  1. Polari was a most British (UK/Irish) language. The Wikipedia page has a lot of interesting background. Some words are still used and some have crossed over to the US. ;–)
  2. I’m with Aidan, healthy stuff doesn’t usually taste good! ;–)

    Chapter 5

…and I can’t stop thinking about you! You’re out of my league, but I want to be your friend. My brother always breaks all my toys too. He knows I like you. Or something like that! ;–) Mom’s Gaydar has found two Gay boys in school and paired them up. ;–)
  4. How soon before we can read the new adventures of Rush, Ben, and Clay (and Carl)? ;–)
  5. I think @Timothy M. should change his Reaction to a Haha so @Dodger can have a Full House! ;–)
  6. You’re probably collaborating with Fran’s Mafioso family! ;–)
  7. Denial. Self-medication. Hmm. Maybe we need to stage an intervention! ;–)
  8. Poor Amy and Daniel! They’re on the periphery, but still suffer from the side-effects of the toxic environment that Donnie-boy and Susie have created due to their incompetence – especially Donnie’s outright hostility towards Robbie’s sexual orientation. How can two supposedly educated adults let things get so out of control? I would think such an encounter would only further traumatized little Luke. But perhaps a few sessions between Alex and Symmonds would expose Symmonds as the hypocritical, self-hating MSM he so obviously is. I could see Symmonds begging Alex to punish him for his desires. Maybe Alex has discovered a future career as a BDSM Master! ;–)
  9. So will the potential Nick & Noah sequel be a mystery? Something about a thin man, maybe? Dash & Lil? ;–)
  10. An unusually structured mystery that has you confused and wondering which details are important and which facts are mere chaff to be tossed into the wind. The serial format allows readers to speculate on what you’ve just read. I find the conjecture adds to the fun of reading this story. Other readers notice details you skipped over. Anything more I add will spoil your enjoyment! ;–)
  11. That was a satisfying ending to this very frustrating story. Frustrating in a good way. Very confusing with a very interesting and unusual structure. ;–) I spent most of my time reading this while being unsure and unaware of what exactly I was learning and what I should be paying attention to. So many details that didn’t seem to fit together. Facts that didn’t seem to be part of the question or answer. Interestingly, most of the time I was reading this mystery, I was reading a story about a serial murder, A Mann’s World by Rick Beck. Rick explained to me that his story was less about a mystery to solve and more about the man assigned to go undercover trying to find clues about the murders. I find mysteries frustrating and confusing because my brain isn’t wired to figure them out logically. I read both of these stories only because I have enjoyed the other stories these two authors have written. But I’m really glad I persisted and read both stories to their conclusions. ;–)
  12. Would @Cole Matthews be cruel enough to toss us one final red herring as a cliffhanger? ;–)
  13. Except you did give us two clues! You’ve told us that @Okiegrad’s apocalyptic plot twist won’t be happening. And you’ve made it pretty clear that Robbie won’t be doing what would be in Robbie’s best interest: voluntarily going to the hospital to get checked out and reporting what happened to the police (which would be dire for Alex and probably Donnie-boy). ;–)
  14. I got to see this on the big screen. I don’t remember the events myself even though I lived through that time period. But the documentary was fascinating! ;–)
  15. Self-medication? ;–)
  16. @Dodger have you been taking your meds? Have you missed a few therapist appointments? Do you need to have your dosages adjusted? ;–)
  17. Yet again, I have to scream that all of these people need therapy! Robbie has never spoken to a therapist about his mother’s death, his traumatic adjustment to a de facto new country and family, and the hate crime attack at school. Donnie, Donnie, Donnie. Your homophobia is only the most visible psychological issue you need to deal with. Susie, Susie, Susie. Your wishy-washy flip-flopping is getting tiresome. You claim to support Robbie, but have repeatedly failed at the simplest tasks. Alex. How have you not been in therapy to talk about your neglectful and abusive sperm donor? And why is Luke not in therapy and medicated due to his apparent ADHD? Or does he have bipolar disorder? Besides he also endured life with his neglectful sperm donor too. It would be good for Nicola, Daniel, and Amy to talk to a therapist about how they feel about the drastic and abrupt changes in their family life, first with the addition of their cousin/adopted brother, then the fostering of both Alex and Luke.
  18. There are some authors who question my lucidity! ;–)

I don’t know why it wouldn’t be Canada Tire just like California Pizza Kitchen! ;–)

    Chapter 2

I remember Mikhail Baryshnikov in White Nights with Gregory Hines. I had no clue who Helen Mirren and Isabella Rossellini were – Helen Mirren, of course, played Sarah Winchester in Winchester and Isabella Rossellini was the voice of Buffy the Hamster in the Closet Monster! ;–)

    Chapter 2

It’s not uncommon for authors to post chapters on their own sites before they get posted on GA. I know Dabeagle does it all the time. I’m sure others do too. ;–) I’ll be patient and read them here so my Comments are public – while being reassured that more chapters are already in a queue. ;–)

    Chapter 2

All that and Jack and Tracy aren’t just talking! I’ve never grabbed someone that I’ve only met a few days ago. Someone’s not quite as shy as they seemed to be. ;–)

I couldn’t figure out why Louis would want an ice-cold wooden train with a lemon wedge! So I looked up the word and discovered that Tim is reminding us that Canada is definitely not the 51st state! Bags of milk, Brio soft drink, Canada Tire – it’s like Canada is a whole separate country or something! ;–) Like Max, root beer is my drink of choice with pizza! ;–) Not that we’d necessarily have heard about it, but have any of Max’s friends visited him since the accident? I’ve seen TV news reports on classmates rallying around injured athletes and other popular kids. There was even one case where the injured student had to be taken out of state to a hospital that specialized in his type of injuries and his classmates continued to support him despite the distance. Could Max’s classmates have sent him a video greeting from school? ;–)
  24. So Tony would be jogging after the alien monsters while Geoff walked briskly to assist? ;–)
  25. @northie could be trying a new genre! This could turn into one of those classic British Whodunits! Just don’t have a chase scene like they always had in all those classic Dr Who episodes they recorded in the gravel pits! ;–)
