Won't Yuri and Benny ever get any peace just to live and love together??? Ok, I trust you, Cia, to get them to a better place, but it did not lessen my frustration today -- perhaps because I've been dealing with immigrants and their challenges to build their lives together with their loved ones in a (relatively) safe place. It does seem like Velaku's Falcons keep missing pieces, but agree with Cannd: would they really go out alone? Thanks for your story, Cia, topped off with an adrenaline rush to start the day!

Glad that Jonas (and we readers) are finally learning a bit more about what is going on. Like Jonas I don't mind just living the story but the movement in this chapter was well-timed and much appreciated. What a wonderful spirit Jonas has! What a treat to end the day, Cia! I love the detailed characters of your longer stories, but these 3 just seem to click with me (and clearly lots of others!). I am fascinated by how naive and relatively conservative Miah seems to be while so readily absorbing all the changes to his life and world view brought by these 2 shifters, who may yet become his life partners (mates? who knows with alien shifters...). I, too, look forward to the fall anthology -- but not enough to wish for summer to speed by more quickly.

Hmmm... so did Michael indeed run down to Asher but his parents wanted to spare him more pain, or was it just his imagination? I do believe that Asher still loves Michael as much as he loves Asher, but oh what a denouement. I also second the question: was it just her conscience or was a little help from Michael's funds (or maybe Ziggy's prowess) needed to grease those wheels of conscience? Very interesting about mixing the Solaris and Lupus/Lunais. I especially liked the Solaris coming from Bast, and of course the characters themselves: our hero, his boyfriend, his son, and all the rest of the extended family. I am very glad that there is a book 2 coming as there are so many questions to answer and threads to finish weaving. One suggestion: after Dylan first changes and then wakes up, they are talking amongst themselves before he changes back to human. That section was rather confusing because of earlier indications that speech was limited in their animal forms (other than the individual animal languages). Also, he asks for pants to cover his "naughty bits", which made it seem like he had already changed back. There are several ways I could imagine clarifying, but I leave that to the real author. I liked how Damien's defense against lusting for Dallas prevented him from seeing any of good. Seems like both of them down deep are not what they are presenting to the world. May they find their centers as they share their journey. Cheers!

What an incredible chapter to an already amazing story -- in so many ways! I love the concept of Charrindas. Clearly Lexi and Robin epitomize that concept. How sad that they never got to share more than that one kiss, and yet in that one kiss their bond blossomed to a level that few will ever experience. It will be interesting to see what the unicorn and the dragon sense from Raven, the evil bard, considering what they sense from Frederick. It will also be curious to see what happens with the Black Elves: does their failure break the contract or will they keep coming. ...and somehow I don't think we've seen the last of Minah although training the sonomagi who is also a dragon seems like it could prove exceptional even to an elf of his years. I didn't see the conflict with buying the pendant as inconsistent with buying the iPhone. Buying the iPhone actually facilitated what they had to do to switch identities: it enabled them to keep in touch AND they didn't have to worry about yet another thing each time they switched. (I do see it as a bit of a problem with how they explain "Jacob's" new iPhone, however.) More importantly is that the iPhone was done much more to accomplish a goal, not to share an emotion. The emotional context is what I interpreted was the "Is it too gay?" response. Just my personal musings... Now for the weekend: that is going to take some managing if they are to keep their "twin-ness" secret!

I don't know the Avatar cartoons but am fascinated how you blend concepts of earth, water, and fire magic with the concepts of chi and moves of martial arts. I hope to read more of this universe! John

Glorious! Captivating!! Emotionally intense, and oh so right in how Kurt & Tahryn have fully consummated their mating and the creation of their new pack!!! Reading it on the train as the sun rises on a cold but equally glorious day in the northeast made the day and the story come together in a symphony of the sun, sand, and spring wildness that is Tahryn & Kurt at their finest. I, too, am glad that Buzz took off -- and am equally worried about him making it to Jed and the Timber Wolf Pack. What happens then will likely be messy when Derek and his pack come after Buzz, but this young pack has survived and prospered through a lot already so I'm giving them way better than even odds. First, Buzz had to leave, and now it has happened. I disagree, however, that Buzz's actions so far have been from cowardice. When you grow up with everyone around you saying one thing (gay is bad, other religions are bad, other races or cultures are bad, no such thing as true mates much less same-sex mates, etc.), it is hard to fight against those "truths" even when you encounter other views or experience something that says that early information is wrong. For those of us growing up in the 50's and 60's especially in a small town or very conservative part of the world, it took a very unusal person and/or a lot of time to accept gay as ok much less good. Even "Aunty" did not really help in that regard except to warn him against ignoring Fate. So, good luck on your trip Buzz. Good luck Jed and Zef on the garage -- and maybe Zef will also join Timber Wolf Pack!

What a chapter! We learned things, lost things, and got some intriguing hints of things to come. The emotional devastation of Mary's death following Yulva's birth -- and as a wolf -- was powerful enough that I had to quit reading for awhile. I really had thought Mary was going to be part of Kurt's moving forward. I guess she likely will though indirectly through Yulva. For once I'm almost glad there is a break before the next chapter: it will give me time to ponder and to mourn. Thanks Sasha!

Whoa... those were some fast twists & turns! Surely Toshiro and Jason are not so quickly made history. Part of me wants to smack Toshiro for not staying -- at least verbally, after all he is still hurt; the other part applauds his desire not to bring something nasty into this small town and to Jason, in particular. Clearly there is something that has to be resolved with Kaito & Co. Hope it includes something painfully appropriate for Kaito. Thanks, Sui! John

The characters are fleshing out now, and the families (biological and chosen) seem to be a great fit. Still some work, I suspect, to get Gavin through the bear side of Tate. Looking forward to learning more.

In some stories, the constantly shifting flow that bounces from one situation to another seemingly unrelated situation -- and the insights that accompany them -- would be terribly distracting and possibly make it unreadable for me. Somehow it works in your story as you stitch together these moments from the past with moments in the present. Small, individual insights become bigger, deeper insights as they coalesce. Thank you, Kevin, for sharing such a memorable story!

I'm glad that they were not kicked out, but something is coming... and Kurt at least senses it -- as does Degan, I think. I keep wondering if there could be a joint "alphaship" somewhere: Kurt Alpha as wolf and Tay Alpha as human. They would be awesome, but it would certainly be stretching the borders of a relatively conservative (in terms of change) society.

Although I want to know more NOW, I really admire the languid start to Book 2. Much like Book 1, it really does (as another reviewer said) give you a chance to build the images of your characters, both physically and psychologically. I'm guessing, however, that life will start to heat up as the conclave starts in earnest. I do worry about the abuse that Parker may take -- and with him, the rest of the pack. They are all extremely intelligent and capable, but they are also young and hence lack some of the experience of the older packs and pack leaders. I have faith in them, however, and I suspect that Parker may both catalyze some of the action with Bradley/Buzz (I hate to agree with that b**ch Shauna, but I do prefer Bradley as well; of course there is a ring to Jed & Buzz) and become part of his support and salvation. After all, we know that Parker may be submissive, but he still has some serious cojones. One minor detail that seems at odds with the past information: there is a comment about Jed and Trey sharing a bed often when they were pups, but I thought I remembered that Trey had also been a relatively new member of their old pack. Perhaps I am mixing it up with other info, and anyway it is not significant to the story. Thanks, Rob, for more fun reading!
