Sure it depends on the news or magazine site when your implied use as to accepted what you're allow to use it for. Most people accept it without reading it. Sometimes its there as a deterrent. But then its a matter of someone reporting and the news or magazine site verifying and objecting. Sure some are not everyone is like that and yes there are some that are. Its just that not everyone knows - oh I should check my implied use agreement. There is no guarantee whats on youtube is public domain ... they rely on people reporting ... if someone reports - even if the item is public domain ... there is a chance they will take their own safety before re-allowing the video to show. Unless somewhere on the description says its permission is given or public domain - but then that has to be verified. No its not the point of you uploading your own account ... it the fact the website is taking risks ... but really was lucky in your case but not other peoples. Still each creator on a video could be a violator and that the website could get a share of the blame depending upon who makes the stink. Also the responder to your thread may now know if what his youtube url has permission as well. Yup - even copyright office is vague in their FAQ and then say the when in doubt get permission and they citing does not guarantee permission. --- so question is it ok to have url links in ones writing ? as oppose to forum or chat.

Whats really hard is when someone changes POV - you have to dig around - who is I (james, Mary, Paul) This why I usually get pissed at the story ... This is why I am so mechanical actually specifying POV ie John POV I guess as the scene progress - we have to pick up who's the character thats running the scene but if you see I and no other character says Hey Paul .... then I wouldn't know I = Paul its also Hard when "Hey Paul" is like 1/2 way down the scene I am quite literal and specify <John POV> or <Narrator POV> prior to the scene I am writing

That simple forum post puts that website at risk as the forum is open to the public to view at any time thus is considered illegal publishing that the user has done so. Matter of time for someone to report the website. Now for the forum\threads ... someone 30 days to five years from now will find the links or the cut and pasted lyrics or news article. Its would be concidered that siteB violated siteA copyrighted material and\or siteB gave siteA high volume of internet traffic that made them angry (increase data traffic costs) or whatever else. From a Legal point of view - sure it can be done that way but still that would force someone to google or youtube it and listen to the music and then try to get the idea of the story especially if they don't know the song. Sure I have ran into this. Do I appreciate the story not very much some times because its the reader had to go look it all up and that moment you created in writing just got diminished for that reader. And then the person had to reread your moment and try to connect with the moment written. If a step forward to include the links ex: John's voice was sweet and smooth and as he sang, his words trickled into my ears like warm water. The lyrics were sorrowful and yet I felt alive. He was singing to me, for me. Even though I hated Journey's "Don't Stop Believing," the way John sang the song warmed my soul. He was speaking to me through the lyrics of the songs. Conveying to me the words he could never say himself. He believed in me. Loss Love" you would only have what you said but you would not be allow to provide the youtube link nor the lyric link Now how would people feel about your entry ... the sharing is very much diminished ... because they will have to look it up themselves ... by finding it by themselves For the another person to share a similar song again he can't put the link there but do the same as the first entry. The sharing or the connection maybe stalled or diminished. For someone else they could not reference "hey when the guy sang that verse "loss love" half way through the song I got goose pimples ... he sent a message I could hear from his voice that it was meant for me." becomes "hey when the guy sang half way through the song I got goose pimples ... he sent a message I could hear from his voice that it was meant for me." This would be the lack of specific connections. This is one example but there can be multiple places in the song where it make it special between two characters. Sure GA for a story would be force to take down the story and may tell the user if you want the story on the website then you have to remove the lyrics. Not sure really what will happen to the user. Some other sites do something that. I think. Otherwise sure there are many stories still accessible out there that are in violation should artist or songwriter wishes to pursue at their option. Even if the user is no longer there on the site. If they really want witch hunt then they could go down that far. But if you're saying this much the reality of it ... I have go through the link but still there's has been no answer by GA to giving some Guidlines in this matter What I said was using the round about way its still part of the story sort of cited footnote. Its just makes the user go for the song or movie clip or lyrics - while the character is reflecting or talking about so maybe quoting the song title would not be as bad as lyrics in the story. ie: John was singing me Wild Things by XYZ ... its was my first love song from him.
