Jason just isn’t feeling it
centexhairysub commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Jason just isn’t feeling it
Who is someone that each of the main characters sort of looks like? Usually, I have no problem picturing the characters that @Robert Hugill describes, but for some reason, neither of these adult characters are clear in my mind. It happens like that sometimes, even if both parents are still around. I have played an active Uncle role in the lives of almost all of my nieces and nephews and that is in the mid-teens in number. You start covering a pickup or two, and all the sudden half your life is taken over. Of course, it does have it's rewards. And how do they think Matthew would respond to any involvement between the two closest family members in his life, or so it would seem. -
The World Keeps Turning
centexhairysub commented on Celian's story chapter in The World Keeps Turning
Something away from the farm, even a few hours a day might be good for Henry and learning to do something he already is interested in might well help his confidence some as well. Dante needs to decide what he wants, but I don't think even he knows what that is at the moment. I am afraid people are going to be hurt more than some others realize. Lord, I almost feel sorry for Flynn. In this society, he is still considered a child, and while what he did to Henry is on some level unforgiveable, is doing it to him any better? -
If you liked the stories by @Mawgrim, you must read @dkstories The Riders Pride, it is another Dragon Rider's of Pern story. It is magnificent. In addition, Test of Blood is one of the best fan fictions that I ever read using the Valdemar stories as the basis. The Rich Boy series is excellent as well, sadly it was never finished, the third story only had a few chapters posted. However, The Bully and Goon are two of my favorite stories of his that are stand alone. And yes, loved all of the stories by @Mawgrim

Life Returns To Normal, For Most
centexhairysub commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Life Returns To Normal, For Most
Well, we can hope that Gavin has truly turned the corner. People do change, and sometimes, especially with teens being ostracized can be something that can start that change. Glad that no one except the one obnoxious girl at the end didn't cause any issues. Let's hope it stays that way. -
Wonderful chapter, nothing but good times, hope nothing spoils it. Can't wait for Sam and Tim to sing, talking about knocking a few socks off of people. I know why Tony wants to wait but was hoping he would let Aaron know about the house soon. And really, could Carol be interested in a younger man? Mike might find himself in over his head, but he might enjoy it. Such good memories from all the past stories coming up with this one.

As always, thanks for this update. I am going to have to go back and re-read some of @dkstories and @Mawgrim; miss them both so much.

Well, the first official meeting went between the two went down like a load of lead bricks. Seems as if they both have their issues in both the past and their present lives. Neither seem to do small talk well, nor do they appear to be very social outside of work situations. Can't wait to see what comes next, how will these two be pulled together next?

Matt & the vinyl records
centexhairysub commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Matt & the vinyl records
The idea of a naked tea is just appealing. Graham and Peter will be perfectly comfortable and I think that while Vince may have a momentary hiccup, he will be okay as well. Dawn is more important in Vince's life that I think he even realizes. Graham is getting his life more in order, but where will Matt fit in it, and does Matt want to fit in it fully? Can't wait to see what is coming next. -

Excellent suggestion, hope more people take a moment to read it for the first time or again. -
Big Brothers, Little Brothers
centexhairysub commented on Celian's story chapter in Big Brothers, Little Brothers
Dante is attracted to Mistress Alice on some level, but even he admits the sex isn't very good between them, now there could be many reasons for that and we may never know why, or it might get better if they slept together more often. I still think Frank is going to be truly hurt about that situation, but we shall see. I know Flynn did the actual act and was punished; but I blame Mistress Britney as much as him. Flynn is a product how she treats him and what she has allowed him to do. Talk about a tangled mess... -
WOW, excellent start to the new story. Already can see so many avenues forward, of course, as the main character, he will survive the fire; but sounds like he might have issues coming at him in the future, can't wait to see what happens next.

As always thanks for the updates. Dammit, missed one of the words this week. Central Texas area here, so we had our share of storms this week, never underestimate Mother Nature. Hope all are ready for the next week to begin. A thank you to all of you that make this site what it is... -
Love me some Kim Carnes...

They better make sure the deserts get to the table without any issues, or someone might come looking for them. So glad that Mike, Jess, and Kellie arrived, Tony needs family in his life and sounds like they could use him in theirs. Maybe they could stay in the area with him, since he just bought himself a house that appears to have plenty of room. Tony supports Aaron so much. I know it is a little thing, but when you have trouble with alcohol and your partner refrains to support you, that really does make it so much easier. Can't wait to see what happens next. Karaoke!!!

So, Hunter is off his probation and going to where he wanted to before that happened, but instead of Anna, he has his first officer, Martin that seems to be his mate. Can't wait to see how this plays out. Marc and Adam obviously approve and have done everything except assign a violinist to follow them around playing romantic music every time they come together. Haven is a remarkable planet; the inhabitants and Marc were both lucky that he was the one that found it. If they could every fully unlock the AI systems that were shut down when they went without power for so long, what might they learn. Can't wait to see what happens next. Mark and Adam still guide the house and family, but what will the next generation do to expand them all.

Something really different, but it pulls you in from the first moment. The character development and writing are first rate as always, but the story is wonderful. Way to short, but I think that helps with the impact of it, and the impact is so unexpected. We get a glimpse at what might be if only fear did not keep us from the truth.

We get a glimpse of what might be if only we could move past the hate, fear, and blind adherence to outdated traditions. What could be for all, just out of reach, but hanging there oh so tantalizing. Bravo.

The Sharp Edge of Elegance
centexhairysub commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in The Sharp Edge of Elegance
William Reed Hastings the Fourth comes off as a real prat; but is that who he truly is, or is that his undercover assignment to keep everyone away? Chapter flowed beautifully, and the dialogue was sparkling, the descriptive nature of the setting was truly first rate. Josh managed to introduce himself to the headmaster, in a manner to make himself damn near unforgettable. Then he and James put on a show to get everyone whispering. Love how Claire and Dan handled the Hastings, but the comments at the end make me wonder how the time with her parents will go? Can't wait to see what is next.- 53 comments

I'll be sure to have some insulin on stand by.

Well, the situation with Jules got complicated rather quickly. But honestly, Maverick and Orion handled it better than I would have suspected. Love that Maverick involved Randy in this every step of the way. Maverick and Randy may not be fully ready to take that marriage step, but they are fully committed. I think there are more and more polyamorous relationships out there than most realize. Some are driven by need, financial, housing, etc.; but many it is just a matter of finding that for some, one person can't get all they need out of relationship from just one other person. Roger Blaney may well get what he truly deserves, but it might be better if he became fertilizer for one of the kelp fields.

Oh My God, could this family be any more perfect. Josh is having his life interwoven into this family with such ease that it is almost scary. Both brothers are treating him as if they have always had him in their lives. Daniel and Claire are there for him in every way that matters. Glad that Josh decided to talk to Daniel and let him know what he is feeling, I would have been happier if he had got into what Walter Green had said, but did the code he was given prevent that from happening or is it his on reticence? Can't wait for the educational testing, I suspect that will surprise more than a few people.

I know she is pregnant and all, but Sandy seems to have come out of this with no punishment other than the fact that she will have to bear a child at her young age, which of course does have serious health issues. Having to register as a sex offender will forever mark both boys, that will affect future educational, job, and housing issues the rest of their life.

Ah, so we get a look at Remy's past. I do wonder how the nephew faired. Remy seems to have more than a few secrets.

You don't rush perfection, simply savor the genius as it appears before you in its own time and own pace.
