Okay, so now we have Billy Martin. In the US, there was a baseball manager named Billy Martin who coached the Oakland A’s in the Seventies. He was well-known for his short temper. But you almost certainly wouldn’t have known that when you chose the names of your characters.
Billy Lee was part of the title of a 1973 Seals & Croft's song, Ruby Jean and Billy Lee off the Diamond Girl album. While the bulk of the story predates the song, the album was #4 in the US and #8 in Canada. Apparently, the Los Angeles-based soft rock duo wasn’t as big in the UK.
And now we have Chris Martin. The former Mr Gwyneth Paltrow is lead singer for Coldplay. I’m guessing you weren’t aware of Coldplay’s 2000 hit, Yellow when you chose Chris’ name either.
Or maybe you were subconsciously aware of all those things (as well as the ‘coincidences’ I pointed out earlier) and decided to make a game out of their names!
