I'm in, lets roll. In all honesty I don't think an ammendment to Federal law or the Constitution will do much, if anything. A few words on a peice of paper can't change the way people think and belive. Things like this may not happen as often if some new law were to be passed but the few times it did would be much, much worse then this.

I actually laugh and say thanks when I get called a Queer, (again sorry if I offend), I mean I know I didn't go through what a lot of people went through with the word and it being used in a hurtful way all the time. But when I hear it I just go back to its original meaning, strange or unusual. We're all a bit strange and unusual, gay, straight, bi, or trans, why be ashamed of it. Like you said, it goes back to the individuals experiance.

I guess my answer to this would be pretty subjective, there are a lot of variables. Safety of the location, mindset of the people around us, atmosphere, and of course what my partner thought. But in the ideal situation I don't see hand holding or a kiss as inappropriate, Those couples who walk around practically humping eachother on the street I think could tone it down a bit, I mean there could be children around lol. Mythical creatures, cool. I'm actually something of a Geek on Mythical creatures. For the Human-likes I've got to with Centaurs, Fawns, and Werewolves. Part animal creatures always seemed so powerful, so primal to me; especially the Werewolf. For the Animal-likes the Dragon(I was born in 1988, a Dragon year in Chinesse Zodiac) DEFFINATLY tops list with the Gargoyle and Griffin come in as a close second and third. Best Wishes, NightOwl88

I guess I can consider myself lucky to have not had to deal with the usage o the "F" word as an insult, at least not directed at me. Having said that I don't think it's something that can be generalized as either good or bad. I personally hate word, I've gone as far as to leave the room if the word is brought up, same with the "N" word, and I've told off several people through out the years for using both of them; whether they meant to insult or not. I know gay individuals who use the word as a point of pride, changing the meaning of the word into something postive as a way of saying "Say what you want, do what you want; you can't insult me/hurt me." Then on another spectrum I know straight individuals who use the same word as an insult, not toward a gay person but toward other straight people, the twist is that several of them actually have gay friends. An example is my Mothers, boyfriends, son (yea I know, no jokes), he's 21 and has been staying with us off an on for a few weeks now. One of his favorite *playful* insults towards his friends is to call them a fag *forgive me if it offends you* and they all laugh about it. The thing is though he KNOWS i'm gay, he's even read and reviewed the first chapter of my story here on GA *I was logged in at the time so it looks like I reviewed myself*. He's even called me before from our local (unoffical) gay bar to ask me how to get back to my story cause he found some people who wanted to read it. Now I'm still trying to figure out what he was doing at that bar (bear in mind its not exclusivly gay) but the point is he's never used it on me, or even used it around me. I only know this because of snatches of conversation that I've heard when he's had friends over. I guess the point I'm trying to make here is that yea a vast majority of people still find the word insulting, and it really shouldn't be used frivolously, but I also think that people need to be careful to think how the word is being used in a given situation before they fly off the handle about it. I was surprised by how many Churchs were listed in indiana. Most of them are in the largers Cities like Indy and what not but its not exclusive to them. There is actually one church in Columbus, just a half an hour drive from me, if I attended church that is.

Yes it can be considered a contradiction and in a way I agree with you. The only way I can answer is to put it how it was put to me, look at it as a parent and thier child. Parent has child. They teach and raise that child to be their own person. They offer guidance and try to teach them to have good morals but in the end it is the Child who makes their own way and decide what they are going to do and to be. Similerly why would a God/Goddess/Creative Power create a multitude of distinct and different indivduals with the capacity for self realization and awareness to only control there every move or thought. I agree that there have been numerous atrocities commited in the name of Gods or religions all over the world and through out history. But it is the Human who uses the name of the God or Religion to further their own agenda. For man to be truely aware then the God/Goddess/Creative Force cannot be all controling or their would be no point to creation or sentience. Best Wishes NightOwl

In reality I don't really have much more to add here then what hasn't already been said I suppose. I was babtized as a Catholic when I was young in accordance to my paternal grandfathers last wish but I was never confirmed and have only rarely set foot in my local Catholic church. I went to the local Nazarene chruch most of my child hood with my maternal Grandmother and I admit I was a good little church boy. There was a time when I considered becoming a Priest and spending my life preaching the *Good word*. I'm glad I grew out of it lol. Due to location issues i stopped going to church when I was about 14 and that gave me some real time to think and find myself. I embraced my sexuality and began to explore my interests in the Occult and Mythology at a deeper level. I imerged a Gay Wiccan some two years later and continue to grow. I continue to use the term Wiccan to describe myself but I'm more of a spiritualist with Wicca as my base. I like to study and learn all religious practices. I'm actually begining to look into Celtic and Native American Shamanism. I may be shot for what I am about to say but I don't have a problem with the Christian religion. I have a problem with the people who have twisted and distorted its truth and reality. I have met and count as a friends some very beautiful Christian people, one very nice Christian man; who did not even know my name, said a prayer with me asking that my family be able to accept my homosexuality before I came out of the closet, (its a long story but I'll tell it if anyone whats to hear lol). I guess what I am saying is don't hate the Religion for its *followers*. In my opinion they shouldn't be alowed to call themselves followers if they hate and discriminate, Jesus welcomed all into his congregation, theives, whores, liers and beggers.
