Being the oldest and growing up in a large family can be hard, especially when you are gay and the family is extremely homophobic. You are constantly being compared to your deceased father. A man whose stature and deeds are always increasing, as time goes by, and are held up as your goals. Anytime you reach those goals, your mother moves the goalpost further away.

You never seem to measure up. You are always being told that you are worthless and will never amount to anything since you cannot measure up to your father. It never mattered that you were a straight "A" student and that you were an athlete.

And that applies to life and to love, as thirteen year old friends, Christian Miller and Jeremy Hutton are about to discover.

Book Two of The Last Statue follows on from Heart of Black Ice Bay and traces the lives of five new characters across roughly similar timelines.

The continuing story of Andrew and Ryan Devlin-Major. The tale picks up five years after the end of 'Never walk alone'

This is a continuation, roughly fourteen years later, of my previous story, 'My Friend and Protector' (https://gayauthors.org/story/lee-wilson/my-friend-and-protector/).

Carlo no longer needs Karl as his protector, but as a result of something related to his psychiatric practice, he needs his husband Brandon more than ever. I don't believe needing to read that first is a requirement to enjoy this one.

Dante Arturo is a bloodborn warlock, his power born of fire. He has one problem. He has never fallen in love, and has decided he does not have the luck to fall in love. Until he meets Tani Ryuzo. A powerful being who makes him wish for a thousand years of love. But Tani is ready to give up on love, after all he has waited a thousand years for his beloved and only gotten betrayal in return.

Owain returns to live in his home town, 20 years after leaving when he was disowned his parents for being gay. He needs to rebuild his life following illness and come to terms with his messy family history. There is much to learn and discover, along the way he meets Colin, a builder who has his own family issues. The two explore how to make a life the way that they want, irrespective of the weight of their family experiences.

The story takes place in Cheshire, UK. The main setting, Netherwich, is my invention based on elements of Crewe and Nantwich. The language uses some regional idiom.
