Silently speaking; Poetry collection - 2. Silence

SILENCE

Mirror of the feelings hidden in our eyes

A gentle weapon of the wise

Politely avoids the question unknown

Refreshes the past when sitting alone

Expresses the infinite happiness within

Suppresses the sorrow, not to be seen

Humbly overlooks the fool's babble

Allows our beloved to convey their troubles

Hides the delicate feelings never shared

Guards the secrets of the ones you care

Silence has the unimaginable strength of endurance

But never let it block all your senses

Don't be mum in the face of brutality

Malicious and cowards misuse it's ability

Know when to break your silence and raise your voice

That's always the most correct choice!

Extremely sorry for some grammatical mistake.
Basically, it says about expressive silence and contains a social message...I hope everyone enjoys it :)

Silence as strength and as a power.

A unique perspective I never thought of before, but it's so true! Thank you for teaching me something new and doing so in such a beautiful way. I like this poem very much. It reminds me of something Oscar Wilde would have written.

Keep going!! :)

Read his works. You'll see that it's true. Also notice he was uncompromising which is another great thing to be when making your art. Your words are important and need to be heard as are your feelings. Never let anyone stifle them with their control.

I love how you started out so personal, giving us an inward feel, but progressed to an outward call against injustice. Poetry has always been a great tool against social injustice... lulling us while hitting us over the head... Well done... cheers... Gary....

Yes sir...I wanted people to see the various ways silence is needed or used as strength before giving them the message...

As as submissive, i spend a lot of time in silence. So this spoke to me in many ways. Very nicely done.

You speak eloquently of silence, a golden kind of paradox. It is wonderfully done, telling us so much about how you experience it, while describing its limits. Thank you.

Very powerful piece, Aviana: The gift of silence. I've missed reading your work in Live Poets Society. You give us a very important reminder: "Don't be mum in the face of brutality". Thank you for giving us insight on the world and your world as well :).
