  1. It's pretty difficult to discuss something without spoilers.... I mean how can you discuss something without discussing it. I'm with you.
  2. Dont forget that in 1918 many people were malnourished, TB was rife leaving those who survivied with lung weaknesses, housing was overcrowding with poor sanitation, many people, even the wealthier ones suffered from poor nutrition and many young men coming back from the war had lung conditions from being gassed. Children often didn't survive past five, and those who did worked down mines, in cotton mills etc and had weakened lungs. It was a very different time. Humankind have an uncanny knack of adapting and coping. We survived the 1918 outbreak and we will survive the 2009 one... if it comes. I refuse to live my life in fear of what might happen. For me the worst already has and I go on savouring every moment, living for today to the fullest extent possible for as long as I can.
  3. I think there is a difference in saying that you have no problem with a religious ideology and in saying you have no problem with that religion's god or view of god. Much of the spirituality expressed by the early Christians was sound but it was twisted and perverted by those who practiced it. Even now there is a lot of good in the theology but again it's what people do in it. It isn't so much a matter of judging a god by his followers it's about judging the words that someone speaks as opposed to what people then do with them. How many times have sound philosophies, theories etc failed to work in practice when corruption creeps in to those who practice them... for example communism which as an ideal is sound as a practice is too open to corruption, even democracy only truly works when everyone is on the same page. Okay bad definitions. I know what I mean but I am tired and I doubt I am making much sense so I will stop there and come back to it when my brain switches on
  4. The question I would like an answer to is.... who's true? Is it something about her perfume? Where can I get some? ;p Don't give me half a chance that's all I can say... on your own head be it if you do
  5. Everyone dies of something, it's the only sure thing in this life.... well that and that you have to eat, drink, breathe etc. There is no point in panicing, what good will it do, it will just make what life we all have left miserable. Prepare for the worst and it just might happen, hope for the best and at least you have a time of peace. ANd Rilbur... who said I was roleplaying the evil card Bring it on. This is the real world where evil gets to win.
  6. I have to say I agree entirely... it is not the religion it's the followers. Celtic Chrisitanity... propounded by the early saints was a gentle and encompassing religion and managed perfectly well to co exist side by side with the pagan beliefs of the time, eventually absorbing many of them. I have no problem with the teachings only what was and is being done with them and in their name.
  7. Organisation? No one has ever accused me of being organised. Organised chaos perhaps. There are no minions in my order... all are equal... except that some are more equal than others. Gird your loins, Sir Chase, grab a sword and venture forth... oh watch the horse shit on your way it tends to burn through metal if you get it on your armour. You can keep what honour, glory, lands and position you grab for yourself on the way... with a teeny tiny Neph tax of course. I am an EVIL queen after all
  8. Sadness.
  9. There are four horsemen of the Apocalypse... but what they don't tell you is about the women riding behind in the chariot... just to make sure the horsemen are wearing their scarves, take proper breaks to eat and don't look too long at any other woman OR ELSE. Personally I have my arms wrapped around Famine because he's so skinny there's most room on his horse. I'm going to seduce the antichrist, enslave him with my sexual expertise and pervert evil from the inside. I WILL RULE THE WORLD. But don't worry, I will be a dark queen... all will love me.. and dispair. Unless you've given me a good review in which case you get a get out of hell free card
  10. Classic advice to ANYONE who is contemplating ANYTHING to do with sex... if it doesnt feel right DON'T DO IT. If you have to ask the question DON'T DO IT. If you feel bad about it DON'T DO IT. If it doesn't excite you and inflame you and make you feel like king/queen of the world DON'T DO IT.
  11. I have provided them with the information that has been posted and I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart. At the moment they are taking time to sift through what they have and to calm down and make the most of the short reprieve they have been given to try and find proper help to get on their feet. I will let you know how it goes, if I can Again thank you all. I knew you would come through.
  12. sometimes lonely is best... or at least better than angry, frustrated, repressed, hurt, used, disrespected.... well you get the idea. And once you get away from all that negativity you will blossom and attract new friends.
  13. don't encourage me, I'm not safe
  14. Of course it's true. Welcome to the site and I hope to be reading one of your stories very soon. In the meantime dive into some posts so we can get to know you better. XXX
  15. Thank you so much people. I have given all of your comments to my friend and they would both like me to convey their thanks. I told them you were all great, now they believe me
  16. Your poetry and your art are equally beautiful
  17. I'm afraid I don't know. I know them both through a forum I admin and I continually encourage the young people on there not to give out personal information so I felt a little hypocritical asking where they were. I figured Texas was a start.
  18. Thanks James. As I said to you in the pm I can't swear this is not a scam because I don't know the person involved personally and only through an internet assocition. However, the circumstances in which I was told of this hold water for me. All I am looking for is information, places that he can go for help and advise.
  19. I have been asked for help by a young friend in Texas. He has been made unexpectedly homeless. Neither his, not his partner's family will help, both have turned him away. None of his friends have been able to help and the homelessness shelters are too full to be of any assistance at all. I feel completely helpless. I know nothing of how things work over there and I am too far away to be of any help at all. he is 20 so children's services can't be of any assistance. Does anyone have any information that might help?
  20. Yay... a fellow Celt. I know what you mean about the pretentious twits out there, I have met a fair few of them which is why I pretty much walk my own path these days. If you are interested in modern day Celtic Paganism there is some good stuff out there on Celtic Wicca and, of course Druidry is an option. I found that some of the Druid orders, especially the more esoteric ones are... heavier than the fluffy bunny paganism I come across in other areas and not so dogmatic as Wicca
  21. First, there is a huge difference between religion and spirituality. My definition of religion is the method by which spirituality is expressed and, as such I have my doubts about whether many branches of so called organised religion are, in fact religions or religious at all. That being said there is absolutely no reason why someone who is gay cannot also be religious. If you start to carefully studdy the bible and the way in which people interperate it then it is quite clear that there is no reason whatever why the Christianity and homosexuality have to be mutually exclusive. The bible is not an instruction manual, it is a guide.... after all we don't stone adulterouses and.... the very same book and arguments were used to justify the burning of witches at one point (thou shalt not suffer a witch to live) and there are few who admit to ascribing to that philosophy any more. As Chase has succinctly put it before me... my religion is ME in that I am the means by which my spirituality is expressed. I do not need a church, a priest or a label to be the means by which I connect with my own personal interpretation of God, Life, Spirituality, whateever... I am perfectly capable of connecting to the modem myself.
  22. I totally agree... but maybe we should stop talking about him now ... he is only going to get even more conceited
  23. Welcome. This is a truly awesome place. I hope you have a great time but a warning... be careful it gets addictive
  24. Forbidden fruit my dear, forbidden fruit.... is that not always the sweetest.
  25. Looking at this thread is bad for me you know
