I hope to see this film because it looks amusing so I intend to view it, according to the following link It has been delayed in the USA http://uk.movies.yah...lip-morris.html There is no official reason for the delay but I am guessing the gay storyline has something to do with it which isn't right, I can't see any other reason they would delay its release. I love both actors and I think it will be popular. Do you intend to go watch this film? ( if its released in the USA that is ) or have you watched it? What do you think of it being delayed without any reason in the USA?

I have mixed views on this, I have to say I understand people feeling frustrated that a prom gets more attention than other big issues but then I have to agree that prom can be a big deal and not being able to take your date because they are the same sex is discrimination. I do think the anger needs to be redirected more at the media and not those that are fighting for gay rights, the girl using the media is doing all she can to help fight her case. It is obviously important to her and I have to think a fight for gay rights no matter how small is a worthy fight, and she cannot be blamed for using the media if they are willing to cover the story so much. As someone said if that story was not covered it doesn't mean more important gay issues would be. It would be great if the media covered the important issues but even the smallest of battles can have an effect on things. Fighting discrimination often starts small, with a handful of people refusing to be treated diffrently because of their race, sex, sexual orientation. The big fights help but all the small ones make some difference. I try and see what the girl is doing as a positive thing and wish more in the gay community felt able to stand up for themselves, i think telling them to STFU is sending the wrong message, the gay community have had to live in silence for too long as it is. So we should be showing someone who is so young and able to speak out our support, not trying to silence them because there are enough people that want to do that. As i said aim your anger at the media for deciding to cover this story over others for whatever reason, I am fairly sure the girl and many others would still fight even without the media coverage. I think young gays and lesbians should be give the respect they deserve for standing up for gay rights in various ways, even if its as simple as prom dates. You never know who they will grow up to be and what they will do to support gay rights in the future and it may seem insignificant but this could just be the start. If she listens to the suggestion to STFU then you lose a gay adult with a voice who is not afraid to air her views on gay rights and fight for them. That would be a sad loss. Just worth thinking about.

that is a brave thing to do, I have found that even though i have been out since i was 14 i constantly find mysef in situations of deciding to come out again or just not mention it. It's difficult depending on the people because if you don't tell them instantly there is usuallya reason. But I think your right to be who you are and not worry about people lol poor natey I would add you both only I don't have one as its for chavs

If we are looking at people with more bad than good and people with more good than bad I think it can be more challenging and fun to write oposite to themselves. I think when writers write characters too close to themselves they find it difficult or get bored so they attempt to make them interesting in a way that conflicts with everything we have seen of their personality so far. I think acting is the same, in interviews actors will often say they prefer playing someone completely ulike themselves so they can completely take on that role and become that person so the can react the way the chracter does not the way they would. I think that is what a writer does in a way they take on the character and act them out and when it is someone different they have to follow the thought process of why their character in doing or saying this and is it really them or the character. I just think it makes it more believable and interesting. So on that theory I guess both would find it equally challenging but i don't know if one would be easier, just because someone is 'bad' it doesn't mean they don't know good just like good know bad, its all down to choice so I honestly don't think either would be easier. That said It depends how bad the person is and if they have never known any good then i really think they would struggle to connect to good thoughts and actions and they are probably serial killers in the making. Most people with good thoughts have plenty of bad thoughts and can connect with anger and hate and jealousy but people who have really never known much good will probably not have known real love friendships, honesty, truth, ect ect so how can they ever identify wth it unless they knew it at some point and then they are probably in the first category and mostly bad with some good thoughts.
