Wow, its great to learn all this history. Thanks for the clarification that when we associate the word GAY ... that also has meaning for homosexual woman as well. How much we automatically think of the man ... we incorrectly segregate it to the word LESBIAN as meaning for GAY for homosexual women. Then again some people would also think Gay means "same sex love" as well. Thanks for reminding me of that scene in Maurice ... I love Hugh Grant movies I found the First Married Gay Couple ... in the world ... of all places Denmark ... so there's nothing Rotter(dam) in Denmark ... forgiven the pun on an old saying. http://en.wikipedia....and_Eigil_Axgil A Triumph for Love in Denmark

or it could just be mrs blake ... after all mr blake told mrs blake about Trevor it could be a coincidence to carry a seashell since its Trevor n his mother memory. But yes I hope it to be his mother too if not a cuz -
Yaaa, my aunt and mama are homophobic. Not sure if my father is but I'll guess that he is since he is a tough guy to get along with. My sister-in-law knows. But the rest of my family doesn't. I presume they are not as open since we are not a very close family. I am out to some people like one of my co-workers from two jobs ago, my college roommate after the fact, and other gay individuals I meet on the internet or in person. I guess you have to follow your gut instincts about people. I guess if they are truly loving and tolerant people then its worth the gamble. I guess another issue for you is that whoever you tell better be able to keep the Superman's secret most of the time. Not to tell anyone unless you tell them yourself. Mmm, to keep it well hidden. LOL, I am so straight acting my gay college roommate was shocked. The main idea is that I come from where bullies beat up the weak and a minority. If they find out your gay -> dead meat. Thats pretty much is the secret.

Pity this is coming from the wrong hemisphere ... but if it came from the north this would have been a re-enactment of titanic Manhattan-size iceberg set to break away from Antarctica 2 massive icebergs headed for Grand Banks There was a movie called Titanic 2, a syfy movie ... a very large iceburg like the Manhattan one above his this new Titanic that was made for the 100th anniversary ... i guess this movie discourage anyone from actually making a replica Titanic with new features. Real footage

I am starting to understand ... but sounds a little complex than being 100% gay to have flavors than one flavor

I can relate to the rough voices and the treatment ... yeah its a battle ... but soon enough they do go away ... its a matter pay no mind Its only hard when it mixes itself with what your doing ... that's where its so tricky Find a use for the math in what you do ... like inventory, baking, etc math is everywhere ... its always useful Make it a game ... my dad would play this game ... it if I can keep track of the total cost of the groceries ... and not be off by one dollar then I gets to keep the loose change. I see you grown your talent to write that's cool and the art icon is very good,. Perhaps ... when you do venture beyond the gates ... your BF can go with you ... get reacquainted with the people out there. Its not like a big city .., so really u don't have to worry about crime ... and little by little u can make a friend ... or get to know your neighbors Yaa I hear ya ... I too don't go out very much ... but the issue is that we make ourselves a bit un-use to people ... we sort of become a hermit As for yelling at the bf ... lol ... mine deserves it because of what he did to me ... but perhaps when my situation changes ... perhaps he may be dumped ... but he does deserve a bunch of trouble when I leave lol ... same goes with his x-bf(s)

She's gotten injured by what happen so Ares must have been in bad shape and she could not claim insurance to pay for repairs. I wonder if this is Mrs. Blake or perhaps the news reach his mama? gosh next week is the reunion but now koolouberry is risky. -
You do know that there are people who love to recreate the day of Titanic ... what would happen if they were let lose on this 100yr voyage? How would the relative\survivors feel about it?
-
any one put out a book on this?

Yeah, I think maybe there was either a movie on the Britannic or at least a nice history read I found once on her. It sure did hurt the White Star Line original plans of getting rich in the tourist industry. It show that the mud kept the ship from deteriorating compared to exposure to the elements of the deep. If you saw the episode of Curiosity. It showed how much the pressures of the sinking structurally broke titanic in many ways. The designers of its day said she can withstand a lot but truly we found out they didn't build a ship that can be unsinkable. Makes me think of Molly Brown is more of a goddess for the courage she shown that night.

Gosh, Roman government creating gods in Egyptian or roman religion. Certainly can not tell them about separation of church and state. lol But perhaps its more romantic ... to remember one's boyfriend as if he was a god ... I wonder what influence he had on its ppl while he was alive.

I think in your last msg .. I think you meant 1890 instead of 1990 ... you can edit your entry ... it was getting confusing. The interesting thing for her life time between 1858 n 1940 is that she exposed to three periods of writings ... the 1800, early 1900, 1940s which is very close to contemporary writing. She has access to those period authors which is the roots to an interesting knowledge base for any writer can have compared to today. ie: Its like she could have written a letter to HG Wells. That sure would be something compared to anyone today ever getting the chance to get to know period authors that are classically famous. It looks like from her titles she could have written something like the Lord of the Rings but I really presume its more King and Queen. I really don't have a general idea of the type of stories she writes but gosh she really kept busy in her craft. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selma_Lagerl%C3%B6f I wonder how many potential writers can acclaim their roots to her influence. Has she written any thing that contains Lesibian or Gay characters in her novels? Again, Thanks for your contribution to this thread its enlightening.

what about the models of the sculptures and the paintings? it be nice to see any mentioning this in their literature or papers of the time. Has any one lay on the floor to look at the ceiling? it hurts the neck lol

Perhaps you have to mention other novelist who draw from personal experience. Are you a teacher? Just remember your audience, they could get tired of hearing only one author as an example. Thank you for mentioning this author. The question is how does this personal experience affects other people lives?

Yeah to find out she is in pieces ... raising the sister ship is better ... too bad they not think of doing it ... what is her condition?

Sometimes for me my depression kind of makes my mind blink ... like there was disturbance in the matrix Sometimes its bad or its a change in how I think ... perhaps it depends on how my nerve cancer bothers me ... my jobless situation, all the band things I endured in my life that really harmed how I developed in life, Its really hard to survive during the worst times ... but to add insult to injury\death is because of my internet bf n his family n his former bf wow too much drama there sure I wouldn't mind for a better bf ... and a better situation but its not easy to get there ...
-
You also forgot "Raise the Titanic", every kids fantasy of raising a sunken ship. Oh by the way there is a story about someone who built a submarine in NY as to salvage a sunken ocean liner in the 50s or 60s off the coast of new England. Yeah I sort of love submarine and ship stories but then again blame Star Trek for that. Its something when you hear the word ship or boat that you wish to explore its meaning and its adventures.

I don't recall seeing a topic of this sort in the forums. So I thought we should start one. I like to explore here what it was like to be gay in the various parts of history. Our history books pretty much eliminates how gays participated in history. I wonder how many people think we started in the 1980s? So here's one to start it off. I wish each of us to share what kind of participation in history took place. To help shape how we all took part in shaping our lives of today. Oscar Wilde I saw the movie about him played by Stephen Fry. It was very interesting to see how unspoken and being gay in the UK was like how the upper class viewed it. They just tolerated and never spoke about it. Wilde was always interested in the young college men.He had many affairs. Apparently, Queensberry found out and then the troubles for Wilde began. Thus he was outed and it got Wilde arrested and charge for being a sodomite who preys upon the naive young college men. Two years hard labor broke Wilde. He never regain his health back. The movie illustrated a love affair he had with Douglas. Wilde honored the arrangement of exile and then he left the UK to live in Naples. He was reunited with Douglas. They lived a happy life up until the families threaten to cut off their funds. They separated and later on Wilder died. - - - - - In contrast of today, I don't think something like this would have been so much trouble. It depends upon a case by case basis. But today we would not be put to two years hard labor. Perhaps its the change in legal consenting age when your legally an adult and can earn your own living. Back then the issue was money ... living on the family money and their say in your life. If you you still depend on it then they can still have a say on what you do with your life. Hence that happen in Wilde and Douglas case. The secret was out again. - - - - - I think there are more stories out there in history we don't discuss as much as we should. Its important to learn how it shaped our lives of today. I really like to see and learn the real truth that the history books doesn't allow us to know about. Like during the wars ie: WW2 and other kinds of stories ... perhaps in the wild west ... ancient times ... etc Its like getting to know our roots in history.

Perhaps they came into the middle of the story to read what its like and decide to read more or not.

Titanic 3D is coming out in Apr 2012 ... you can have more fun seeing what its like in 3D ... I never been to a 3D Cameron movie ... I saw Captain EO 3D - MJ could have made a TV series for kids out of that. It was so good to see a bit of his acting skills. Soon there will be Titanic 3D trailers like how does one watch that on a 2D screen lol. Oh there is an episode of Curiosity that explore more in detail of how the ship actually sank.

I saw this episode of two brothers backpacking in europe. One is normal size and the other is a dwarf. It was really interesting to see how life is through their adventure. Food they tried and people they met. The traditions they tried. I think they have irish roots. they tried wearing the kilt and the tradition to freeball. lol It really is something to try the strange things that you don't normally experience. But as brothers, its great to share the experience together.
