George and Lionel made the trip and found others; unfortunately, they found Mary Louise as well. George is right, neither school nor her parents ever taught Mary Louise manners. Of course, they may have tried, and she might simply be a lost cause. An interesting mix of survivors so far. And honestly, smart way to try and narrow down what happened. All of them had Asthma or something related and most had recently been diagnosed with cancer, wonder if those that were further along were spared as well or only those in the early stages. Honestly, would not trust Mary Louise alone with anyone. Wonder if the next survivor will be tied to the lab. Have to wonder has this spread worldwide?

Love this genre, such a great thrill to read a story that scares and entertains, and some truly great ones on this list.

Saturday, March 1, 2025 (I)

Dustin felt sick but couldn't throw up. Couldn't get fully back to sleep, until much time has passed. Is awaken in a scary way, then a good way, then has to deal with the reality of facing another day. Kellen had a nightmare, Dustin was able to help him deal with it, but why was Kellen so receptive to Dustin calming him down? Dustin could feel something swell within Kellen, he doesn't think it is magic, but I do. A connection that neither was sure was still there sprang forth, they truly enjoyed a few good moments with each other but have to move into the day to deal with the current crisis. Nice to see the two reconnect, even if it doesn't hold, they need to remember what they once meant to each other. Kellen needs to understand why he ran from Dustin, and Dustin needs to figure out why something that happened that long ago, still plays such a big part in his life. -
It must be the mood that I am in today, everything is funny to me. Keiran and Charlie are just going to have to take it on the chin, one way or another. They need to get on with their life and they can't do that until they can stop worrying about what the rest of the family thinks. Of course, that is easier said than done. I believe that Keiran's folks will not put up with anyone coming down on Keiran and Charlie, and I would fully expect Toby to turn into a knight in shining armour. He will not let anyone get negative about either of HIS brothers. Well, dinner will either be joyous or very short.

Oh Lord, this could go wrong in so many ways; but I have decided to sit back, laugh my ass off, and believe that it will work in the end. How is Graham going to get Freddie out of the way? A night out with the hilariously gay uncle? I think it is great that Graham trust Matt enough to have this discussion with him. And his advice was spot on to me. I so enjoy how these two men communicate and just seem to let everything grow organically between them. Bas is not going to be amused. Peter really did listen, and maybe he has a way of looking at the two brothers in a way that they still can't look at each other. He seemed shocked by this but accepted pretty quickly. I would hate for him to give up a job that he truly cares about.

Featured Story: The Roaming Sea by mcarss

Sounds amazing, and makes me want to take off from work and read it now... -
Well, that is one way to keep the paparazzi at bay, simply close the mountain and deny them access. Nice to have friends in high places. LOL Marc and Adam seem to be having a great time, and I do love the fact that Marc was trying to capture so many pictures for his future children and grandchildren. Almost shocked that Marc really can't ski, but I beat money that the next time they are near someplace like this, he will be able to and will be better than average.

George and Lionel are actually doing better than I think I would be. Some of it may well be the fact that what has happened hasn't sunk it fully, but some of it is just their age. The younger you are the easier to adjust to something new, right now some of this is like an adventure, but unsure how long it will remain so for them. Mary Louise is definitely stalker material. While the knife in a tire is a start, I am fairly certain that she will have no compunction about stealing another car, let's hope she heads a different way. She may well be afraid to be alone, but she also wanted someone that she felt she could boss around. So, closer to more people, but is that a good thing? Let's hope so.

Well, that is one way to break the ice; just pretend you have never meet before and start fresh. Not sure it is the best idea; you can't let the past bury itself as it will find a way out and usually at the worst possible moment. There is something about Bayview. Not sure how it will play into to the story, but this place will be important at some point in time. It just keeps popping up way to often. Amazing how easy it can be to fall back into that easy camaraderie that you have with old friends. The secret is that you have to be upfront and honest and that isn't always the easiest thing to do. @weinerdog beat me to it; how much of Tony is you or is he just a passing thought.

Weekly Wrap Up (Apr. 6 - Apr. 12)

Second week in a row knowing all the words of the week. Woo Hoo. Hmmm, well I have been to some truly strange places but usually by design or just total idiocy. -
And still more is about to change

Even with Flavius being sold, this seemed to be a chapter were everyone was on a more even keel. Remy seemed to be calmer, but you can tell the tension is still there. So the Mistress chose not to involve herself in the military, probably a smart move. -
Nice to see another family with so many people that all love and support each other. Not sure I could keep that many people straight so to speak. Buying accounting and law firms are always money makers, people will always need both. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Some much needed alone time; or as alone as these two will probably ever be able to be. Glad that Marc and Adam were able to meet with William and forgive him, put him in the past where he belongs. This place sounds like heaven.

Why is there always a few total psycho's that seem to survive something like this? I mean I know not just the good guys get to survive, but it always seems like part of the survivors are truly the worst people possible to be around. Why did she want the money, she already made a point of everything being free because everyone is dead. I would be more worried about her knowing where one of the kids lived. Wouldn't trust her at all. George and Lionel seem to be handling this better than I would have under the circumstances, of course, they may well be in shock.

OMFG, just when you thought something might calm down; but of course, this is a masterpiece by @Mark Arbour. Brad was stern and authoritative with Derek Greer and explained himself plainly and with emphasis. If they push the idea that everyone that works for the company is protected from harassment, then this might be buzzworthy and get some really good press out of it. I bet butter would not have melted in Brad's mouth. I suspect that with the exception of perhaps JP, Brad is by far the best poker player in this family. Well, now I wish they had kicked Chucky's ass when they saw him at Fuego. Ignoring him obviously set him off, or whomever is paying Chucky needed something to happen, one or the other. Maybe his ventilator will be accidently unplugged? Damn, talk about step up. Jeremy got everything arranged and expedited Will's trip and arrival in the hospital. It was almost like he was channeling Tonto with his notebook and pen. Putting up with Brad and Jake in panic mode may push Jeremy's resolve, but I am betting on him. Will is a good person, he annoys the hell out of me about half the time, but with everything going on; he thought about his date with Finn and realized what a big deal it would be if he ghosted him, even with a good reason. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Well, this was an interesting chapter from start to finish. Toby has worked out that he will have to do more if he wants the career that he thinks is truly interesting at the moment. This might be a push that gets him to take the work more seriously now, always a good thing. And he went to Elise himself to get a jump on it, good for him. The conversations with Deidre were interesting as well, could Jasper be on his way out? And if so would he seek revenge on Toby, could he blame the boy for Deidre moving on? So much going on, can't wait to see what happens next.

Tony has much to think about, not just the news of the possible sale of his novel for another movie; but what that might mean for his life. Does he want to come back to this place, that feels like home to him; or does the bright lights still have some appeal; or could a compromise be made between the two? It is amazing how visiting places that meant so much to you at one time, can often bring that feeling of serenity and calmness. Some places like that allow you to gain a perspective that others can't. Scott seems to think that Aaron will come around, Justin seems a little more cautious. Can't wait to see Ben and Sam, wow, three kids and a pair of twins? Amazing...

Loved them all, but the " Companions " and the " haikus " were truly special.

A wonderful work that looks at why we need all of us and all the creatures around us to make the world what it needs to be. -

Can't wait to get started on them now. -
A lovely poem full of many emotions all out in the open for us all to experience and remember why this touches us all so deeply.

Depending on how many survive, they may need to get out of the populated areas quickly, the bodies will begin to decay, and the smell will be horrible, on top of that, it will begin to attract predators and depending on how adapt the survivors are, that could be more trouble.

Venetia & Charles cordially invite…
centexhairysub commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Venetia & Charles cordially invite…
WOW, poetry and prison reform, what scintillating dinner conversation. Already like Rowena and Felicity both, they would make great friends. Vince is right, it has to be his decision and his timing, but a little suggestion along the way wouldn't kill anyone, would it? Can't wait for Gray and Vince to throw a garden party, definitely do not invite Venetia, and she will be so upset when she hears. Loved it. -
So glad that they were able to adopt both boys. It truly is hard to find good parents for those with any type of disability. Nice that another link was established to Bart's old friend Carlo, another blessing for both families.
