I LOVE 'The Dark Is Rising'. My favourite is The Grey King, for reasons that will become obvious if you read it Oh, and you could always try writing fan fiction to extend the story.

Oh wow. A beautiful date with two beautiful 'real' people beginning to realx and get to know each other, finally beginning to built a relationship, whatever that might turn out to be. Action, adventure, romance this chapter has it all... and then a mystery at the end. Plenty for us to chew over and think about until the next chapter. There's a reason I like this story so much.

Sigh. Beautiful, just beautiful. It was a long time coming but so worth it. Poor Haze; he's more screwed up than Blake and fancy Blake coming on all calm and therapeutic. Awesome.

Awwww. That is just SO beautiful. I adore Kaleb. His confrontations with his mother are priceless and i'm really glad that Horace is standing up for him. Beautiful, fluid, sensitive writing. I love it

That was SUCH a sweet chapter. Bittersweet at the end. THat last image of Kaleb watching Chase drive away is just so sad.

Each of your Carthera stories are very distinct. This one feels different from the start. I love snakes too. I really like the fact that you haven't described either of them. We don't even have the name of the primary character which is aweseome. Wicked writing babe and what feels like a fab story

Thank you for your very thorough and thoughtful review. I think that Daddydavek proves the point that reading is highly subjective. There was a very sudden change and I can see how it might be seen as improbable although to my mind it was almost inevitable that Valentine was going to seek revenge on Glory and that selling him to the circus would be exactly what he would think of. I can't recall off the top of my head but I think there is at least a brief discussion as to how long Glory has been in captivity. As you can imagine it will have been sometime because it would have taken time for Sar to track down the circus. I'm really glad you are enjoying the story so far and I hope you will enjoy the last few chapters too, because there is a sequel hard on its heels.

Valid point. I really liked this chapter and it was fun to write. This is me I take it on the chin though as I do appreciate it was an abrupt about turn. I had kind of set up the whole Circus thing though with the dunner. I hope you like the way it turns out. You do appreciate that Sar wasn't there right? He ran away again.

I agree with what has been said above. The rule has to be First Be Safe. I would strongly recommend that you watch some 'it gets better' vids on YouTube, they show you that, no matter how bad it is, how hard to hide who you truly are, there will come a time when you won't have to. Everything changes, the good and the bad, it may be that you have no choices now but your situation will change, maybe sooner than you think, and your choices will change.
