  1. A few weeks ago I read about a Japanese word that refers to the desire to use the restroom in a bookstore. Defining something and giving it a name gives it more power. Sometimes that’s a negative though, with school shootings, going ‘postal,’ and workplace shooting taking on so much meaning that they inspire copycats who never would have considered committing that act.
  2. Thanks to all, especially @Mikiesboy for the shout out ❤️
  3. Eeewww! That would be incest! ;–)
  4. Well, when you’re independently wealthy, you can move wherever you want to live… and you can pull strings to get the Gay brother and his boyfriend jobs halfway around the world so they’re out of the picture too. Gwyn can make up her own mind. Women can do that these days. They don’t need the men in their lives making decisions for them. Don seems to think he needs to protect Gwyn from Dusty. Dusty seems to think he can save Gwyn by marrying her. No one seems to want to hear what Gwyn has to say about things.

    Life Goes On

You know, that Range Rover would seem to fit in just right with the horse-owning lifestyle… ;–)
  6. Fago, Confitebor tibi circa 1700. Orlinski sings (listen at least to the start of the second number)

    Life Goes On

It’s good to see that Max, Louis, and Don all want Max to live with Louis & Don. That Max wants to put off reading Louis’ father’s books indicates to me that he’s planning a future that includes moving in with Louis & Don. They’ve forged a bond already and it can only get stronger over time. And it’s not just about food! ;–)

    Life Goes On

It was difficult for Louis to leave his mother right now. Things are still a little raw for both of them with his father gone. But both need time to heal and they each have their own lives. Louis’ mother needs to be on her own to adjust to being without her husband. While she was never really going to be prepared for it when it happened, she knew it was coming for a long time and she would have been slowly adjusting to the idea. Taking her away from her home immediately would just delay her grieving and recovery. And we know that many Lesbians are fantastic caregivers. Laura & Maureen will take good care of Louis’ mother without overwhelming her. Her other friends will be important support too. ;–)

    Chapter 3

Tracy seems to have very well-developed Gaydar… plus Jeff seems to be well-known as Gay throughout the school. ;–)

    Chapter 3

Jimmy’s jealous of the attention Jack is giving Tracy? ;–) I’m more puzzled by Tracy. Why does he initiate groping then rush away? Why does he avoid talking to Jack? Is he attracted to Jack? Was he rejected by a former friend after they had fooled around? Has his father warned him away from getting close to other boys? ;–)
  11. Yolo County isn’t that bad! But it’s certainly not a place that has a particular emotion attached to it like some other parts of California! There isn’t much there other than UC Davis, a huge casino, and lots of agriculture. Metro Sacramento doesn’t have the greatest climate in California unless you’re a plant. ;–) [/sarcasm]

    Distractions

That would be the famed Yellow Book that was mentioned on All Gardens Great and Small, right? I know that Sunset Magazine* at least used to offer occasional tours of their gardens before they moved to a new location. My impression (since I’m not connected to any gardening groups) is that garden tours are rare in the US. That was another example of how volunteering helps both the client and the volunteer! Both Eric and Andy are seeing the world through different eyes and discovering that their world is a much larger and more interesting place than they’d thought. ;–) * Sunset Magazine was started by San Francisco-based Southern Pacific (railroad) to promote travel to the West Coast. The magazine title echoed the name of SP’s premier Sunset Limited route, which ran between New Orleans and San Francisco (Amtrak still runs a remnant between New Orleans and Los Angeles). The magazine was sold to employees early on, then sold to a family that owned it for 62 years, then Time Warner which sold it to investors (who seem to be running it into the ground). The magazine’s focus shifted from promoting travel to Western lifestyle with articles about gardening, cooking, and architecture after it became family owned. Sprint was also founded by the railroad. SP’s right of way was used to lay fiber optic cable for long distance phone calls in competition with the then-monopoly AT&T. Their early ads featured a pin dropping, emphasizing the clarity of the sound over fiber optic cables as compared with the much amplified signals passed along copper wires on AT&T. The name came from an employee contest with the two initial letters referencing the railroad’s name.

    Chapter 8

I recently read an interesting not-a-mystery-to-solve murder spree story, A Mann’s World on Awesome Dude (or on iomfats). It was unusual in that the multiple murders were merely the background for the real story. It was about the police who try to solve the crime, but we never had all the pieces to solve it ourselves because that wasn’t the purpose of the tale. ;–) The protagonist is in his twenties with most of the other characters being much older, but a couple of them are teenagers. ;–)

Maybe you should wait and binge-read the story… ;–)

    Chapter 8

It is up to you @Timejun! ;–) If you want to read the rest of the story all at once, it’s posted on @Ronyx’s website, The Mustard Jar. In addition to all the stories he has posted here on GA, he’s posted chapters of his most recently written story before they arrive here. I like the interactivity of Commenting here, so I’m resisting temptation to read those newest chapters. ;–)

    Chapter 8

I guess I shouldn’t post a sentence that includes ‘Josh,’ ‘unique,’ ‘bully,’ and ‘remorse.’ ;–) Gary is clearly better since he can joke with Dr Lassiter and his mother. It’s good that he decided he wouldn’t hide when asked about his sexual orientation. I know both he and Todd were glad he made that decision because it meant he got his first kiss! ;–)
  18. Now you’re hinting that Guardian Angels are conspiring with you to wake me up? ;–) Next you’ll be telling me that Guardian Angels are conspiring with my doctors to get me to exercise. That’s when I’ll know you’re just making stuff up because I never exercise! Someone has to break those stereotypes about Californians! ;–)
  19. Aren’t most teenagers Drama Queens? Don’t most teenagers wildly overreact to things? I think it’s partly due to not having the experience to realize the actual scale of whatever they’re upset about – being grounded and not being allowed to attend a party won’t end your social life, much less your mortal one! ;–)
  20. Timmy’s solar-powered dragon appeared in his Feeling Blue. ;–) Timmy always thinks I live in London. I guess Danes confuse my California accent with Cockney! That’s okay because we get all those miniature European countries mixed up. ;–) I’m going back to sleep now. ;–)
  21. So now I know why I woke up in the middle of the night (3:30am)! It’s all your fault @Timothy M. and @aditus! It’s a good thing I don’t have anything to do later. ;–) There’s some kind of conspiracy going on. Ariel seems to be in on it. I wonder how big it is? Maybe Diego can go find a sun-powered dragon to escape with! ;–)
  22. Not an apparent pedophile cult member? ;–)
  23. I can never understand why so many supposedly religious people are so focused on other people’s behavior rather than their own. Wasn’t that one of the lessons in their New Testament? Of course, they like to ignore the ‘Love one another’ lesson too. ;–)
  24. Aside from Susie, it's only Donnie who needs to realize that Robbie is Gay, will always be Gay, and that there’s nothing wrong with Robbie (or anyone else) being Gay. Trust me, whenever you think you’ve hit rock bottom, you discover new levels far below the ones you thought were the lowest you could possibly go! There. I fixed that for you! ;–)
