    Control

I guess Adam took the smarter route by not trying to unduly influence Arties’s opinion of Ezra. And the way Artie shut him down, it’s unlikely that Erza will be returning to bother them anytime soon. Even though Ezra really doesn’t understand how wrong he is. It was a good distillation of the difference between California, especially the Bay Area, and Texas. We’ve managed to create so many innovative new ideas while they can only try to syphon off our talent with financial incentives. Back around 1990, my ex told me that the Texas state ‘car’ was a Chevy Suburban. The Bay Area’s car is a Tesla.

Soaps are not a genre that I have much familiarity with. I used to watch Soap (with Billy Crystal’s Jodie Dallas, one of the first major regular Gay characters on US series TV*), Eastenders (in the Eighties), and original Melrose Place (because of Doug Savant’s Matt Fielding (aka the Gay doormat who only reacted to the drama around him and never seemed to have a life of his own). But I never watched any of the popular nighttime soap operas like Dallas, Knots Landing, or Dynasty. * Jodie had a closeted football quarterback boyfriend and at one point was contemplating gender-reassignment surgery. He fathered a daughter with a woman he married and was involved in a custody battle over her. Advertiser pressure prevented any PDAs with his boyfriend.

That’s the last line I ever expected to read in a story by either (or both) Wayne and Tim! …and this is probably the second to the last line! ;–) I’m almost missing unusual architectural details and cute equines… ;–)

    Drama!

I’m not waiting to witness that! I knew a cute, young military vet whose back hair pattern resembled wings. I can only imagine that the wings will get larger and larger until they reach his shoulders. [shudder!] ;–)

But Lupe brushed the fur off his arm and ears. No offense, but this is yet another reason why I’m not attracted to bearish- or otter-type guys! ;–)

    Drama!

Gail would be a nightmare boss to have to deal with. And Terrence has some funny lines and a snarky attitude I like, but he’s also kind of annoying in his obsequiousness. You just know he’d have a snarky line as he sells you out to Gail.

  15. Easy for him, but not for the son he left behind. As others have said before me, suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. And as someone else said, suicide transfers the pain from you to those you leave behind. This Topic includes information about available help not only in the US, but also Canada. Similar programs are available in most of the industrialized world.
  16. Tyrone wants to go home to Canada now. He looks so pathetic these days (yeah, yeah, he always looked pathetic). Those silly, random tattoos don’t make him look any more mature or masculine…

    Chapter 60

Since Mercea is one of their guards, it will be possible for Eric to request that he be assigned to accompany them back to the US. This will allow Eric to continue ‘psychoanalyzing’ him. Of course, Eric will also need to ask for Mikell too, so he can find out if they’re a couple. ;–)

    Chapter 60

Many of us in the US only know what all that means because of TV shows like The Beverly Hillbillies, Petticoat Junction, and Green Acres. All three shows were staple daytime reruns in the Seventies along with Family Affair (with redheaded Johnny Whitaker). People in California worked very hard to minimize a heavy Southern Drawl like that if that’s what they grew up speaking because the speaker is perceived to be uneducated and déclassé. ;–)
  19. At first glance, I thought you had the only Comment on this chapter. Then I noticed I had reacted to the chapter and that had me even more puzzled. I finally notice that this was page two and I realized how stupid I was! ;–)

    Mexican Weave

I’m surprise Trout’s parents are working together, as surprised as he was, apparently. So Grandpa Jim is supplying wigs for drag queens. They can buy Kinky Boots from that British company. Who’s going to tell the story about the company that supplies (external) silicone prosthetic appliances that help with the cleavage illusion? ;–)

    Mexican Weave

And Christopher Cross too! Are you browsing through my early CD collection? ;–) The one thing I’d point out is that the border guards are concerned about who enters the country, not who leaves. I’m sure it’s changed since the Seventies when I last crossed the Mexican border (into Tijuana), but back then the Mexicans weren’t too careful about checking who was going to Tijuana. But even back then, US Border Control was more stringent, making sure you weren’t importing more than was legal and probably issuing fines import duties for higher value items. I can remember the check for undocumented workers on northbound I-5 in US Marine Corp’s Camp Pendleton where it was somewhat like a holiday drunk driver check. You’d pause on the freeway while the US Border Guards looked at everyone in the car and they’d either wave you on, or do a closer inspection. California also has agricultural inspections on I-15 in the desert and I-5 just inside our northern border with Oregon looking for fruits and vegetables (which might be harboring insects that might devastate our crops).

    Chihuahua Papa

Back in the Seventies, I used to love listening to America sing Ventura Highway while my dad drove us down the Ventura Freeway that inspired the song. But I’ve never heard it sung in a Scottish Brogue. And we skipped 8-Tracks and went straight to cassettes that we recorded at home on our stereo cassette deck hooked up to our stereo system. I’d think it was a pot farm except it’s in Mexico rather than California, Colorado, or one of the other states that allow licensed marijuana grow sites. I’m not sure (as a non-smoker) what the legal status is in Mexico, but US Federal laws would prohibit importation. There wouldn’t be much value unless you snuck it across the border.
  23. I probably found it on Tumblr. And that’s probably the largest size posted. It was more than a day ago, so I have no way of tracking it down. But someone told me you can do a Google search on pictures…
  24. I don’t think they have an audience inside to ask questions of the guests. At least one of the national morning talk shows has a window to the sidewalk where people gather to watch the show and hold up signs. And they sometimes send out reporters to interview passersby. One of the local early morning news shows (4-9am) has a window that looks west over a channel of the SF Bay. You can see sailboats and small boats cruising along sometimes. And I’ve seen joggers running along the shore as well. (I try not to watch the show because it means I’m still awake, not that I’ve gotten up early.) ;–)
  25. I laugh at myself all the time here on GA. ;–)
