The Hidden Ones: Resurrection - 41. A Hard Day's Night

---Ryder---

There are a lot of memories I hate from this band. From starting as a heartbroken teenager, to becoming the reckless drug addict I was. But for every memory I hate, there are two more that I love. I don’t talk about them often, and I try my hardest to keep it all off my mind. But the truth is I love Messiah with everything I have. It may feel like a deal with the devil. It may feel like it costs me my life. But on days like today, well, that trade feels worth it.

“Sullivan on his fourth song of the day!” Joe teased with a laugh. “What have you gotten done Brandon?”

“Don’t worry about what I’ve done.” Brandon defended. “What do you have done?”

“Whole lotta nothing.” Zach jumped in. “Ryder’s just going to rewrite whatever anyone else writes anyway.”

“That doesn’t mean don’t write.” I groaned as they broke my concentration. “Come on guys, I can’t do this all on my own. You could at least start recording something.”

“Batman and Robin have been hogging the booth the whole time.” Brandon shrugged. “They’re not even recording, they’re just, talking.”

“They’re probably writing.” I sighed, walking up to the console and hitting a button. “How much have you two written?” I asked into the small microphone.

“Worry about yourself!” Oli yelled back before Tommy could say anything.

“So nothing?” I sighed.

“We’re drummers, what the hell do you want from us?!” Tommy shouted as he turned towards the window.

“Come out here.” I demanded, starting to get fed up. “Guys!” I shouted as the door opened. “It’s been seven fucking hours, and not one of you have any god damn songs?!”

“We have one.” Tommy interjected. “You just assume the worst because you’re,”

“Save the fights for recording.” Brandon exhaled.

“Just one?” I continued, ignoring Brandon’s advice. “This is fucking pathetic.”

“I have one too.” Joe shrugged. “But it takes us time to perfect it enough to show you. Calm down, we’ll get it done man.”

“We’ve been around thirteen fucking years!” I shouted, as anger started to spread. “We’re a multi-platinum band, and you guys can’t finish one song in seven hours? Has anyone even written any music?”

“We have riffs.” Zach shrugged, keeping his eyes down.

“So that’s it then? This last album is just reusing shit we cut from the last albums?” I asked, balling a fist. “Think again!” I shouted, finally snapping and throwing down a podium. “If anyone here actually gives a fuck, now’s the time to show it.”

“Whoever had Ryder tantrum on the first day, you won the money pool.” Tommy teased, drawing some laughs from the guys.

“Is it always like this?” Oliver asked, finally speaking up.

“Every recording session.” Brandon sighed. “Ryder writes most of the albums, then we offer songs, he fixes them and we move on.”

“With about twenty of his tantrums sprinkled in!” Joe cackled.

“I’m so close to punching you in your smug fucking,”

“Dude.” Tommy interrupted. “It’s the first day, take a breath. You’ll have your chance to hit him soon enough.”

“This is pathetic.” Oliver supported, taking a long look at the room. “This is, it’s so disappointing.”

“Hey!” Brandon defended. “You’ve written one hit, I’ve written,”

“I’m thirteen!” Oliver interrupted in a yelp. “How many did you write when you were thirteen?”

“Damn” Zach laughed, looking from Oli to Brandon.

“And how many have you ever written Zach?” Oli asked, backing up my outburst. “God! I can’t believe I thought you were the best band of your generation! All Tommy does is smoke his vape and bitch about everyone. Brandon sits there talking all day! And Zack and Joe they just, they, they fondle each other the whole time!”

“Tommy!” I shouted as I heard Oliver’s choice of words.

“At least he used it right.” He shrugged in a laugh. “Like he didn’t know the word anyway.”

“I’m being serious.” Oliver exhaled. “All of you are such let downs that it hurts. If any of your fans saw this, you guys would be playing an empty stadium next month. Come on Tommy. Let’s go finish up our song then write another.”

“Lucky me.” He exhaled.

“Well if we weren’t sure he was another Ryder,” Joe began, but stopped as he saw Zach’s stare. “What’s wrong? I didn’t fondle you enough today?”

“Shut the fuck up and write.” Zach sighed as everything finally clicked in his head. “What the hell happened to us man? We used to be such amazing guitarists.”

“You got complacent.” I sighed. “You let the lyrics do the carrying.”

“Shut up.” Joe forced out, turning to me. “I didn’t get anything. I’m still the best guitarist alive.”

“Show it.” I shrugged, picking up the podium I was working on and throwing him a pen. “Start writing riffs and solos.”

“I will.” He shrugged, as he and Joe finally picked up guitars for the first time all day.

I finally let out a sigh and relaxed as the wakeup call rang through the studio. I don’t know if it was my shouting, or Oliver’s disappointment, but they finally look like they care again! It finally feels like we’re back in our early twenties! Whether it was the bass coming alive, or the dynamic solo’s Joe and Zach were working on, things just felt, fun. Soon enough the tension faded and jokes began to sound around the small room.

*************************************************************************************

“Sorry ma’am, the girl scouts are the building over.” Joe couldn’t help but tease as Mrs. Haner opened the door.

Their smiles faded as she stepped into the room. “Can I help you?” Zach offered with a cautious stare.

“That’s Oliver’s mom.” Brandon sighed. “You met her the other night.”

“It was dark.” They both shrugged.

“So do you each contribute half a brain, or do you use Zach’s sometimes and Joe’s the other?” Brandon asked as they began to get distracted.

“Where is he?” She asked with a straight face.

“Working in the booth.” I shrugged. “But he’s on a roll right now so,”

“Do not push your luck Ryder.” She warned in a serious tone.

“Ohh!” The three others in the room shouted as they saw me back down.

“You three too.” She scolded. “Did anyone even feed him?!”

“We got Burger King like an hour ago.” Brandon shrugged.

She let out an angry laugh as she tried her hardest not to start screaming. “Angry mom on deck! Angry mom on deck!” Zach shouted into the recording booth. “This is not a drill. I repeat this is not a drill. There is one pissed off,”

“Dude.” Brandon reprimanded knocking his hand off the button.

“What’s up?” A beaten and exhausted Oliver asked, poking his head out of the smaller room.

“What’s up?” His mother repeated in a laugh. “What’s up? You haven’t even started your homework!”

“I didn’t finish school today, I don’t have homework.” Oliver shrugged.

“Mark dropped it off, who by the way, was asking about you.” Mrs. Haner explained. “Which you would know if either you or Ryder checked your phone.”

“We’re in the studio we don’t have,”

“Wait outside.” She demanded, he went to fight her but as their eyes connected he quickly followed instructions.

“Ey!” Tommy yelled, quickly running out of the booth. “I need him!”

“Excuse me?” Mrs. Haner asked, beginning to stare him down.

“I need him.” Tommy repeated. “Do you even know who I am?”

“Give it a fucking rest!” Joe yelped, falling into his seat. “It’s not even funny anymore!”

“Do you know who I am?” She asked in a strict voice. “I’m Oliver’s mother. And if the filthy language, poor eating habits, and blatantly irresponsible behavior doesn’t stop, he’s no longer coming here.”

“Give me a fucking break, we’re a,” Tommy began but the second their eyes connected he froze.

“Ryder’s told me you’re a sick man.” Mrs. Haner warned. “So I’ll go easy on you, but I swear to god, if my son learned even one curse word from you, I’ll end you before anything else has the chance to.” Joe let out a giggle but as she turned to him he grew quiet. “I’m not a fan of you either.”

“Sorry,” I began, trying to attract her gaze. “We just lost track of time, but I promise this has been good for him. He’s spent all day working and writing and hasn’t complained once.”

“He’s right.” Tommy nodded. “I forgot he’s thirteen he acts so mature. He’s obsessed. I’m pretty sure he’d do this all night if we’d let him.”

“Well at some point one of you has to be the adult and stop him.” She explained. “You can’t let a kid work all day, it’s not healthy. Are you trying to kill him?”

“No I just,”

“You just what Ryder?” She asked in an agitated tone. “Gave him bad advice then had him work all day?”

“I’m sorry, you know I won’t let anything bad happen to him.” I tried to apologize. “And the superintendent told me to keep him out of school tomorrow while they figure out what to do with that principal.”

“You called the superintendent?” Mrs. Haner repeated in shock. “Do you have any idea what a target you just put,”

“I didn’t.” I interrupted. “I get I fucked up today, but I swear to you I didn’t put Oliver at risk. I promised if they got her out and replaced her with a competent person I would publically praise the school.”

“How much pride did you have to swallow to promise that?” Brandon supported, disguised in a tease.

“A fucking lot.” I stood up and walked closer to Mrs. Haner. “Let’s go talk outside.”

“Fine.” She sighed, leading me out to the hallway where a young tired teen awaited.

“I’m fine with you putting a curfew on him. It makes sense and I respect it.” I began. “But for the record I’m not running a child-labor camp here. I’m just letting him pursue what he loves in a safe environment.”

“You call that safe?” She began.

“What was unsafe about it?” I asked. “The language isn’t perfect, and maybe we don’t eat healthy. But I made sure there were no drugs or alcohol. I made sure there was no possible way he could get hurt. I made sure the guys liked him.”

“The long hours are what’s unsafe.” She sighed. “When’s the last time you took a break?” She asked, turning towards Oliver.

“I don’t need one.” He shrugged, trying his hardest to look awake. “Me and Tommy messed around most of the time anyway. This isn’t some big labor intensive thing. I spent most of today laughing and playing the drums! I-I love every second of this, and you just, you just came in and embarrassed me!”

“It’s supposed to be labor intensive.” I sighed with a roll of my eyes.

“Well it’s not.” Oli defended. “For the first time in my life, I-I enjoy how I’m spending my day. I enjoy doing work. I enjoy trying to be responsible.”

“Don’t you turn me into the bad guy.” His mom warned as their eyes connected. “Especially not when I have Aaron Fuller calling me about his daughter’s detention.”

“What’d he say?” Oli gulped as he swayed his lips.

“He wanted to know if he should expect her to get more of them.” She sighed. “That’s mortifying!”

“Okay, but was he mad?” Oli asked as she hesitated. “So he wasn’t?”

“No, but that’s beside the point!” She yelped. “It’s just embarrassing that he sees you as the trouble maker of the class!”

“Well that’s me.” Oli grunted. “So thanks for being embarrassed!”

“I think people are tired and we should,” I began but Oli opened his mouth before I could finish.

“How could you do this to me?” Oli asked. “You embarrass me in front of the band! You embarrass me in front of my new friend’s dad! You treat Ryder like he’s a kid again! You,”

“Hey!” I interrupted in a shout. “Don’t yell at your mom like that!” I scolded him. “She’s worried about you man, and she wants you to be okay. She can treat me however she wants if it means helping you.”

“Sorry,” He grunted, looking down. “I just, I don’t see the harm in me working hard. You guys always yell at me to mature, but you’re not giving me the chance!”

She let out a deep sigh and looked over to me. “He has a point.”

“Fine.” She conceded. “But you’re done for today, and from now on your curfew is seven at night.”

“Okay.” He agreed in a nod. “But since I’m not going to school tomorrow, I-I’m coming here and working.”

“Okay, but I’m packing you both lunch and dropping you both off dinner, and you both are going to eat it.” She warned as her stern gaze reemerged. “And seven on the dot you are to be ready with homework already done.”

“Okay.” I nodded, giving Oli a nudge.

“Fine.” He sighed. “Come on Ryder, let’s go home.”

“I’m not leaving.” I shook my head. “I’ll get one of the guys to drop me off at home.”

“Are you sure?” Mrs. Haner sighed.

“Positive.” I nodded. “This is my job, and I, I can’t just leave it when it’s busy.”

“Teddy’s going to kill you.” Oli groaned.

“He’s working late anyway. Apparently these two are as obsessed with work as they are each other.” She teased causing Oli to laugh. “No go wait in the car.” She instructed, tossing him keys.

“But,” He began, yet the second he saw her stare began walking.

“I’m sorry.” I said as he left hearing range. “I didn’t mean for any,”

“It’s fine.” She interrupted. “Harry told me about what you did today, and how you stood up for him. I just, I need you to be what you’re promising to both my sons.”

“Why wouldn’t I be?” I asked, giving her a cautious look.

“Because now you’re back with the guys and I, I see you love it.” She confessed. “But you, you can’t fall back into this life. You can’t go out drinking with them or,”

“So that’s what this is about?” I asked in a sigh. “You’re worried we’ll start drinking with Oli around?”

“With him around, without him around, that doesn’t matter.” She explained. “I’m just, I’m worried about the long hours on you both. You’re not exactly healthy.”

“I’ll be okay.” I nodded. “I go to both mental health and physical therapy at the hospital. And I, I’m finally one and a half months sober. I’m not going to fuck this up for myself or anyone else.”

“I really hope not.” She shook her head. “Come straight home from recording, okay?”

“Yeah.” I sighed as though I was a child.

“And no more of that Mrs. Haner B.S., it’s Jill or mom.” She warned turning around and walking out the door.

I get it. I get her concerns about me and Oli. But I’m a different person than I was a few months ago. I learned from my addictions, and I’m growing. And Oli, he’s right. We need to give him this chance to grow. We need to let him spread his wings and try taking off. Maybe I need to start doing a better job of making sure he’s safe and happy, but this is good for him. I know it is.

"Grim reaper steal the boy?” Tommy asked shooting me a disappointed look.

“That’s my soon to be mother-in-law man.” I answered, freaking even myself out with the words.

“Whatever you say.” He shrugged, heading back to the booth. “He’s coming back tomorrow, right?”

“Awww, Tommy has a new friend.” Zach cackled. “Our baby boy is finally growing up.”

“Go blow Joe.” He dismissed with a wave of his hand.

***********************************************************************************

The next few hours in the studio seemed to fly by. I’m not sure how much work actually got done, but for the first time in a long time I have faith in this band. I believe what we’re building and I-I’m excited.

“So you sure you want to be dropped off on the way to the bar?” Brandon asked in front of the whole room.

“You can come.” Zach shrugged. “You don’t even have to drink, you can just get wings or something.”

“Come on man.” Tommy tried to encourage. “Even I’m going, and I have cancer treatment in the morning.”

“Yeah but,”

“But what, you’re not mature enough to be around alcohol?” Joe sighed. “Gotta rip off the Band-Aid eventually.”

Brandon nodded his head in support of his words. “If you don’t like it I’ll take you home.”

“Fine.” I conceded, knowing it wasn’t worth the battle. “I’ll come.”

“Eyyy!” Zach shouted. “We finally get to party with Ryder Sullivan again!”

“Remember Miami?” Joe tempted.

“Remember the cocaine?” Zach corrected in a laugh. “They sure as hell make some pure stuff.”

I sighed as I recalled the real reason I had to end messiah. The drugs, the alcohol, the partying. It would’ve never ended. As much as my story is complete, well maybe it would have a little more if this band didn’t lead me straight into hell.

“I’m serious about hiding that stuff from Oli.” I warned. “I don’t care who you are, if he sees it, you’re out of the band.”

“Okay, come on,”

“I’m not kidding.” I growled. “So try and test me on that. Because if I walk, this all ends.”

“Okay, okay.” Joe quickly backed down. “I get it. But for tonight! Partay!”

I rolled my eyes but before I knew it there I was, in the booth of a bar waiting for wings. Joe and Zach had snuck off do to their normal lines of coke in the bathroom as Brandon and Joe brought over girls and shots. Did it always look this pathetic when we partied? It felt like we were the kings of the world, but now that I’m sober, well I see how old and sad we look.

“Want one?” Brandon tempted pushing a small glass of clear liquid in front of me.

“Nah.” I gulped, looking away and forcing it forward. I could feel my stomach begin to churn as my fingers tapped the table. “You got a cigarette?”

“Yeah.” Brandon nodded handing me a long white stick and lighter. “You okay?”

“Just fine.” I grunted, forcing my way out of the booth.

“You shouldn’t smoke cigarettes you know?” Tommy teased. “That shit will give you cancer.”

“And weed smoke didn’t?” Brandon rolled his eyes. “Who knows, maybe being high twenty-four seven isn’t,”

Their words droned off as I forced my way out. I let out heavy breaths as I quickly lit the cigarette. I pulled the smoke in and let it out in a desperate effort to relax. I can’t go back in there, if-if I do, I- I’ll do something I regret.

I took another hit before quickly texting Teddy to come get me. I found myself constantly balling my fist and letting it go as I tried my hardest to distract my mind. It wants alcohol. It wants the drugs. No matter what I do, it always will.

“Sure you’re okay?” Brandon asked, joining me for a smoke.

“No.” I admitted in a sigh. “I-I really can’t be around alcohol man.”

“You’ve said this before.” Brandon rolled his eyes. “Just, drink responsibly.”

“I can’t.” I warned him. “I don’t get what part of addict you don’t understand, but I, I really struggle with that.”

“But you’re not actually addicted,”

“I tried to kill myself Brandon.” I snapped. “Holy shit I-I tried to kill myself.” I exhaled in a broke breath. “What was I thinking coming here?”

“You wanted to be a part of the band.” He shrugged. “And we, we were more than happy to let you start drinking again.”

“This can’t happen.” I confessed in a low voice. “I can’t go on like this.”

“Okay.” Brandon accepted in a sigh. Before I knew it one of his arms flew around me. “I’m sorry kid, I-I’ll start looking out for you more. I guess, I just, I missed partying with you.”

“But I can’t go back to that life Brandon.” I forced out, trying my hardest to stay on top of my emotions. “I won’t survive it.”

“I know.” He accepted as he began to rub my back. “I let you down, and I-I’m sorry.”

“Now you see why it all has to end.” I admitted. “It’s me or the band, and for the first time in my life, I’m choosing me.”

“Good.” Brandon nodded. “Unity is a better fit anyway.”

As I saw Teddy’s car pull in I quickly threw the cigarette down and stomped it out. “Saw that!” He shouted, rolling down his window.

“My bad.” Brandon accepted. “He just needed something to calm him down.”

“Have you tried, I don’t know, not taking him to a bar?” Teddy bit, staring him down.

“I’m sorry.” He offered. “I wasn’t thinking, and I, it didn’t really click he’s an addict until today. This won’t happen again.”

“It better not.” Teddy scoffed as I wandered towards the car. “Or this albums done.”

“Come on,”

“He’s right.” I began, as I pulled the door open. “One word from Teddy and I’m killing this project. I don’t care if it’s in post- production! I’m done risking this.”

“Okay.” Brandon sighed throwing his cigarette down. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“See you tomorrow.” I grunted. I could tell he wasn’t happy but I don’t care. It’s just not worth losing Teddy. Nothing is.

“Sorry I was smoking.” I offered as I climbed in and shut the door behind me. “I just, I needed something and I figured that was the best alternative.”

“I get it.” Teddy sighed. “It better not be a habit, but I get it.”

“It won’t be.” I shook my head. “I just needed something to meet the craving.”

“You better talk about it tomorrow morning in group.” Teddy pressured with a serious look.

“Fuck me.” I groaned, remembering the schedule. “Alright, yeah, but can I drive myself? I need to go to the studio from there.”

“I was thinking, I was thinking I could take an early lunch, and maybe we’d go see your grandma.” He timidly offered. “If you’re up for that.”

I though it over before letting out a deep breath. “Okay.” I accepted. “But I can’t promise I’ll want to visit for long.”

“Even just five seconds means something.” Teddy smiled. “You’ll be okay.”

“I know.” I accepted in a sigh. “Your mom’s pissed at me though, huh?”

“Little bit.” He shrugged. “But that’s only because she’s worried about you.”

I smirked at the idea before letting it fall away. “Are you mad at me?”

“No.” Teddy shook his head. “Why would I be?”

“Going to a bar.” I shook my head. “Acting like one of the guys.”

“You are one of the guys.” Teddy rolled his eyes. “Besides, did you drink tonight?”

“No.” I rejected. “Just bummed a cigarette from Brandon.”

“I never understood cigarettes.” He began with a devious grin. “Cancer sticks, that you suck on. I’ve got something you can suck without all the chemicals.”

I couldn’t help but raise my eyebrows. I quickly turned to him and matched his grin. It’s been a stressful day. I’ve fought with what’s felt like everyone and worked my ass off! I swear to god Teddy better not be playing with me!

“I’m serious.” He nodded his head. “I haven’t seen you all day and I just, I miss you.”

“Yeah?” I smirked as my wandering hand worked its way over.

“Yeah.” He smiled. “But I want the whole nine yards Ryder. So that means pillow talk and cuddling after.”

“Naked cuddling?” I asked as he rolled his eyes.

“What other type of cuddling would I mean?” He teased but froze as he saw my hand inching closer. He fidgeted as I reached towards his crotch and began to unbutton his pants. “Not in the car.” He groaned. “I-I have to drive and,” His words froze as I reached in and fished him out.

With a stroke or two his six inches sprang to life. “You’ve been waiting for this all day, haven’t you?” I teased in a laugh.

“Maybe.” He exhaled, trying his hardest to drive.

“Do you not jack off anymore?” I asked, starting to stroke him.

“Not really.” He admitted, before reaching down and forcing my hand away. “Seriously Ry, just two minutes and we’re home.”

“Fine.” I grunted, but made sure to help button him back up. “Why don’t you masturbate?”

“Why would I?” He asked. “We have sex like every other day.”

“Because we have sex every other day.” I teased in a giggle.

“Uh, so you go and watch other guys suck,”

“No.” I quickly interrupted. “I think about you fucking me.”

“Oh.” He exhaled fidgeting a little more. “Maybe that can be arranged.”

“Tonight?” I excitedly asked as he nodded his head. The second we reached the driveway I jumped out and got the front door open.

“Okay, okay,” Teddy giggled. “I’m excited too, but if we wake up Oli we’re done!”

I nodded and tried my hardest to sneak into our room. “I love you.” I began, as he quietly shut the door.

“Because I’m going to fuck you?” He asked in a sigh.

“No.” I quickly tried to clarify. “Because I missed you all day, you didn’t get mad that I went to a bar, and you get to fuck me.”

“I love you too.” He giggled, walking up and giving me a soft delicate kiss. “You sure you want to do this?”

“Yup.” I quickly nodded my head, and threw off my shirt before helping him with his.

The second his pants came off there was no holding back. I nearly tackled him to the bed in excitement as I pulled away his boxers. There was no question about it, the passion in our relationship had come back, perhaps even stronger than before. It’s nearly every night we do this, and yet, we only want each other more and more.

The second my tongue hit his sack I heard him try and cover a moan. As I worked my way up to his mushroom tip I heard his moans grow harder to contain. “I’m sorry babe.” He forced out. “I-I can’t do this for long tonight.”

I let him fall out of my mouth before looking up. “Why’s that?” I asked with a grin.

“Because someone was trying to blow me in the car.” He giggled, reaching down and forcing my own boxers off. The second he began to stroke me I felt my head fall back. “I can’t believe you went thirteen years without sex.”

“Me neither.” I confessed. “Guess my left arm got a lot of work.” I teased feeling his hand growing faster and faster.

Suddenly he let me go as he leaned towards the drawer to pull out the condoms and lube. “So this is your first time receiving, since, what, we were seventeen?”

“Something like that.” I nodded taking the bottle from his hand. “You didn’t let me do it often then either.” I complained pouring it onto my fingers.

“I regret that.” He smirked, watching me gently finger myself. I saw his six inches jump in his hand as he thought it over. “Remember our first time?”

“How could I forget?” I smiled. “You nearly made me black out.” I reminded him, reaching over to his latex covered length and coating it.

“Maybe I’ll go for that today.” He teased. I went to sit up, but he forced me down. “I’m fucking you.” He reminded me, standing up as I spun to the side of the bed. I nodded as I spread my legs and felt his tip pressuring against me. “You okay?” He asked, as he tried his hardest to force his way in.

“Yeah.” I grunted as my body finally caved and I felt him slip in. I bit down on my lip as the pain began to radiate out.

“You’re so tight.” He exhaled finally starting to move. “You sure you’re okay with this?”

“Mhm.” I forced out as he began to push in and out. “Just, keep moving.”

He nodded his head and as he found his rhythm all the pain seemed to subside. Before I knew it every pump was met with waves of pleasure. I saw my cock jumping and pulsing as it desperately begged for relief. His wandering hand grabbed it and began to slowly stroke, but I could tell we were on separate pages. I bit down hard on my lip as soft whimpers escaped my mouth.

“You like that?” Teddy asked, beginning to pump into me. “What about this?” He asked, changing his direction slightly and starting to hammer a sensitive spot.

“Teddy.” I forced out in a heavy breath. “Teddy I’m serious,” I gulped as he kept hitting it. “I can’t keep it in.”

“Me too.” He nodded. “I-I’m on the edge.” Without warning he quickened and froze. His hand fell away as I watched him enter into ecstasy.

I went to reach for myself, but he pulled out and grabbed it before I could. Suddenly his hungry mouth met my inches and pulled me into a separate world. “Teddy, Teddy I-I,” I exhaled, starting to lose control. “It’s, it’s,” I began but felt the pressure building in my legs. The second his hand met my sack the pressure forced its way up through my body. I stiffened as the orgasm took over and escaped into his sucking mouth.

Our eyes met as he took shot after shot before swallowing and going back for more. “Wh-what’s gotten into you?” Was all I could manage out.

He smirked as he let me fall out of his mouth “I’m just proud of you today.” He finally confessed. “You stood up for my brother, and then refused alcohol.”

“Can we not talk about your brother right now?” I complained , moving over to make room for him.

“Deal.” He smiled, coming in close so we could cuddle. Suddenly his lips let mine as he went in for a deep kiss. “I really did miss you today.”

“I missed you too.” I nodded. “I kept looking at my ring all day.”

“Me too.” He smiled, laying his head against my chest. “I can’t wait to marry you.”

I smirked and nodded my head. How could I ever need drugs or alcohol when I have this? And I don’t even mean the sex! Just him, laying in my arms and talking. Getting to know one another all over again. Getting to love one another all over again. Nothing can touch this. I’m sure of it.

It was a good chapter.  I am proud of Ryder for calling Teddy and getting out of there although why he caved in and went there in the first place makes me nervous. I hope Oliver doesn’t find out what almost happened or he will rip the rest of the band a new asshole himself.  After what Brandon said at the barn about getting Ryder away from Messiah and it being bad for him why would he push this on him?  For being musical geniuses the rest of the band are colossal immature idiots!!!!

Thanks for the chapter Ace.

I thought Mrs. Haner was too hard on Ryder regarding Oliver's antics in school, she knows how her son is and she was embarrassed by getting a call from Mr. Fuller?  Does she really care what other people think? To me it doesn't seem she and Harry are on the same wavelength regarding Oliver and school.

The band mates in Messiah disgusted me with their attitude toward Ryder's sobriety.  Do they care about him at all?!?!  WTF?!??

Thank God Ryder had the strength to resist temptation; At least now he knows they can't be depended upon to keep him on the straight and narrow.  I'm wondering if it's even worth him dealing with them at all.

Oh and if Teddy and Ryder are monogamous, why the rubbers?  Pregnancy prevention?  😉😊

Just wondering....

That makes their current childish behavior even more immature. But I know of fifty- and sixty-year-olds who are similarly drawn to alcohol and drugs – most of them have been in and out of jail and rehab all their lives, and don’t have jobs. They’d never be able to write songs or remain in a band.

There is a old cliche that sums it up:

"You are only young once but you can be immature forever"

I think if I went thirteen years without, I’d want some serious prep work before Teddy tried to just shove it in! Doctor Theodore should know that muscles cannot be stretched like that if they haven’t been exercised for more than a dozen years! A careless Teddy could easily have damaged things down there.  ;-)

:gikkle: Ryder says that he was preparing himself, so maybe he was ready and eager :lmao:

Diseases... They are not together for that long, and Ryder is/was a drug addict, with higher risk of having a disease. They probably did blood tests when he entered the hospital, but he probably needs to do another 6months after, to be sure.

Blandon let me down this time and am not sure he isn't the one who pushed Ryder into the heavy drug world after all he was the one who introduced Ryder to his first joint of Marijuana. Why would you pressure your drug addict friend into a bar with cocaine around. And again Ryder just showed how strong his commitment to Teddy is am proud of him.

PS: (Kikikkkkk) it's about time Teddy let Ryder Bottom

I thought the disease angle as well initially, thinking he was cleared during his hospital stay, I forgot he hasn't been back long, so much has happened.
