characters will be in the story, some wont, only time (and my muse) shall tell... Yea, this was a bit longer, but I think it's a bit more enticing. Lemme know what ya think! Eric
  13. Well... to follow up on what I was talking about with ePub tools: B&N eBook Publishing Tool Amazon Kindle Publishing Tool Apple's Pages Now here's another idea/tool to add to the mix... I'm a huge fan of audiobooks, especially Podiobooks. Pretty much all you need to publish a book is a story, mic, recording equipment (there are many free ones i.e. Audacity) and a place to host them. Then comes the sticky part which deters people, the ability to host them. Here's a link on the iTunes site on Podcasting. Personally once I get my story done I'm going to offer it via GA but also if it does well, give people copies via PDF and ePub, as well as allowing the GA version on here.
  14. Hey guys! Here's a question for the masses and I'm really interested to see what people think... I came across an article the other day on the web and saw that Barnes and Noble has an eBook publishing program for those who want to publish eBooks. I'm not sure on the specifics, but it sounded intriguing. Well, two days later my free trial of MS Office for Mac expires and not wanting to spend 150 bucks (yes I am a cheapskate ) I went with the iWorks suite (Apple version of MS Office) and saw that I can export documents as an ePub format (or an ebook) and load it onto devices that accept ePub formats (Nook, Sony, iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad, to name some off the top of my head). To top it all off I've come across LibreOffice (aka OpenOffice.org) and has export as PDF file... which means that any device that reads PDF's, can read that. Well sitting here typing up another chapter (rather trying to... my muse has road lag lol) I was thinking, what if I published in HTML, like on GA, AND published in ePub and PDF and distribute that way to those who want eBook/PDF formats for on the go. So, I bring it to you guys, what if your favorite author could do something like that? Would you be willing to download that onto a portable device instead of dragging a laptop or sit infront of a desktop to read something? What's you're take? Eric
  15. Oh ya! When I read Twilight I could not wait for more because of that reason. I always love when an author goes into detail because it shows the effort they're putting into their work. Love it James and I can't wait for more!
  16. Curiouser and Curiouser... I want more! Can't wait James!
  17. Thanks guys, like I said this was heavily beta... and I would've had someone look it over, but I figured why not do it as is lol. I might post more teaser snippets as I go along... so it should be an interesting go of things... Oh and one final thing.... You cannot prevent and prepare for war at the same time. ~Albert Einstein
  18. Lemme know what you guys think... It's a teaser and heavily and I mean HEAVILY beta right now. I want to get a general feel for how people like it before I continue with this one... I'm also working on another story which will also have a teaser posted in the near future Eric
  19. my job im out to the staff but not thw residents... but otherwise im out to anyone who asks...
  20. Ronald Reagan (1981 - 1989) George H. W. Bush (1989 - 1993) Bill Clinton (1993 - 2001) George W. Bush (2001 - 2009) Barack Obama (2009 - Today) I was born in '86 so I live under Reagan for 3 years... but I don't remember anything of him. I can remember Bush Sr only because I remember the ultimatum he gave to Sadam and when you're young and your dad's in the military and you see you're mom crying it kinda sticks with ya (Dad was in Saudi Arabia at the time). **GASP!**

Well... after close to a year, I started to write today... It's weird I know, but I just sat down in front of Word on my computer and before I knew it an hour passed and I had a few pages written. On some other notes, I moved some more stuff to my new place today. I hung around for most of the weekend, with the exception of switching my phone to a family plan (yay verizon!), going to an art gallery with Joe and doing some other errands in the morining, and going to my first gay bar in the area that night, the Beagle. Other then that, it's pretty much the same, and I really can't wait to be back at my place Eric
  22. Just to add a bit more to the Star Trek/FutureTech discussion... I came across a news article on slashdot discussing an international fusion reactor based in France: http://www.iter.org/ Fusion reactors were very common in Star Trek so it would be interesting to see how this turns out... Eric
  23. I think I'm in the same boat as CJames because my typos are horrendous sometimes and other times they're manageable (I'm really notorious with your and you're). That's why when I write a paper, story, etc I always have someone check it over. Though I can articulate well when speaking, me and typing will always have a battle going on lol. Eric
  24. Ain't that the truth... I regret meeting you
