Was this a shotgun marriage? Or were they just very young when they decided to get married? Were they too immature to have made the commitment to have Jake when they did? ;–)

It’s more that Sarah’s brother went off to college and apparently graduated (thus qualified) while Sarah crashed spectacularly when daddy wasn’t able to bend the rules for her. ;–)

At least daddy didn’t install Sarah in the position. I wonder where the Stanford dropout ended up? ;–)

Jake is a typical teenager. Even though he understands why Danny was interested in spending so much time with Kayla, he still was selfish enough to be jealous – and then satisfied that Kayla dumped him. He’s also in a tough position, stuck in the middle of a tug of war with his parents – at least he’s smart enough not to takes sides or provide extra ammunition to one or the other.

Incumbency has the built-in advantage of name recognition that’s very difficult to overcome, especially for local races. It’s often extremely difficult for a voter to discover that a candidate is LGBTQ+ or LGBTQ+supportive when they are running for a local race, especially when it’s the first office they’re running for. I’ve done some searching to detect details like that in two different cities I’ve lived in to discover candidates with connections to LGBTQ business organizations and pride committees (suburban candidates don’t always get endorsements from LGBTQ+ organizations even when they’d otherwise qualify). After several losses, I was able to vote in an apparent LGBTQ+ candidate for a political County Central Committee in the last Primary. ;–)

Like Reric, my father was a Protestant minister. But unlike Reric, I am an Agnostic because of my religious background. I don’t claim that there is no god, but I have no proof of her existence. My childhood experiences caused me to reject organized religion. My experiences being homeless only confirmed that feeling. While there were a handful of religious people who genuinely wanted to help with no ‘quid pro quo’ (including people from the Berkeley Zen Center and an LDS woman and her very young son), there were far more examples of hypocrisy and prejudging. Few people were actually following the actual philosophy of the god that they claimed to believe and follow. I remember a very homophobic homeless guy who claimed to be religious, yet he earned money selling pirated music and movies at his church.

Scientists say that the sign language-speaking gorillas never asked any questions. It was as if the thought never occurred to them. They were clever enough to create words when they needed to and learned by watching, but never considered that they could get information by asking.

Unusually for Geron, this is a romance, not a fantasy story. ;–) While the human characters are well-drawn and unique, the Boltfort building is an engaging and fascinating character in itself. The loving and detailed descriptions of New York City almost make me hate the city less. ;–) We get to know David and his grandfather as we figure out a non-mystery puzzle.

At first I thought the reinforcements would be Zane & Dan, but didn’t see what they had to offer. Obedient Dan isn’t something I thought of. Then I thought of April’s classmates and they seemed to have even less to offer. Jett and Zane left the Zee-Bros, but they might have been just the ticket! ;–) It will be interesting to see how the two dads interact. I’m guessing [hoping] that Laura won’t infect them with the Gay Virus. That would be… disturbing. ;–)

Okay, you’re fulfilling your pledge to not continue the WAR saga, but it’s nice to have the familiar setting anyway! ;–) Billy, Brent, and their friends made quite an impression on the town if even 14-year-olds remember what happened a decade ago! I’m guessing that we have already met the bus driver too. Does Danny live in Brentwood Estates? ;–)

We never did meet grandpa’s boyfriend! Did we ever learn why they don’t live together other than the fact that they both have busy lives? Maybe we could get a prequel focusing on their relationship! ;–)

Things should be interesting for future absentee-winery-owner, Grant. He’ll need to rely on the people his parents have put in place to run the operation day to day. Usually, it’s wealthy out of state buyers who fit that description. ;–) It’s great that Troy finally reached out to Beth. Clearly, she’s been waiting for him to contact her since she called him immediately after he emailed her! It should be fun seeing Beth interact with Grant and the gang. ;–)

Well, I sort of got the ending right. I hadn’t thought about Mark being the maintenance assistant, but that makes more sense than waiting tables. And it makes sense that he’d share the apartment with Mr Santini. ;–) A nice happy ending with no Elf interventions or unexplored doorways to other planets… ;–)

I think David is going to see if his grandfather has any waiting jobs available (or connections to someone else who can offer Mark a job). I’m sure David would be willing to share his room with Mark. I’m not certain grandpa wants a roommate after David returns to his father though. ;–)

In the pre-Seventies or Eighties era, Robbie would not have been allowed to end up happily with another male. Either things would end tragically (for both boys), or he’d discover that he really was straight all along. So in the final chapter of the story, Jaime would either be attending Robbie’s funeral or Robbie's wedding to Natalie! ;–)
