1. Superb chapter, Dom! Travis and Dennis have the greatest conversations. While I admire Dennis for not wanting to be labelled gay, bi or straight, it does tend to leave a potential "partner" scratching his or her head. Anyway, Travis seems to be dealing with ok. This revelation that Dennis "likes women" is gonna re-raise the top/bottom issue for sure. Again, more labels....but they do help us get through the day without looking like this  I hope Michael turns up in Travis' life again soon. They could be good for one another. I really like the way Dom makes the point about children not needing monster stories when they may be dealing with "monsters" on a daily basis. The counter argument, of course, is that monster stories let kids know that monsters can be beaten. Conner
2. You're a hoot, Nick! Yes, let's bring back the rotary dial phone! I remember them well. When I was a kid, we still had "party" lines - more than one household sharing a phone line. A private line was expensive. Look at us now.
3. Happy B-Day, Duncan!!! Conner
4. Well, aren't you the popular dude! 22 birthday wishes. Not bad. I like to hang out with the popular people. I used to be popular. Versatile, eh? That's good to know. So when are we going to hang out, eh? Conner P.S. Oh yeah, Happy B-day, Tim!
5. "...and cliffs all over the place." As far as I'm concerned, all this means is that CJ has created a safe environment for Chase and Brandon to have their wedding and party. I mean, goats are comfortable around cliffs, so it's perfectly natural for CJ to include cliffs. If anyone thinks that this volcano is just gonna sit there and blow smoke rings for all the wedding guests, you don't know CJ very well. CJ is the most prominent action/adventure goat in all of Goatdom. Can't you just hear him say, "J, CJ," in 007 style? There will be a blast (volcano) after the blast (strippers and pool party). That said, an eruption of the volcano could not be considered a cliffhanger. We've all been warned up front. CJ has even cited plausible evidence for such a disaster. I'm sure you'll agree my reasoning here is faultless. Two things, though, CJ. The volcano cannot erupt before the strippers and pool party! If it does, you will have a lot of explaining to do. Try and not wipe out the continental easterm seaboard of North America. I'm ok if you do do that. I live on the west coast! Conner
6. I definitely voted for his Shadowyness! Whenever I want to feel tense and strung out, I go read LiS 26. CJ has admitted that he doesn't write cliffhangers. I take him at his word. The goat has never given me reason to doubt his integrity. Conner
7. Welcome to the post-whore club!!! Way to go Steve!
8. Ok, so this is my first post since Duncan was "knighted". Sir Duncan. I like that. Needs a little more though. Sir Duncan of the Wounded Heart. That's better. I always find it curious the things an author worries about. Too much background in one chapter! For me, it's all story...background, middle ground and foreground. I particularly enjoyed the segment about Josh and his x-lover. It was so raw. I think it needed to be....in order to understand just how vulnerable Josh was in that relationsip. Actually, I found that vulnerability so frightening....to be that exposed to another human being. I just shiver thinking about it. Great chapter, Sir Duncan! Conner
9. Ok, CJ, when you took the picture of the pool, why couldn't you have found some cutie to stand beside it??? I've always preferred books with pictures. Maybe you could start adding pics into your story....especially when there's a pool party. Another great chapter, CJ!
10. Kyle is driving me right around the bend. Yes, he's caring and takes relationships seriously. However, Kyle seems to have little patience or understanding for Travis whenever he (Travis) doesn't meet his (Kyle) "friend" criteria. Kyle should hand out a list whenever he wants someone to be his friend. The first item is "You must share all your secrets with me." Kyle's reaction to Travis' homosexuality strikes me as being the average reaction from a straight "friend". He pulls the BS about feeling betayed. "You didn't trust me enough to tell me!" Yes, it's all about you, Kyle. Travis does seem quite comfortable with his sexuality. Good on him. Given the demons he already had from his formative years, maybe accepting his sexuality was a walk in the park. I don't know. I'm really quite enjoying the Travis / Dennis relationship. Dennis has grown on me immensely since TLW. Great chapter, Dom! Conner
11. This is really great news, Duncan. Go ahead, stick out your chest. You deserve it. Conner
12. Good grief! When did people start taking me seriously? Cut that out. CJ doesn't. He throws in the odd pool party and I'm happy. If I had wanted to badmouth Francois, I wouldn't have used a capital F in Frenchie. I'm just supporting my goat buddy. All in good fun. I'm going back to my cave now. It's not fun to post here. Conner
13. What do you call 30 millionaires sitting around a tv watching the Stanley Cup? The Toronto Maple Leafs
14. CJ, my grief grows with how disparagingly your "fans" treat you on this cliffie issue....especially that Frenchie! You are constantly being asked to prove yourself. It's quite disheartening. It's good to know that after having researched this story, you will have a backup career as a wedding planner. Hey, there was a pool party in this chapter!!! It was only Eric and the bartender...but still a pool party. Thanks, CJ. Conner
15. I just love "Tequila Eric"! hehehe...just when we thought Eric wasn't going to do anything crazy this time around. No way the ending was a cliffie. It's too hilarious to be a cliffie. More, CJ, more! Conner
16. Hmmmm...Thanksgiving holiday....a day before the Canadian election. Is there some irony here? Conner
17. Happy B-Day, BK! Conner
18. This is great! Now we can following the excellent adventures of Robbie and John. Great pics! Conner
19. I didn't stutter per se, but it was definitely a speech impairment. I would open my mouth to say something and absolutely nothing (no sound whatsoever) would come out. School teachers used to think I was jerking them around. Anyways, I stopped doing that at around 15 or 16 years old. Coincidently, that's when I first started driking beer. I'm sure there was no cause and effect there. Conner
20. hehehe Close enough! Please forward the cake! Wait a minute. Those are dinosaurs on the cake! Are you trying to tell me something??? Thanks, Francois. Conner
21. Had I remembered that this story took place in the world of baseball, I would have been here sooner. I'm probably one of the few reading this story that remembers The Bulldog in his pitching prime. I have at least forty of his baseball cards. He hasn't made it to Cooperstown yet, but I'm still hopeful. Sweet, sweet story! The beginning of pubescence....a challenging and often awkward time in all our lives. I think I still remember some of it. Anyway, I'd better sign off before I start singing some Striesand song. Part I was superb. Conner
22. Happy B-day, Reaper!!! Conner
23. Say it ain't so, Jamie! How about you do the bicep curls and chinups .....and post pics? Conner
24. I can't believe how much empathy I have for all the main characters. I understand them. It's like I've known them for some time. How do you do that, Duncan? Scott's "state" when he took Josh's call was just fantastic. He's so sweet. Luc has me more than curious as to why he has to go back to Nova Scotia - even if Scott wasn't there. That baffles me. So if Matt and Luc hit it off early, the rest of the story will be just a joy. Yeah, right! Thanks, Duncan Conner
25. I'm loving this thread!! Come on all you authors, get in here and play!! :2hands: Conner
