You simply must follow your muse. Personally, I never think you can have enough background, but I drive people around the bend always wanting more and that can at times, bog the story down.

Chapter 11 - The Animal
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 11 - The Animal
An island that moves freely from place to place. I do worry about the group separating, what if the island moves and the Mermonster doesn't, and they get separated? Another interesting person, will he join our intrepid band of adventurers or is his mission to understand the island more of a priority. -
Tony was able to connect with someone that was truly pivotal in his early writing history, Bill. Tony is open and honest, and more than a little blunt in his assessment of what it took to get him started on his journey. But that journey is different for each of us. Only we can decide how that journey starts and ends, but then isn't it the journey itself that makes life what you make of it. Can't wait to see some of the questions Tony gets.

2025 Secret Author Story Contest-Reveal the Truth
centexhairysub commented on Cia's blog entry in Gay Authors News
Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with for this one. -
Remy seems to be growing closer to Marc, and Marc seems to be getting closer to knowing what he wants. If we poisoned the girls, or arranged for them to poison themselves, how much trouble would the guys be in? I so want to at least semi like Anduin, but I just can't...

They All Noticed Something Is Different
centexhairysub commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in They All Noticed Something Is Different
Well, seems that the two boys are finding ways to be more open with their family and to a lesser extent their friends. Good for them. Let's hope that this group continues to be friends and finds ways to spend time together. Parents are supposed to love their children no matter what; such a shame that this doesn't happen was too often. -
Chapter 10 - The Mermonster
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 10 - The Mermonster
A sentient ship that is helping out our group, sounds delightful. How sad that the only way to preserve the trees was to turn them into other objects, but how amazing those objects must be. The trenchwyrm appear to be dangerous to be near during their mating season. An island that just appears, not on the maps or known to be in that area; what could go wrong with a picnic on the beach there? -
Maybe it wasn't a random decision; maybe something in his blood drew him to this place. Yes, I doubt it killed the vehicle, but it put in in the position of finding out something about himself. Did his mother survive the birth, or was she killed, was that why he was left at the fire station; or did she transition, and was afraid she might hurt him? So many questions.

Chapter 9 - Elstall
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 9 - Elstall
Kilial is a great addition to our little group. I do think that perhaps Othri is right, or at least his dream was. I think this group needs to stick together and work toward defeating the humans, or at least stopping them in their tracks. -
So glad that Aaron came clean about everything with Tony. And as Tony stated, there is nothing wrong with it. Frankly, if more people would go to counseling of any kind, the world would probably be a better place. I do hope that Aaron talks to his therapist and maybe he and Tony can go to a session or two together, it might help them both. I do worry that Aaron is still a little fragile, hope that nothing happens and he doesn't understand it, and doesn't give Aaron time to explain before the blows up or takes off. Can't wait to see how the writer's group presentation goes.

Truly, just some of the best stories on this site...

Bella's declaration hurt Remy, and the fact that Anduin was part of the reason probably made the hurt just a little bit worse. Anduin satisfied Bella but had to thank about Remy to do so fully. Not sure that little Remy will as forgiving or amenable as Anduin seems to think.

Government would function so much better without politicians. Opening the treaty up to revision will be a disaster. There is simply too many possible outcomes, but Talleyrand is right, while the final document will probably not change much, the time to get to the signing will triple at least. Granger took Daventry's advice about how to handle Caroline, and it worked even better than I anticipated. The gift, even though inferior to what he gave Carmella was such that Caroline is delighted and now in a much better mood. Countess von Lieven will be heading back to Vienna and her boorish husband. But sounds like she will have some entertainment on the way, LOL. She is bright and engaging, let's hope the Tsar listens to her reports more than her husband listens to her suggestions on how to improve his performance. Granger and Daventry need to get back to London and see if they can undo some of the damage that Hawkesbury did, but unfortunately, it is probably too late. Of course, their return will also put in motion the plans to help HRH Princess Amelia and Calvert. Maybe with the rubies and a few other bribes, the time that Caroline will have to spend at Cowes won't be a complete annoyance for George. As always, you give us all so much, Happy Birthday @Mark Arbour

Chapter 8 - The Debris Field
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 8 - The Debris Field
Sad to say that the majority of humans always want to destroy what they cannot control or do not understand... -

Deirdre’s idiot boyfriend
centexhairysub commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Deirdre’s idiot boyfriend
I hate that any of this may cause Toby any hurt. People, but especially kids, can be vicious over the dumbest things. Toby only has a slight connection to Jasper through his mother, but it will be enough for some to come down on him about his. While I have never been a fan of Deidre, I am giving her the benefit of doubt for the moment. She has always had a job and a rather good paying one at that, my impression has been that she always rather took care of herself. Did she know what Jasper was doing, probably, at least in part; but like most people, I doubt she thought about the organized crime aspect, more like Jasper and his brother bringing in a few dozen purses and a couple of cases of perfume and selling it about. Jasper's mother is going to want to blame someone other than Jasper and his brother; and as we know from past comments, she has never been a huge fan of Deidre. So, it would be easy for her to want to blame the harridan that led her poor son a stray. Like he couldn't have said no. And let's don't forget, the fact that Jasper appeared to be stalking Toby is what started Brian and Gordon, as well as Russ's involvement in this. Brian and Gordon and all of them need to do what they can to protect Toby. If Deidre wants to come see Toby for the holiday, more power to her; not sure about Toby going that way alone, but perhaps Brian and Gordon or one or the other could go with him. Can't wait to see what happens next... -
Like everyone else, it appears my worry over how Aaron was going to respond to the gift was in error. After an initial reaction, Aaron seemed to handle the idea of the new vehicle with good grace and humor. And now both Tony and Aaron have said the love word. Sounds like this new idea for a novel is getting more real by the moment.

More Pool, A Trip North, and Oops
centexhairysub commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in More Pool, A Trip North, and Oops
Jeff just can't help himself on some level, let's all hope he continues to do better at school and that the atmosphere there doesn't have the opposite effect on him. The rest of the chapter was rather sweet in a quiet way.- 40 comments

The Honeyed Gaze and the Bitter Heart
centexhairysub commented on E K Stokes's story chapter in The Honeyed Gaze and the Bitter Heart
A chapter that started with such promise ended in a disquiet that I still feel even a little after reading it. Much like a pebble dropped in a small pond, this lie and the reasoning behind it, will continue to cause waves long after it is over. -
How utterly delicious on so many levels...

I would like more than a cameo. Alistair was always one of my favorite secondary characters, he wasn't around long but loved that he bridged the gap between Will and Jeremy, managing to be friends with both. Found him to be interesting and always wanted him to show back up, I could really see him being an outstanding addition to this story.

Another delightful look in at a fast-growing family that seems to have their fingers in every pie imaginable. I wish we had a little more on the kids, just get glimpses of their personalities and actions, but would love to get some more. Marc and Adam have their home life down to a science. Amazing how well they manage their time with the kids.

D'Artagnan & Chapter 4 - FIN
centexhairysub commented on RedMoon's story chapter in D'Artagnan & Chapter 4 - FIN
I am just so shocked by this last chapter, I truly never even considered this as a possibility. I knew there was something about Michael, but never could put my finger on it. Well done.... -
Will and Finn have such an interesting relationship. I could actually see them being really good friends that with their partners permission, hook up ever so often for a long time. Finn at least knows where he was infected, if not exactly by who. That can be a big deal for some guys, not ever knowing when or where or who infected them. I do understand Finn not wanting to get so involved with Thor, he still needs to either grow up some more, or kick that closet door open; although with his sports situation I do understand his reluctance to do so at this point in his life. A closet case hook-up party sounds like an intriguing idea, I wonder if it would solve some of Thors issues. Marie and Will have such a great relationship, I am so glad their parents have never been able to come between them. I can’t tell how serious Will is about Chip. And I haven’t been able to get a really good read on Chip either, of course, we have just met him, so there is that. Love how Chip freaked out, like Will just picked this random house to go eat Mexican in, too funny. And you just know there has to be a hell of a good story behind the situation with Dillon Kilpatrick.

Zorro got a lesson in more than one way today. Not sure what the deal with Michael really is, but have to admire him on some level. Klaus is wiser than I thought. And the new name, Railroad, is just about damn near perfect.
