    Don't Panic.

The title says it all and those words mean a lot to different people. To me it's what I tell myself every morning when I wake up, before I walk into work, before I head out with friends and even before I open up a DomLuka story and wonder what cliffyness Dom has for me (Dom you're the bomb!). Don't panic. I got snowed in at work last week and while I had the worst night's sleep, I had fun helping the residents who needed it during the night, though needless to say I won't ever do an overnight unless I have a way of keeping myself awake by sleeping before my shift or have LOTS of coffee at my disposal. My old job at the garage still owes me about 20 some odd hours worth of owed pay and i'm waiting for them to pay me (it's been almost a month and a half now). I submitted a wage complaint with the Dept of Labor, so we'll see how long it takes them now to get me my owed money. School's going well, I'm set to take some more tests this coming week and hopefully they'll go as well as my other ones have. Valentines Day has come and gone, and I have to say it was fun. I spent the day working at my new job and made my residents a heart shaped cake with pink icing, which they loved (they also loved the dinner I cooked for them). I really like this job, it's an eye opening experience. And I think I'll finally explain why I have the star up as my avatar picture here on GA. My friend Frank was deployed again to Iraq. I've known him since middle school and while we're not super close, we try to talk and hang out when we can. He's a marine and is currently in Baghdad and my prayers and wishes for a safe return are with him. Also my dad is on notice to be deployed as well, though theres a chance that his unit will be passed over this time. Anywho, i'm off for more book learnin (as in playing some Band Hero on the iPod Touch before I hit the bed). Latas

    blog in 60 seconds

Aw a foster dog? That's so sweet! She sounds like my old dog missy (her old owners stuck her in a dryer, pulled at her and other forms of abuse yet she still loved people to death). Also it's great to see you working again, and also tell Jim the Editor I said thanks for helping you out! I'm goin through a rough patch right now and you're stories are helping out big! Eric
  17. Well I watched Caprica and I have to say it's a change from what I'm used to (both BSG: TOS and BSG: Re-visioned). This time instead of dealing with more military and distopian references like in the previous ones, you're dealing with more political and socio references this time. Like W.L. referenced, there were a lot of alternative views on things relating to homosexuality, but also to religious strife as well (polytheism being the accepted religion compared to the monotheism religion). It's different and I have to say that I can't wait to see how it turns out. Eric
  18. Currently: My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George I read this in school what seems like ages ago, but recently stumbled upon it again. I forgot how good it was and well, now can't seem to put it down Here's the Wikipedia entry for it: My Side of the Mountain Next Book: One Second After by William R. Forstchen I heard a lot about this and it seems that it's a very intresting take on the subject of Electromagnetic Pulses and how they can affect not only the American way of living, but how it can affect a country as a whole. The Wikipedia entry for it: One Second After and I guess I should mention that I'm also reading a book for school as well, it's kinda a mix between required reading and personal reading (what can I say, I'm a dork like that ) MCSA/MCSE: Windows Server 2003 Network Security Administration Study Guide by Russ Kaufmann and Bill English WARNING: May contain technobable and more information about computers then you ever want to know The Amazon entry for it: MCSA/MCSE: Windows Server 2003 Network Security Administration Study Guide Eric

    Changes

Well lots have been happening as of recently, so I'll do my best to list them all here: 1. I'm single again, and this time it was a good breakup. We both agreed that things weren't the same anymore, that we were loosing touch with our original feelings, so we ended up just becoming good friends, so the way I see it I lost a lover and boyfriend, but gained a best friend out of it. 2. School started up again, so i'm gonna be busy with that again. I got my second round of testing next week and go from there onto my third which is going to be a new start for me! 3. Work is being chaotic, but soon (basically in February) it'll be decent again. I called my manager today and told her that I would no longer be available to work Saturdays at the garage which she was kinda disappointed to hear, but oh well. I'm going to be working more and more at ARC and once I get my med training in, I'll be up to 20-30 hours a week there on average which will be nice 4. I still don't have a car yet, but hopefully by the end of summer, beginning of fall I will have one. So yea... i'm gonna be busy, but less stressed really. Cheers! Eric
  24. I like mice better, mainly because I'm used to them (and it's impossible to play some games on a trackpad )
  25. The marines have a similar saying: "Pain is only weakness leaving the body."
